Citi isn't gonna get more business by cutting rewards.

Called Citi to verify as well. The rep said they will also be adding 2% back at convenience stores in addition to the previously mentioned utilities/cable.

They're not trying to get more business, they're trying to cut costs. I suspect that the average Joe Consumer has been too diligent in paying off his credit card balances on time.

Bah.

alert mods

If it is only 2%, I may as well convert it to this
I just converted my old card to platinum last month too.

alert mods

aw. fudge.

I just finished w/ the 0% BT recently on my dividend card and just started to really use it.. was dreaming of an easy 300 Cash Back per year but guess that's gone. 2% for utility and cable, have a feeling of other cards will jump on this bandwagon. just got a notice from AMEX on paying two bills to get $15 credit.

Hmm, I thought something was amiss when I did my AOR recently and noticed the Dividend card was missing from the Citi web site. Since I already have it (and do use it quite extensively for the 5%), I did not want to go through the motions to see what was up.

In any case, I guess Citi and Chase is colluding to give less back...

Driver's Edge is a rebate towards buying a car or car service, not Cash Back correct?

Diamond Preferd is only 5x for 12 months. And not Cash Back

I only started looking around after reading this link. But it says you can use it for car repair and thankyou point.

That actually may be a good card then... just instead of cash-back TY points for giftcards.

Plus you can double your points for every mile you put on your car, a la PremierPass.

And, you can use it for any car repairs/car purcahses/whatever auto-related. On the old one I had (prior to this prorgam - no bonuses, no drive rewards match), I turned them in for tires, brakes, oil changes, etc. You just mail them the reciept and it shows up as a credit on the next statement. Or you can convert it to TY points at 1c rebate = 1 TY point.

This is almost more flexable than Dividend, because I don't believe there is any min ($50 or $100 on Dividend depending which card you have), assuming you can dig up a reciept for car repairs done.

Re Citi Drivers Edge,

"Whenever you have scheduled maintenance performed on your vehicle, just submit a form with a copy of your receipt showing your odometer reading. It's that easy."

Even better deal for those with odometers in km (imported cars).

Not only just slash the Dividend card out of list.

Citi no longer offers no fee BT anymore besides targeted offer.

return222 and xSTRIKEx6864,

Watch out for those "Drivers Edge" cards. I have been on the phone with 3 different CSR's about my Drivers Edge Platinum Select Card and the so called "Thank You" points. I had called them originally to convert my Rebates to ThankYou points (a requirement) and they said that my card doesn't qualify for TY Points.
Click on the Apply Now button and then Terms and conditions and look and it says "Options". So, make sure you will be applying for a Drivers Edge Options card. They look like 2 different cards to me.

End result of my phone calls is that I converted the card to the DE Options Platinum card will no loss except for the rebates I had already accumalated. $1000/year max, 3% on SM, DS and Gas Stations for "x" time, 6 or 12 months, didn't write it down. 2% on all other purchases and access to the Thank You Network. After looking at my paper statement, my card is actually a Citi Drivers Edge Platinum Select Charter Rebates MasterCard (NO Thank You Points and lower max).

BTY: The Pic is what my card looks like except the 1st 4 digits of the CC differ slightly. Don't know if that is what seperates the different Drivers Edge cards or not.

PS: I asked the last CSR about the Dividend card, and she confirmed the 2% across the board for ALL purchases including convenience stores as Nummerkins mentioned. She suspects that older card members will be affected directly first, then the recently aquired cardmembers to the Dividend card.
I may look into the *Chase Cash Card* as previously mentioned

Sorry about the lenghth of the post. Kinda frustrated with Citi.

I don't think that's true. If you skim through the list of available cards on citicards.com, there are still some no-fee 0% BT deals offered with some of them, specifically the Citi Professional card.

Interestingly, however, the 12-month 0% BT deal advertised on the front page of citicards.com (the Diamond Preferred card) comes with a BT fee. I think that's a change--usually they advertise no-fee 0% deals on the front page.

Yeah, for Diamond Preferred card AmericanX, they just add the fee on the main page but not in "term and condition".

There's no fee with Citi Simplicity Reward card as of right now.

I think there is a condition that you can only cash out as much mileage reward as regular purchase you make. Isn't it?

I just called and the lady that answered said that she was unaware of the new terms, however it may be for new card applicants, but that at least for the time being, the terms on my account are staying the same at the 5% rebate, and i will be informed before any changes.

Yep, thats why I said "you can double your points", which may not be the best way to say it - perhaps "you can match every purchase point with a drive point". Same way PremierPass works - pretty much you can't redeem more Drive points than purchase points - they have to be matched (you can redeem more purchase than drive points though, there's no requirement that you even enroll or submit for drive points).

I just got notice today that my ATT Universal card (just like the platinum dividend select) is being canceled on 10/2. I was thinking about converting to the dividend card but thanks to this thread it looks like I'll just drop Citi (and their awful customer service) all together.
