Hi Everybody,
I've been busy all day. It's late and I thought I see who's been checking out my topic. It seems we've all gotten off track with the discussion. I apolgize for that because I was the first to get led astray from the intended topic of how to build extensive credit in less than 3 years. I do think we've exposed a very interesting new topic that should be addressed separately from this one. Does anyone care to start a topic about business troubles. I doubt there are many business owners who have no problems.

SCM,
That is a good idea and if I can I will do it. In the mean time I wanted to ask how do you pull your credit everyday to B TU? I have a monitoring service through truecredit which gives me my 3 scores and credit reports as part of the service but only allows for a refresh every 30 days. Also wanted to let you know that back in September truecredit double charged me on my credit card. I disputed it in October and got credited at the end. Today they cancelled my monitring service and I called them and they told me because I disputed it they automatically cancel the account. They also told me that if I dispute once more I would be permanently locked out of getting my reports. I also had to give them another credit card number because they locked that number out from being used.
Also I have a friend that has no credit at all and would like to build some. He wants to buy a house and can not right now and would like to get into building his credit to eventually buy his own house. What can I tell him to do so that he can start building his credit? |

Lostsite,
Truecredit offers the 3 in one credit monitoring that allows daily pulls. Maybe you DO have the full service but don't know where in the site to get the daily pull. I always click on the tab that says scores. Then, where it shows me my TU score, over to the right it says "update credit score now". Click that and you'll get a new report pull and score. It can only be done every 24 hours and one minute or more. Under exactly 24 hours and you get a message that you've already pulled your report less than 24 hours ago.
Gee, I don't exactly know where to tell your friend to start. They say on these forums that step one is to find a relative or friend that trusts you and ask them to add you as an authorized user on their credit account(s). That automatically pumps up the credit score. Then start with the accounts that pull EQ. Request investigation of the related pull the day after the pull is done. That's how I would start from the beginning.
On that idea. There aren't many options. I know first hand. Keep hold and protect the investment while getting what you can out of it. I don't care how hard or long I have to work to get what's needed to keep going. I firmly believe in a quote from Churchill, "Never, never give up!"
I had several disapointments today and I'm really bummed. Tomorrow, I'll go out there and I'll look forward and forget about this bad day. I often think about what will happen in a couple months if a trend continues or a deadline looms and try to plan for the ineveitable. Looking forward and seeing potential doom can allow you to prepare, scare you into doing the seemingly impossible, or cause you to lower your standards to fiscally survive the looming crisis.

SCM,
I am not finding that refresh options. I went on to transunion.com to see if it would send me elsewhere and it sends me to truecredit. When I go to the scores it has no option when I go to the credit reports themselves I get you can only view your report once every 30. I do the tri-merger 3 in 1 report and maybe that is the problem. Are you doing just the trans union file or are you doing all three like me? I have had this monitoring service since 03 and I only pay 9.95 per month for it. I just taking stabs here but maybe because I am grandfather in and it is now 14.95 per month for what I get I am restricted?
On my friend I gave him that suggestion a while ago but he does not want to do it because he feels it may be unethical. He hates Credit cards that is why he has never had them. Now he wants to buy a house and finds out he needs them. His other buddy told him to apply and try to open department store cards first and go from there. What is your opinion on that? |

Forex Diva,
The link you posted (http://45secondtools.soundconcepts.com)unfortuantly I don't have sound and all I saw was the picture. I am not sure what the point was. Actually I am not sure of your other point either "Learn how REAL millionaires build their businesses." What do you mean by Real Millionaires? I thought there was only one type of millionaire. A person who's net worth is over a million. Is there another?
I think your convictions about getting out of debt is good but at least for me there are 2 types of debt, productive (which is what my focus is on) and consumption (which is bad debt). I believe SCM is talking about productive debt used to leverage and expand business. This is why I am here to learn new ways to do that. Every business in this country contends with debt. It is an unnecessary evil all of us in business must contend with. Even Donald Trump the billionaire celebrity uses debt to make his deals happen.
So I am not sure what your posting is all about but I would welcome you to elaborate further if you would like. |

I was poking around over on CB and saw IBM Global Financing where somebody got a $200K CL. SOOOO, I decided to give it a shot. Had to set up a user account and then went to the financing application. Filled it out, but left the Social Security number of the corporate officer field with only 0's. Even though I did that, they went through Experian and Experian pulled a personal Experian hard inquiry on me. I would have much preferred that my business credit stand on it's own and avoid the personal inquiry, which is now the 9th in the last 6 months. On the upside, I was shocked to seen an instant online approval for $500K, that's half a million!

