Was responding to a topic that got nixed because supposedly the question had been answered often before....

Stock answer is CITI allows no more than 2 cc apps at once...

However, I applied for and received 4 during an extended aor........for a relative-- this for someone with sucky credit & that didn't posess any current citi cards....

I got 5 Chase approved with my apporama. (I consolidated/closed one before I got the 5th)

Although that has nothing to do with Citibank.

What's the point of this topic??

What were the cards? There seem to be different categories of Citi cards.

you can definitely get more than 2 citi cards. Mixing types (personal business cobranded etc) gets you way more.

does visa or mastercard make a difference?
e.g., 2 visa applications and 2 mc applications or only 2 combined?

alert mods

that is the response they put on their letter that they only llow 2. however, i applied and received 2 personal, 2 business on my recent aor. I was denied the 3rd personal beceuase they state you can only apply for 2 within a 60 day period.

i believe u can go up to 4 personal cards...but u can only apply for 2 at the same time during a 60 day period...so if ur dying to get 4 different cards then just apply 2 now and wait 2-3 months and apply 2 again...

personally i am keeping my citi limit to 2 for now for the hope of citi designing an even better reward (points or cash) type CC.

Citi will limit personal credit card apps to 2 per 3 month period.

It was my post, I must have missed the cobranding, personal, business point. Question then, I guess I don't understand what a "cobranded" card is. I would have assumed that the AAdvantage card was cobranded. I found this description on another site. (co-branded in the sense that the Citibank AAdvantage card, for example, carries the brand of both Citibank and American AAdvantage).

Would the Home Depot, or any other merchants card be considered "cobranded?" I googled this and it is still not clear to me.

I have a Dime Plank Platinum MBNA card, which is a card that is branded with my local bank, this I figure is "cobranded." But now I am not sure what "cobranded" means. Must it be issued by a bank and a credit card issuer (the bank being different than the issuer, since Citibank is both)?

A's AOR post

this was discussed a bit at the end of this thread....somebody was able to get several "co-branded cards"...i.e. Conoco Phillips and Exxon Mobil MC......none of them have sign on bonuses or bt ops....and poster didnt think could relocate limits....and the Cash Back was limited to their gas brand so I dont see much reason to have them....

Also, OP, there was an entire thread on all of the CC issuers...

new applications limit thread

Do people have more than 10 open citi cards? (including the ones in safe deposit boxes)
