scott1961 said:Also which are the best cards there that give instant decision with line, Figure those would be the best to get as calling in few weeks for an increase probably wont workRemember:
If you call to appeal within 30 days, they won't pull another credit report. So no need to worry about the magic having been lost.
Also your MBNA balance shouldn't post until after your Nov 9 billing cycle close date. So you'll be OK for even a "rolling" regular AOR until then, save for inquries--which themselves won't be much of an issue if you only apply for a handful of cards, especially if they are spread out over the three CRAs (which you can check each morning using your credit check memberships). |

Is pretty cool having the membership. Just updated my report and all the new inquires from yesterday and even this morning are already on it.
My new totals are Experian 7 Equifax 2 TU 1.
Do Certain issuers tend to always pull from same agency? If they tended to, Which my list shows they have, Then it would seem like a good idea if we could compile a list of who pulls from who. I only have 1 TU so would like to do some cards from an issuer that pulls from them

So, you'll want to avoid any more Experian inquiries if at all possible. Do Certain issuers tend to always pull from same agency? You can always ask the CSR if applying by phone. Sometimes a sharp one will know. |

So that explains why that everbank from 02/16/2005 is still there. I have been pulling my report almost daily for months and some more recent inquires fell off while that old one stayed. |

Ok Dave, You got me a little worried about my Experian so just went to MyFico and paid to pull it. At least they only showed 6, did not have that old Everbank one. Have now added 7 new cards in my little AOR and calling it quits for now. MyFico shows my Experian droping from 816 to 773, So does not seem terrible for all these inquires. Now will just have to wait and see what that big cash advance will cost me in points. Hopefully all the new credit I am getting will offset drop somewhat. My total utilization should be under 30% |

But in the last week including the MBNA card I have increased my total Credit by $194,500 and still waiting for my limits on a couple other cards. Not sure how all this happened, Kind of snowballed on it's own I think |

Didn't mean to worry you about the Experian hits. It isn't a big deal--it just means you'll want to lay off anyone who pulls Experian for a few months to get optimal treatment.
Congrats. That's a substantial boost in available credit right there, and will nicely insulate the utilization that will result from the large BT you just did. |

Ok, I suppose I could parse through Scott's statements and post it in the quick summary but since Scott knows his own information better than anyone else...could we purty please get a line item listing of what cards you applied, accepted/declined, credit limit, etc (if you had to close a card or two to get it (like your Quantum)).
Thanks a bunch.
I'm not a high roller but hope to be some day and it'd be much easier to digest that way. Great work Scott, Dave, and SIS.

I changed my thread title to that. Once I get my limits on the other cards I applied for I will figure out how much additional AOR money I will take. What would be a good utilization to stay under? |

Congrats Scott. It looks like you've been sucked into the cult!
That's a pretty nice total increase in credit. If you don't mind, I'd be interested to see what kind of initial credit lines these cards were willing to issue you with your outstanding credit. It may help down the road if anyone esle can match your credit. |

Could we change the title. This is NOT an App-O-Rama. One large balance transfer is not an App-O-Rama. An App(lication)-O-Rama, requires multiple Applications at once, by definition. This is not that.
This is one single large balance transfer.
Seriously, App-O-Rama and Balance Transfers are 2 different things and one is not a necessary nor sufficient condition for the other to occur. |

Did you actually read the whole thing? Maybe I just imagined Scott applied for a half-dozen or so cards after realizing the effect the large BT would have on his FICO. Actually that sounds more realistic than Scott actually doing a real AOR! |

This is not that. I agree mine was not your typical blitzkrieg App-O-Rama, Was started a few weeks and was not intended to be an AOR but the end results I feel are pretty good for a 1st time App-O-Rama. By the time I am done I should have $140k-$160K of AOR money all done by only needing to get about 6 new cards and will be under 50% total utilization. And my total credit should be at least $230k higher than when I started. Mine might be a case of less is better, Fewer inquires than the person who goes for dozen+ cards, Might also help in a future App-O-Rama because I will now only have 10 cards total. |

240...this thread didnt start off as an App-O-Rama, but has become one!
Like Dave said , the per bureau inquiries is a very minor thing, not one to stress off at all. Personally I dont care about inquiries at all and its never affected me. I think there is FAR too much concern with inquiries in this forum.
Scott expect a 100+ FICO/FAKO drop when the balances start reporting, taking you into the mid/upper 600s. Dont be scared, it happens to the best of us I would stay under 50% overall utilization and about 90% individual utilization... |

That is my plan and am looking to get that overall utilization to be even lower than that, I plan on calling AMEX today and hoping by providing docs I can get a substantial boost. I must get at least a half dozen offers from them a month and then I finally apply and they give me a crappy $11,500 line? Was hoping since my FICO's were above 800 when I started that even with the drop I would at least stay in the 700's. I guess I will have to learn to live with 600's, Seems I will be in good company here Since I don't plan on ever needing to borrow it should not matter. And if a good RE or business opportunity came up I still have my free an clear $750k+ house I could borrow off of, Yes I know another dumb mistake, I do kick myself for not taking something out on it when rates were super low. Just out of curiosity if I were to pay all balances to zero how quickly would my score recover? Thanks for all the help |

Scott, as shown in this thread, Citi currently has a 0% for life offer available for new Diamond Preferred cards; 2 purchases/month required. Might be worth checking that one out too. |
