Here is the site:

BOA

You must be living in a state where there is no BOA B&M in order to qualify for the 250 dollars.

EXPIRES OCTOBER 31, 2006

You must be living in a state where there is no BOA B&M in order to qualify for the 250 dollars.

Is there a list of states that have no BOA B&M, somewhere?

I chatted with a Bofa CSR.

The correct offer code is YAO2 not YA02.

The offer is available to people in the following states: Vermont, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Utah, Colorado or Idaho

wonder why colorado doesn't have BoA?

because there is no BOA B&M

why do you keep bumping this thread with comments that make no sense or are incorrect?

thanks op...more ridiculous conversation in this thread than usual

direct deposit is always a pain to switch

For those of you who have already done this (or something similar) with BOA:

1. Can this be done for more than one member of the household (I didn't see anything saying it couldn't, but my fine-print reading can be a little shaky at times.)?
2. If "Yes" to #1, if I am a co-applicant for my under 13 child, and an applicant for myself, are we both going to get our bonuses?

Thanks.

Nice thanks OP. BOA has earned me over 500 this year.

Does anyone know if there's a credit pull for a B of A checking and savings if you don't currently have any accounts with them? Also, how long does the account have to stay open before you close it?

even if it is the 31st for us, we still have until midnight tonite to sign up correct?

Michigan is a no BOA state as well...

How long does the application approval process generally take? The site says it will take 4-5 business days to receive new account information, but if one were to apply today would the 10/31 deadline be met?

Trying to figure this out myself. If you find the answer, please post.

As of July 2006, Bank of America did not have a B&M in the following states:
AK, AL, CO, HI, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MS, MT, ME, NE, OH, SD, UT, VT, WI, WV and WY.

For those who can't get the $250.

Sorry if this is repeat question, but for this particular promotion, can I do it if I just did the new checking $100 bonus last month?

i dont see anywhere where it says you have to set up direct deposit. This may be a great time for me to set up an account for me my gf my mom and my sister so i cant make 1000$

Then close them all in 3 months an make a house payment.

MyAccess Checking is free with a monthly direct deposit. Otherwise, the monthly maintenance fee is $5.95 a month.

Rep I chatted with confirmed that promotion is good on today 31 Oct 2006. Wooo , good thing I held out for more money on B of A checking.

I'm just waking up and can't think straight, so help me out:

Do we get $250 just for opening checking/saving accounts or do we get up to $250 for "Keep the Change" program?

Very sweet bonus indeed, but unusual in that there are very few BofA ATMs in states where BofA lacks banking centers. I wonder what's up with this?

Monthly fee is waived for the first 2 months for checking and the first 6 for savings according to the website.

Well, by my reading of it, you get $250 for opening the account and if you sign up for "Keep the Change" you can get up to $250 that way (100% match the first 3 months, 5% thereafter). You would have to do about 300-400 transactions on the debit card to get the full $250 during the first 3 months but that would net you a total of $500 in bonus cash from BofA. Not bad.

Anyone have any idea of the harm of using a friends address in a state where this is good with my name and social to sign up?

They check your CR, so I don't think that'll work

After a cup of coffee I figured as well and opened one. Also prequalified for WorldPoints Platinum as well for another $50

Ugh yeah when they do a credit check it will prob flag you for a manual review.

This is so tempting.

So probably better off not even trying huh?

I'm taking the plunge in Ohio. Three questions I have:

1. How long before we get the money and can transfer out, cancel acocunt?
2. Will there be an account closing fee?
3. Do transfers from GMAC bank, or other ACH transfers count as Direct Deposit

I'm hoping question 3 will be irrelevant as I'd like to have my money out and account closed before the free 3 months of checking expires.

ACH counts as DD.

Skipping 278 Messages...

I got the same message about "45 days". When it had been 45 days, I reminded them, and they said they needed to research to see if I qualified. I pasted their original email to my new email saying they had already decided I was eligible, so please send check. They then said they sent the check, but 2 weeks later no check. I emailed again to let them know I still hadn't received the check, they said the check went to the wrong address. FINAALY they did a deposit to the saving account. This happened on April 25th, nearly 6 months after opening the account.

So I would keep trying, sending them their own emails that the code was correct.... and we did not have to set up Direct deposit - it was not a requirement.

I will say that when I tried by phone to get the promotion, the supervisor absolutely refused to credit the account, saying that I had to make a deposit at the time of opening the account, even though I was given the option to send a check in within 30 days, and I did so. Email worked out much better for me.

Hope this helps and good luck.
