devaraa said:Still no luck...been trying for a while...am gonna let the traffic slide & try again in the nite...anyways got the CODE...and tickets are assured according to AMEX CSR if you have the code. Yeah I think I'm gonna try again later, I'm pretty sure AMEX isn't just going to let their promotion turn into some joke because Ticketmaster can't get their system to work right. There are obviously still tickets available because the full price stuff is there, and AMEX should already have paid for all our tickets-so unless Ticketmaster goes and sells our tickets to someone else we should be ok.
Heh...so my tally so far: 4 Tickets to Kanye West [approx value 4x$69] 2 Tickets to US Open (damn the internet connection at work for dying!) [approx value of $2x$39]
Annual membership fees: $30 (one starwood card, one blue) Value of tickets so far: $360 (although admittedly me and my friends would never have gone to the Kanye West concert if it wasn't free)
I'm really hoping to score that free dinner though, very nice places =) Just hope there isn't some ticketmaster type screwup when you get to the restaurant, because that would be ridiculously embarassing.

Must have sold out while you were typing. If successful, you'd have gotten the code afetr you pressed submit - both in the web browser and in email.
Yea, I figured it was something along those lines... guess I couldn't outtype everyone else when entering the numbers.
Anyhow, to those who have a code, there is a section when you select Evening session for 9/4/06 that specifically states "American Express CARDMEMBER COMPLIMENTARY TICKET OFFER" with a place to put in a code. You should also select PROMENADE Seating so the price changes to $0.00. (The other sections say "n/a"). Maybe that will work (assuming it hasn't been tried yet..)
I've given and received some freebies here before, so it can't hurt to ask: If anyone has an "extra" code they'd like to donate, please PM me.
Thanks and good luck to those that got tickets... now to wait for the Broadway tickets next week.... |

luiset83 said:well, I did get my code... but when I tried it on ticketmaster, it said that there were no more tickets left? wtf?
anyway i called ticketmaster again and explained the situation and the person said to call back in 20 minutes... i guess I'm not the only one with the problem, perhaps. Well, AMEX did give out like 1000 tickets, so I'm going to guess that at least like, 100 people just called ticketmaster to ask what's the deal. Or called AMEX and AMEX called ticketmaster. Or some combination lol.
500 people who are confused are fairly likely to call you up. |

wtf it's working but they're charging a ticket handling fee?! That's not right...last time for the kanye west concert the handling fee was waived. lol AND order processing charges...
damn jerks at ticketmaster. Oh well, I'm gonna pay the charges now so I get decent tickets versus crap tickets. |

If anyone was charged the TicketFast fee from TM, don't fret. TM will be refunding your money. AXP has picked up the tab on all costs/fees related to the cost of the ticket. I just got off phone with TM and they will be communicating refund schedule soon. Everything should be fixed on ticketmaster's side now. |

Oh yay, I think the thing was because this event wasn't AMEX-only like the Kanye West concert that since we were using the same ticket page as the regular people that Ticketmaster couldn't separate the fee setup.
That's great though, if it's totally free. I'd thought about it and decided even $5.55 isn't too bad, lol. After all it's still $80 off
But hey, free is even better!!!
Edit: wow, kinsuns friggin' negged my post about how I love AMEX cuz they're hooking us up with so many free tickets...guess SOMEBODY didn't get love from AMEX. Hey, AMEX pretty much has to give some love to me, not only do I pay membership fees, I went and bought their stock too (not a lot, but it's a token of my love).
