s0ssos said:yes. but you still haven't answered how that is at least 2pts/$ for all purchases
breaux124 said:So if you fly enough you get AT least 2pts/$1 for all purchases
1 Flight point + 1 purchase point = 2 points OR 2 Flight Points + 2 "special purchase" points = 4 points
Most people with the premier pass card who use it right, have a bank of flight miles (either from their own flights or by purchasing flights for others) which they then need purchase points to match in order to transfer to the TY network. |

Mexico 35,000 60,000
They increased europe and hawaii I believe. Now you can fly to the middle east and africa...that is new.
Mexico used to be 30,000, so another increase. The main worry i have now is that they will start to charge the taxes and fees of the flight tickets. Until now they've always waived the taxes and fees. |

I would suggest anyone with significant TY points and wish to redeem for fixed-points flights do it ASAP. The very purpose to "introduce" expedia, I believe, is to discontinue the fixed-points flights, so that the bank can cap their cost for each point at 1c. |

Its 110k-130k TY points to fly to some parts of Asia (China, Vietnam), 110k-130 TY points to some parts of Europe (Germany, England), and around 12,000 - 40,000 TY points for travels within the US. Looks like they've doubled international flights and decreased the prices on shorter flights..Where you fly and land makes a difference. From LAX to LYC (London City Airport) costs 457k TY, but only costs 111k TY from LAX to LON (London Airports). |

There is no rocket science here
Do a search on TY. Do a search on Expedia. Same options appear, but at 1 cent = 1 point.
New: You can book hotels and vacations this way too.
I also think that the fixed price options are going to be gone very soon. There is a link at the bottom of the page that says the fixed options are available for "eligible members."
You save a little bit on taxes by using TY but overall, this makes the "neat" awards (eg: biz, first class) much less available. |

Please explain. I could not find anything on their site explaining this. Only points based on dollar amounts spent for checking. |

you are missing the point. There is still the fixed-point option for now, and it's 60k points to Europe. If you chose to use 457,000 points using the flexible-points option, that's your problem. |

I just noticed that the Thank You Network now advertises the following:
Expedia.comŽ is the exclusive travel sponsor of ThankYou Network Earn points when booking travel on Expedia.comŽ no matter how you pay. If you've got a CitiŽ Credit Card or Debit Card, use it to book your travel and earn even more points.
Clicking through to Expedia, you can sign in to your account, thus earning 1 TY Point per $1 spent with any credit card, for all purchases over $50. This is in addition to your credit card points. This appears to be new, and is a very nice addition. |

My bad, I wasnt aware that the fixed-point flights were still available. I thought they were phasing out the fixed-rate flights? Anyway, for the time being, we can use this to our advantage, use flexible points option for shorter flights for shorter distances, and fixed points for long distance. As I noted in another thank-you thread, short flights (ie, under 1 hour flights) costs less on expedia than it would under the old fixed points system. |

Not as good as I originally thought http://www.expedia.com/daily/highlights/rewards/Thank-You-Network-Earn.asp?ccheck=1&
What travel items don't qualify for ThankYou Points?
* Stand-alone rental car * Rental car added on as a post-purchase item * Activities and services totaling less than $50 * Stand-alone flight * Flight + rental car package |

It would definitely suck if they got rid of the fixed-points flights, but I think Thank You Points would still be a good deal. Even at 1 point = 1 cent, you can still get multiple points for each dollar spent with the right credit cards. And it's especially a great deal if you take advantage of their banking points. |

Just go to citi cards site and look at their rewards cards. The cards that offer 10,000 sign up points seem to change regularly. I received 10,000 for my diamond rewards card, now they are offering 6,000. Look at the cards and keep checking back. |
