mikef07 said:As a big opponent of AORs the fellow FWFers have changed my tune. It still isn't for me on this large level because I don' think I could do all of the micromanagement of it, but it is good to see you guys doing this and doing it well. 10K + bonuses is nothing to sneeze at. GJ and thx for the detailed posts to see how people are profiting from this. I did take a car loan in the past week that I have planned to pay off in the next 14 months and BTd about $30,000 for 15 months at 0%. I will save about $2500-$3000. I couldn't have and wouldn't have done it without the knowledge of some of the peopel here. Thx again to all.
You would be suprised on how little time it takes to manage a large AOR. Of course, that is based on putting some time and effort into properly educating yourself about AORs and then effectively planning one. But once it is set up, it is fairly 'turnkey'. |

Hi!
Don't mean to be rude, but everything you need to complete a successful AOR is posted in the FAQ thread(s) and the various AOR posted by other FatWalleters! Just be patient, spend some time reading all those threads, organize your plan of action, and do it!
Good Luck! |

great thread, but quick question that I cannot find answered (i have spent at least 6 hours reading through threads). What does everyone do one year after the AOR (after the o% rates run out and the balances are repaid). Are you folks closing those accounts or just leaving them around and not using them? |

After the balances are repaid, the actions will vary. Most cards will be left open for future use/reallocation, some cards may be consolidated with other cards from the same issuer, and some cards may be closed to avoid annual fees, etc. At the end of the AOR, the future usage/need of each card should be evaluated based on its own terms, conditions, and use for you. I hope this helps! |

Follow-up question. I did a mini app-o-rama recently. I received a phone call today from citibank regarding my applications (did two through them). Anyone else received this phone call? Know what they are going to be asking for? I figure i shouldn't say i am planning on cashing out the credit card and earning interest for a year...I don't want to say I will be balance transferring since I don't have any credit card debt outstanding anywhere else. Any ideas on what I should say is the purpose of requesting the credit cards? Thanks all Well, i called back and they basically just told me one of the applications was approved (citi dividend) and that i would hear back in another 7-10 days on the citi professional. This is oddd to me as I would have thought both cards would have been accepted/denied at the same time. weird.

The people who call tend not to care whether you "make money" off the company; that's not their job. If the call is anything other than a courtesy call, it's probably to make sure that you actually applied (i.e. fraud prevention). |

ok, i feel like im asking the question that everyone wants to know or maybe the question some people dont want to see answered, but my question is: you said you originally tried to do the bt's on the applications themselves. i understand many people believe this brings higher cl's and sometimes the offers are a little sweeter only when completed through the application. what i cant figure out is how you did this. who did you send the bt to? im the kind of guy that likes convenience checks and depositing them in his account AFTER i received the card. if there were a good method of landing the bt funds into your bank account from the bt you complete on the application, id really like to know how |

Some of these allow you to request a direct check to yourself, if they don't, you BT to another card, like Citibank, that allows for credit balance refund checks. It's all been discussed many, many, MANY times in the various AOR threads. |