Isnt that only usable with IBM authorized vendors? Or is there a way around that? (I just looked at the front page) |

I don't know where it can be used and I'll never use it. I'm just hoping that it reports to DNB and/or Experian business report. It sure would pump up my business scores and credibility.

I assume you're talking about BT checks from personal accounts. First off, I don't use BT checks for my personal accounts because I don't want any balances on my personal credit accounts. Second, you must read the terms and conditions. Some checks MUST be used to pay directly to credit accounts or you will incur the standard Cash Advance fee, and not a promotional APR. Other checks say right on the accompanying docs that they may be used for anything and will still qualify for the promotional APR. In such case, most banks will require you to deposit the check and wait 5 business days (7 real days, for all practical purposes), for the check to clear. I would leave it blank until I get to the bank and ask them, because they are probably the ones that would return it for being completed incorrectly. Much of finance stuff is done electronically and people don't look at the checks at the credit card company level, in my opinion. From what I've read, Citi handles personal BT checks differently than business BT checks. I saw it mentioned elsewhere, but I don't remember the answer. I once requested Citi BT checks and they told me that I had to fill out who I wanted them to go to when I get them, that's all I remember. Almost all of my Citi BT transactions are done throught the website or with promo offer checks that I write directly to other creditors. The only time I took a direct deposit was when I got a phone solictation from Wells Fargo, offering to deposit the entire limit of my biz LOC into a checking and fix my interest rate at 7.9% for 6 months. At the time, I needed it bad, so I took it. It was impeccable timing for them to give me that offer. That very day, I didn't know what to do, and out of the blue, a phone call saved me.
SCM
When did you do a Citi BT? now i am nervous, i just placed one
Also can you give me the EQ phone number to request an investigation? i went to the equifax website where i have to initiate an oline dispute first, then get a confirmation # and then call a 1800 to request an investigation.
thanks superman |

So how did you increase the limit, by call them and ask them? That's it? You guys are bluffing, unless you are some sort of financial geniuses. You must show me the ways. There are different factors weighted by different creditors. I just do not see how did you pull it off. I am going to try it too, if it possible, why the hell not? Since I am good in business and now there are an easy way to get capital, I'm all in. =) |

Pyro123,
I got and used that CitiBiz BT check about May of 2005. I'll have to find my recent EQ report dated Dec. 2, 2006, which will have one of the current phone numbers, but you should pull a report and have a report number less than 2 months old to expedite investigations. I can't get the number right now on Christmas Eve because, as a gift, my wife has straightened up my office, and I haven't even seen it until tomorrow. With all those credit accounts you can just imagine the solicitations, BT checks, statements, etc, that she had to go through to organize me. She just made Christmas Eve dinner, so I'll come back shortly to answer the other questions I got.

FormerKEO,
I'm not sure which CLI you're referring to. I can tell you this. Anything I've been posting on this thread is true. I'm NOT a BS'er. Then again, I'm not an expert either, but I have encountered every success and failure that I have posted here. In addition to the Yahoo database, you there's a search engine on CreditBoards to track inquiries from creditors.

Can you share the name of the group? I searched "credit pulls" in yahoo groups but didn't get any. Thanks. |

Today, I helped DW apply for the following GE accounts:
Stein Mart MC--Deferred--EQ GE Money MC--Deferred--EQ Car Care One--Approved--EQ--$2000 Shop NBC--Approved--EQ--$2200 Thomasville--Approved--EQ--$9000 Honda Finance--Deferred--EQ Funacing--Deferred--EQ Care Credit--Approved--EQ--$20000 Boston College MC--Deferred--EQ
One of them pulled an Experian report too. I think it was the GE Money MasterCard, but I'm not sure. I went into Experian after each app to see if the app I just did pulled Experian or not. Most didn't. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if any pulled TU. I'll keep you posted about the results as they become available.

DW decided to apply for a couple more GE accounts since the inquiries are all racked up on EQ, we hope. Still no additional inquiries on Experian, only the one. Here's the 4 extras DW applied for:
Old Navy--deferred--EQ (we think) Lenscrafters--deferred--EQ(we think) JCPenney--deferred--EQ (we think) Ikea--approved--EQ (we think)--$1200
I'm going to insist that she get on the phone with EQ tomorrow and request that the inquiries be investigated.
