Kanye West concert tickets sold out!

Did anybody get the tickets to Kanye West? Just curious how tough it was.

The system glitched on me a little, my mother and me have separate card accounts but it blocked my mom after I got tix. It might have been because the server was going nuts, but it might have just been blocking because we have the same billing addy. The terms don't say that separate accounts at the same address can't participate but that seems like how they're running it.

I think the tickets ran out after a couple minutes, so it wasn't super easy, but it wasn't super hard. Probably because not that many people knew about it.

Of course, now that it's been posted here I'm sure those US Open tickets will be next to impossible to get.

The one you'll have the best shot at is probably the Fandango tickets, they're giving out a lot of those over several days, so you'll have quite a few shots at it.

BTW, AMEX rocks so hard it's not even funny. This kinda makes up for all the crazy changes they've been implementing (no more double everyday points, no more BVG, etc.). Of course, it only makes it up for us New Yorkers, the rest of the country is screwed

Wait a minute, that's a great idea, I think AMEX should just keep cutting benefits, and use the savings from the rest of the country to fund awesome events every week for New Yorkers to go to. That would be hilariously awesome, because then I'd be eating free and going to shows for free while everyone else no longer has insurance or bvg or points. Bwahahahahaha

BTW if anybody wants my Kanye West tickets, that'll be $90000...each. Since you can't actually get tickets any other way (not sold anywhere), they're technically priceless!

Wow unbelievable, already 20 listings on eBay...people are lame as hell.

Technically all those listings are illegal since NY state law limits you to a $5 markup on these tickets-the face value is $0.00

Actually, nevermind these jerks all appear to be non NY state people...who obviously just jacked tickets for resale on eBay. And the law only applies if you're selling it in NY state. *sigh*

uh, a dumb question. Is blue cash rebate the same thing as blue cash? I was wondering if I'd be able to get in on the tix with my blue cash card.

thanks in advance!

I tried to get Kanye and got the boot! Was majorly bummed as I would LOVE to have gone to that concert. If anyone who got them needs a date, drop me a line LOL

Seems I am destined to get $%*(&^ by AMEX every time they offer a "perk."

Kanye West hates AMEX card holders

I called today, and the csr basically said that if it's an AMEX, then it will work.

you can check eligible cards here: http://www.membershipchangeseverything.com/global/eligibility.jsp

Thanks for the info! $75 for dinner isn't very much to go for 6 people.... I guess, bring fewer friends!

Does anyone know what seats the US Open tickets are for? I know it says Promenade level, but where's that?!

I'm going to guess that they're not great seats lol. Free tickets aren't gonna be the best seats lol

Technically he hates non-AMEX card holders
AMEX card holders get free serenading.

yeah, plus they're for the evening, so doubly not that great.

I want to know more about the dinner though.

The site crashed. I could not load the page...
As usual...

claims they are s/o did ANYONE get the code?

was it one time use?

etc

Sold out when i finally was able to load the page...

This always happens. Was anyone able to get tickets? They said there would be a 1000 and their stupid servers overloaded as usual. To the guy that was inquiring about the seats, if the free seats aren't good enough for you, I'll take them off your hands. LOL

Got code for 2 Tickets to US Open.

this is retarded... i got a code, and immediately went to ticketmaster to get tickets... and it says that no tickets are available??

I got the code - yes, one time use.

And no, I can't actually get the tickets from the Ticketmaster site.....

Can't be worse than the $10 ones - for those I got the last row in the corner. So the free ones have to at least be as good as the $10 one

dhobi said: Got code for 2 Tickets to US Open.

what code did u use? the one you got in the email( one time use code) or another when they asked for a password?

the codes aren't working.... what do we do?

yep same thing, I got a non-working code. Or at least one that won't allow me to purchase seats.

Thanks OP for the heads up. Just made it in the nick of time...got 2 tickets with code...now to get the ticketmaster site to work...that's another pain in the rear end...

still telling no tickets available...any luck others?

I know the tickets for the US Open have been sold out for a while. I tried to pay for seats a while back and they didn't have any. Maybe you'll have to contact AMEX.

So was anyone able to actually use their code on Ticketmaster?

I did not get email, did anyone else?
Atleast I printed the page with the code.

I got to a page where they made me enter my AMEX card # (for verif.), my email, and some randomly generated code I had to re-enter (similar to ticketmaster's set up wen purchasing). As soon as I submitted, I got thrown to the "No more tickets" page. I assume some people got an actual email with a code to get the free tickets to 9/4/06 matches?

I got the e-mail, but it still does not work. Here is what it stated

Congratulations. You're in.

You and one guest will see some of the best players in tennis with two complimentary Promenade tickets to the evening session of the US Open on Monday, September 4, 2006, at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens. Just one more advantage of being an American Express Cardmember.

To claim your tickets, click here and input the special-offer code below.

Here's your one-time use

special-offer code:XXXXXXX

ok, steps i have taken to try to get the password or code to work.

1. I got the email, with the one time use code
a. Tried using it as pasword ( No Go)
b. Used AMEX Cus Support number as pasword (no go) , ths was based on the recomendation of AMEX Cus Support.

2. Called AMEX, I am Gold Member, the ocde doesnt work. THey had no clue about this promotion. Transfered to Ticket Broker.
REcomended try using AMEX Number as Password, no go. They then told me to call Ticketmaster, after 10 min on the phone, a Ticketmaster person still had no clue what I was talking about. Argued for a while, they then told me to call AMEX back. Honestly I am really pissed off at AMEX now. I know its free tickets, so you cant complain about free, but if they hype it up to promote it and then we cant use it.. arrgg..

i'll call AMEX again today.

Still no luck...been trying for a while...am gonna let the traffic slide & try again in the nite...anyways got the CODE...and tickets are assured according to AMEX CSR if you have the code.

Must have sold out while you were typing. If successful, you'd have gotten the code afetr you pressed submit - both in the web browser and in email.

Internet died at work for websites, but I managed to remote desktop over and grab 2 tickets RIGHT before it ran out (thank god AMEX's claim form doesn't need the flash plugin). I wanted to get 4 (on me and my mom's accounts-she was standing next to me so it's legit) but since it had taken so long for me to get to the server they were out 10 seconds later when I tried to get another 2.

And now this problem...*sigh*

I did get my code... but when I tried it on ticketmaster, it said that there were no more tickets left... I called ticketmaster and explained the situation and the person said to call back in 20 minutes... i guess I'm not the only one with the problem, thankfully... i was starting to cuss AMEX for giving out too many codes

How often does a promotion like this come up with AMEX? I missed out on this one, but am keeping my eyes open in hopes of another promtion like this...
