Went to a Buick / Pontiac dealer today. The salesman asked if I really wanted to take a spin in a Buick and I said no. He made a copy of the printed email and said he'll forward it to the manager. I'm not too optimistic about getting the GC but then I got to take a Solstice out for a spin. You just have to ask. |

i'm all for test drives, but this is insane jumping through hoops ... the dealerships don't care about your gift card and I don't feel like having to have them call ... oh gosh it's so friggin' insane. |

We have a Buick that is still under warranty...will be going in for an oil change and some other minor work soon. Might as well print this out and try to earn $50 while I'm there already.
Thanks, OP ! |

gresham , ore. dealer had no clue. no car registered on "on star". So I taught them how to do the AMEX thing. We played with On Star on the dealer floor. They copied my cert. 2 days later, I got a thank you card from the dealer for teaching them how and asking my real phone number since they could not contact me so as to fill out "how much education" on the reg process |

follow up from last week test-drive and the saleman got no clue about the promotion and asked me to call him back this week.
I called him back and he told me to brink a form to him again and he knows how to do it now. When I came in and gave him the form. He told me that he got the package from the corporate and he gave the form to the manager. The manager said he will fax it to corporate according to their instructions. He made sure that I will get it by 4-6 weeks.
I'm just wondering why they didn't do it on the buicktestdrive.com web. Anyway, will have to wait and see. |

I did mine today no problem. The dealer knew all about it. Didn't copy the license, told him I wasn't interested in a new car but he made me take a short drive anyway, oh well. When we got back from the test drive, he took my form to the manager & they put the info into the computer & said I should be getting the card in 4-6 weeks.
I always tell them right away that I'm not interested in a new car cause I don't want to waste their time. |

when paying a ta restaurant...they put a hold ona certain amount incase you left the tip on the card
also, some places add a $1 "verification/test" charge (i don't know if thats the actual name of it, that's just what i'm calling it). this could have stopped the 75 charge from going through, if you did 74, it may have worked, but then you end up w/ a card w/ $1 on it at the end. how lame is that? |

My local dealer didn't know anything about this offer, so I had them call 866-351-4031, but they were closed already (that number is only open until 5pm CST). So the next day the dealer called the 866 number again and called me back, saying that they couldn't do the offer because they didn't have a 2007 Lucerne on the lot. Has anyone else run into this situation? Does it really require a 2007 Lucerne, and does Buick not give the dealer an account on the website if they don't have that car in stock yet? |

From the Buick form: "Test drive a 2007 Buick and experience . . ."
No mention of Lucerne specific on form or in T&C. Sounds like a B$ answer from a dealer too lazy to figure out the real deal. |

ahong said:anybody know how to check the status? My was dropped off at buick dealer center Considering the problems some people are having with the offer at dealerships all over and the fact it is submitted via internet only, you have no means of checking up on this one let alone calling someone to find status unless you yourself saw the dealer input the data on line and of course you received the verification printout of info being submitted. The offers come and go and sometimes you score it and some times you dont. When you dont you try to find out why and if you have a copy of voucher sometimes can follow through with a decent manufacturer (has happened with Hyundai and Toyota for us, has not helped with Ford once) but you havent a copy and no idea if they really submitted your data so you have no recourse but to sit tight and wishful thinking. |

My wife and I went to the Buick dealer in Glenview IL on Saturday. Met with John, a very very nice dealer, test drove a 2007 LaCrosse, got the confirmation pages (one for my wife and one for me!) and came back happily. |

The dealership I went to said they would do it for me if I left a copy of my e-mail containing my test drive ID in it. I called the Buick hotline 1.5 weeks later, and my test drive was still "unconfirmed." When I called the sales manager to see why it had not be done, he stated he had not gotten around to it, even though he was supposed to do it the next day.
So I called the hotline 1-866-351-4031 and explained to the rep that I had taken the test drive and that the sales manager was beating around the bush when I called twice to inquire why he had not confirmed me in the system.
The Buick phone rep asked for the name of the dealership, the name of the sales manager, and the phone number. She called and spoke to him, gave him his login information, and called me back to tell me he seemed to be giving her the run around when it came to confirming my test drive.
Surprisingly enough, when I called the next day to the hotline, the phone rep said that I was confirmed for the gift card. It took some extra work and some extra phone calls, but now I am all set.
When in doubt, call the hotline and they can help you out when dealing with a difficult dealership. |

That's right, dealer does entry of your form ID online. If in doubt, call 1-866-351-4031 a few days later to confirm that you are in system - they look up by your zip and name. |

I went to the dealer in Malvern AR.
We sat in a car and he showed me the Onstar. Went inside and he did the verification and printed me out the form that shows all my info with the status as completed. In and out in about 10 minutes. Not a bad way to make $50. |
