How soon could I close the account? Can I do the express application if I am not a current checking account customer and just want this savings account?

The NEA and AAA money market accounts also let you fund with a credit card but I wasn't gutsy enough for fear it would be treated as a cash advance. A person in that thread said they funded $500 and it showed up as a normal charge on their CC.
I opened my savings account a week ago with the $35 promo. You need to maintain a minimum balance of $300 or a directly deposit monthly from checking for $25 to avoid fees.

Can this account be funded with a credit card? Can you repeatedly fund this account with a credit card?
This could potentially be a great short-term moneymaker.
It really depends of your credit card company. For Citi it posts as a regular charge. Generally speaking it should post as a cash advance.

I took the risk and funded $1000 on a CC. If it goes through as a cash advance, worst case I'll stil end up ~$20 ahead after the 3% fee ($50-$30). I'll just watch the transaction to be sure it shows up as a purchase.
Xeon, could you please list the type of card you have. It may be relevant.

$10,000 minimum balance requirement for that account. Banc Of America Securities could be okay if you have $10k with them since rates are cheap.

Or $10k in thier AAA/NEA ex-MBNA MMA, or owe $10k from a BT deal on one of their cc's (likely including MBNA at the end of the month), or any combination of it. Plus prefered relationship means $7 trades (which isn't great, but certinally not bad either).
Thanks OP, in for another $50 from BOA.........my 1099 form from them this year will probably give me a heart attack.

I tried to apply online, but it only works for U.S. citizens, or permanent resident alien with a green card. Is there any way for non green card holder to apply? Thanks a lot.

It looks like if you fund the account with a CC you are defaulted back to the $100.00 amount even if it appears to take a larger amount in the application process. I tried to fund with $2000 from a 0% BT card and although the amount hasn't process to the new savings account or the CC balance, I can see where the available balance on the CC has been lowered by $100 only.

What does it mean by Gift Check? Is it just like a $50 prepaid debit card or something? Or do they deposit $50 in your account?
Free of monthly maintenance fees for the first 6 months. After 6 months, free with an automatic monthly transfer of $25 from your checking account, or, just maintain a $300 minimum balance.1
People who did the express app, did you guys get hit with a hard pull? I have 2 checking and 1 savings account with them already

Do anyone have the mail piece of this offer? I tried to open this saving account online but declined. I have to go to a banking center. But I don't have the mail piece. Can anyone share me with the photocopy? Thank you!
Can I do this with an existing savings account or do I need to cancel that before I start on this?
Edit: What I mean is that I currently have 1 savings and 1 checking. Can I take advantage of this by opening up another savings? Or do I need to cancel the existing one that I have?
