jasonroehm said:Scott, as shown in this thread, Citi currently has a 0% for life offer available for new Diamond Preferred cards; 2 purchases/month required. Might be worth checking that one out too.
Thanks, Read that thread and does seem like a good offer but 2 of the cards I just got were from CITI and both pulled from Experian and cannot afford another pull from them. Just went online and see that my $99,925 is now in bank account. Pretty good since CSR told me would take 4-7 business days and only took 2. Also all that talk about CSR might be scamming me about $75 cap can be put to rest, Account shows: BALANCE TRANSFER TRANS - CTION FEE $75.00
First thing I did was pay $15k online, Not taking any chances of it showing 100% Utilization

That's a shame. You might have an opportunity to get the Diamond card, then talk them into consolidating your lines to the new card so that you get a rather large LOC at 0% for life. I understand your apprehensiveness; this is an accidental AOR, after all.

Congrats on your AAOR!!

This can be quite addicting huh? After all 100K at 0% BT could net out more than chasing .1% bank rate changes (you'd need 6 mil to counter that). Think you already did the math

Thanks, And yep did the math, Have 439 days of free money. Just came back from a local CU where I have other CDs and asked if they had any international credit union week specials, They had none but they gave a 15 month CD at 6.15% providing I direct deposit part of my paycheck every week. Did not mind since I must use that checking account because of another special CD I have with them so now don't have to go in there every month to put some in. So those 439 days while it's free money will make me around $6,500. And should be putting another $40k-$50k once all cards come thru.

I applied for that Hilton card and did not get an instant decision, What I find odd is they pulled from Experian yesterday and today they pulled my Equifax. Can they do that? Should I call and complain? Or do like Codename47 suggests and sue

CD for 15 months? Can CC take away some CL in the middle for no reason? I assume that's legal?

Any comments?

yes but he has already drawn out the money and is entitled to the 0% term offered unless he defaults

So you are saying if you draw the money out and don't make any mistake, there is nothing CC can do to harm you now. Sweet, I like this trap now

Not that worried, first I will not screw up on paying monthly, And if something ever did happen I have plenty sitting in other bank accounts to cover.

If you have other non-fixed funds to hedge against the (very slim) risk, this is indeed a good deal.

Further, this (AOR) is a good "investment" vehicle (with controllable risk) in Scott's situation with plenty of cash reserve at hand, high FICO, and being very conservative (low risk tolerance) in stock/fund investment, as long as Scott can "tolerate" the sizable FICO drop. Of course, this is more a deal than an investment.

Best of luck, Scott

Im going to make it my personal goal to get Scott enough App-O-Rama money so he can buy his next exotic car (and forgive us for the frugalness this forum has imparted!)

This is high volume (but a little risky) capital from CC CL for low but super-safe return (CD) over fixed period of time. Plus Scott has other source to back it up just in case. Congrats for your mini personal hedge fund

Not looking for an exotic this time. In the last 5 years I had Japanese (S2000) German (Porsche an BMW M3) and Italian (Maserati). Going for good old American Muscle this time, Shelby Cobra GT500. Should hear from AMEX this morning about an increase and from talking to them yesterday I think it will be decent size, So will have some more room to take more AOR money. SIS, You suggest Chase, I only have one card with them now, The 5% rewards that I got last February with a $25k limit. I owe nothing on it. What would you recommend as the best to apply for?
Figure if I am trashing my score might as well get another card or so.

Several people in Dave's large credit lines thread have achieved near-or-over $100k Chase lines by getting several of them and combining limits.

No, my car buying is more of an impulse thingy, But since I have been on FW I can't get myself to pull the trigger on a new toy. Now with free money I can justify it.

Quick update I got a call back from AMEX credit revue department that they had received my docs and I asked them how much of an increase I could get, They asked me what was I looking for and I said $50k? He said ok, Am now kicking myself thinking I should have asked for more. Also Applied this morning for Chase Platinum VISA. Now I think I will call it quits

LOL, I think you've already done the math that an AOR every year should more than pay for your new toy or whatever luxury that was previously paid with hard earned cash. I think that's my rationale for taking 2+ vacations every year...on "free money"
