Looks like AMEX has new Cash Back card. Not too bad. At this point they are not converting existing cards. 5% CashBack + 1% other, credited to your statemant at end of month. No waiting.

"You will receive a Rebate of 5% for purchases of wireless telephone services, automobile gasoline, and office supplies and equipment, in each case not purchased at warehouse clubs, superstores or supermarkets. You will receive a Rebate of 1% for all other purchases."
How the OPEN/CashBack works: 1% on normal purchases 5% on wireless/gasoline/office 5.95% on OPEN purchases (5% OPEN plus 1% CashBack on net purchase--i.e. less OPEN discount) 9.75% on office/OPEN purchases (e.g. Kinkos - 5% OPEN plus 5% CashBack on net purchase)
this would be great for the 5% on wireless services. that's $30 back/year on the $600 i spend on wireless bills.

1. Cash Rebate: Your Rebate is awarded monthly on the amount of your purchases (net of credits for purchases) made during the previous billing period, based on the following structure: You will receive a Rebate of 5% for purchases of wireless telephone services, automobile gasoline, and office supplies and equipment, in each case not purchased at warehouse clubs, superstores or supermarkets (“5% Purchase(s)”). You will receive a Rebate of 1% for all other purchases. Important: You will receive a 5% Rebate only if the merchant submits the Charge for your 5% Purchase under the appropriate merchant code, industry code and required service or product identifier established by us with/for the merchant. For example, if a general merchandise retailer sells office supplies, and the retailer processes your Card transaction as a general merchandise charge instead of an office supply charge, you will receive a Rebate of 1%, not a Rebate of 5%. You will not receive a Rebate for balances transferred from other accounts, purchases of American Express Travelers Cheques or American Express Gift Cheques, fees, Finance Charges, Cash Advances and similar means of accessing your Card Account. Additional terms and conditions apply.

I was about to jump on this until I realized it won't work on Costco gas, which is where I fill up most of the time. Nice card though otherwise.

Thanks for posting OP!! This looks like a nice card. I just got my Citi Professional card because of the 3% at office supply stores (Staples and Office Depot for FW deals). I guess I will have to apply for this AMEX card for the 5% for office supply and wireless services. Thanks again!!

Is there an annual fee like most of their business cards?

The link says no annual fee for the card or any additional cards on the account you order. It also says that you can pay it in full every month, or not. So while it physically looks like one of their charge cards, it is actually a credit card.
