Hmmm. Can't believe I missed this. Sup, fallenangel?
To OP: Thanks for a clear, concise, well-though-out thread. It's a model for what I'll do next time - if and when there's a next time. |

I was trying to find offers for the following cards, but all seem to offer smaller BT term then the one you got. Were this preapprovals or did you find some on-line ad? If it's on-line ad, do you still have a link?
BofA Platinum Visa -------------------0% for 12 (6 Month) eTrade Platinum Visa---------------0% for 12 (No BT offer) RBS Platinum ------------0% for 12 (10 Month) WaMu Platinum------------- 0% for 12 (6 Month) Commerce Bank Visa ------------------0% for 12 (2.99% for 6 month)

Hi!
According to my records they were all targeted promos. Plus, these apps. were entered well over 6 months ago, so they may all be expired.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance! |

Nicely written, easy to follow. Would be interested in hearing about your strategy/approach to ensuring monthly min pmts are made, balances retired at end of promo periods, etc. |

Excellent thread. Would be interesting to track the healing of the FICO score on a month to month basis. When would you do an AOR again? When the FICO reaches 700 again? |

Great Job!
Would you mind including in the OP how much you paid for BT Fees? Those should probably count against your total profit.
Also, what's your total minimum payment each month for the BT's?
Thanks! |

seems very interesting
however, I have a hard time finding cards with no fixed% on the Balance Transfer or Cash Advance
are there still enough cards out there with no fixed % fees? |

i think all cards are starting to install the 3% fee on BTs..I, and a friend, for different cards, got a notice of change of terms...in it it states that for BTs, the fee will be 3% w/ a min of $5, as of some date...the days of AORs may be slowly dying... |

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't followed up on everyone's comments, but I have had a crazy Fall. In October, My employer let me go due to cost cutting measures (I received a sweet severance package though, so all is well). And I just received the biggest suprise of my life in that my wife is expecting. I am still a little depressed about it, as we weren't planning on having any children, so this will turn all my plans for the next 20 years upside down, but I am sure I will get over it!
Anyhow, another Fall activity was closing out this AOR. I have paid off all my BT's and will be planning a new one for mid 2007. Now I am off to Jamaica for a much needed vacation. When I return, I will put together a final post to summarize my results (I am well over $10K in gross AOR income) and pick your brains for some feedback on my next AOR (I may do a double-AOR with my wife's 800+ FICO score).
Enjoy the holidays !!

Congratulations, don't be depressed your probably just in shock, Or you had a vasectomy I was 38 when my oops daughter was born and also had not planned on kids. My life has been forever changed for the better and can't even imagine my life without her. Money is nice but will never compare to the joy a child will bring you, Plus a nice tax deduction |

Is it immediate for the purposes of the AOR? |

You know, your update reminded me of how well-presented your original post was.
... it looks like you cut some of your BT's short at around the 8 month mark, am I right?
I do, however, disagree slightly that the First AOR being the most lucrative. I think it can make the biggest initial jump in CLs, and perhaps the best/most signup bonuses, but I think later AORs, which build upon the massive credit limits from earlier ones, offer greater total moneymaking opportunity.
As for the gains on the stock trading, all I gots to say is "way to go". |

Yeah, I cut short most of my BTs due to the fact that I felt pretty satisfied with the results I made at that point and I wanted to start healing my credit scores in order to do a second AOR sooner than normal.
I hope you are right about later AORs being more lucrative. I created about 300K in new CLs from the first one, along with some sweet BT offers. Hopefully, i am just being a little pessimistic about repeating such results. |

As a big opponent of AORs the fellow FWFers have changed my tune. It still isn't for me on this large level because I don' think I could do all of the micromanagement of it, but it is good to see you guys doing this and doing it well. 10K + bonuses is nothing to sneeze at. GJ and thx for the detailed posts to see how people are profiting from this. I did take a car loan in the past week that I have planned to pay off in the next 14 months and BTd about $30,000 for 15 months at 0%. I will save about $2500-$3000. I couldn't have and wouldn't have done it without the knowledge of some of the peopel here. Thx again to all. |

With the recent BS from cardoffers.com, my next AOR plan will take a $300-400 hit. Anyone know any other sites similiar to cardoffers that do not have a limit on bonuses?
Just another reason for us to fully utilize the AOR idea now, as it slowly dwindles away from the FW effect.....Ah, I remember the good ol' days of doing continuous BTs back and forth to my Yahoo Visa card with a 5,000 CL. Back then, they gave one point for every dollar of BT. Before they cancelled points for BTs, I ended up with enough points for a new stereo, tv, and tons of Amazon.com gift certificates. if only I wasn't a dumb college kid back then, I could have gone for CLI and additional cards and really milked the system! |
