Chase just sent a memo to it's credit supervisors telling them that some accounts that required a BT at the time of application to avoid BT fees, actually had a 30 day period in which to make a BT with no fees! Mine was one of them. So they must have had more complaints than just mine. So I moved 50% of that card's cl to my interest bearing acct without any BT fees!. I think that the language on the application was very unclear and that is what caused all of this. SO if you got stuck paying a BT fee on a new account call Chase and see what they can do.
While on the phone finding this out yesterday, I asked the supervisor why the front line of call center folks were so uninformed or badly trained. She said those positions have a high turnover rate. So ask for a supervisor without hesitation if you are not getting what you want.

Used a BT check to myself after getting my card, just called after everything cleared and the 75 dollar fee was on there I asked why because on my offer it said no balance transfer fee with this offer. She took it off She said if it was 30 days then she could

I'm liking Citibanks cards and service more and more.

They wont waive the fee stating that theres always a fee for the BT on checks....some sort of BS, but I got that response from two CSRs already.

I just did it this morning, I wrote a BT check for 10.5k and deposited it, called today said i did not know there was a fee my offer (an offer i got in the mail) said no fee with this offer, she said as long as it was not 30 days she could wave it. I plan to do this again next week ill try to post after that one too. I tried to BT to my account but it wouldnt let me because it was a new card so the lady sent me checks. This may only work on new accounts with the mail offer. If you have a mail offer talk to a supervisor
