bongoking said:I received the checks from PNC, it says "at your request we are providing you with 10 convenience checks that access your Consumer credit card. Convenience checks can be used where personal checks are accepted. Just write in any amount up to your available credit. Check amounts will be deducted from your available credit on your monthly credit card statement. Use your convenience checks to : consolidate higher rate credit card debt, write a check to yourself..." it looks good to me. That wording is vague, but if these are the checks that came after you opened the account, they were considered a BT for me. |

I called them to ask for a CLI, and details about those convenience checks, so they are BT checks with 0% APR no fee, I requested them from the web site, so no need to wait for a month to get them. It was too late for the CLI, they said to call back tomorrow during business hours |

called pnc again for the CLI, she let me hold for a while, and then told me to call another number tomorrow (1-800-364-9648) about the CLI. I asked again about those checks, she told me they have a fee, and I should wait for the 3 welcome checks that won't have a fee.

They can also send out a BT check directly. If you have a place to wash this through, that might be a good option. The welcome checks take a long time to come. However, if you are going to be making it to yourself, it is easiest to just wait for the checks. |

According to this thread, it appears that some issuers (at least Citi and Discover) allow you to have only a certain number of cards: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=52&threadid=547602&highlight_key=y&keyword1=FAQ
Is this really true? Does anybody have more that 3 Citi and 4 Discover cards? Both Citi and Discover are nice because they have these 0%/No BT fee promos. it would be sad to be limited to a certain number...
thanks. |

Pulled credit score with BofA, and it looks like I have bottomed out at 638, which is a little over a 100 point drop. The numbers differ slightly from all 3 bureaus, but pretty consistent though.
Interesting Positive Factors: You have 5 installment loan(s).
Interesting Negative Factors: You owe debt on 10 revolving account(s). This only includes accounts you opened in the past 12 months. You are currently using at least 50% of your credit limit on 6 open bankcard(s). You opened 19 account(s) in the past 24 months. You applied for credit 16 time(s) in the past 12 months
Also, I did the credit analyzer, and it said that once all my balances are paid off, my score should rise by 119 points to 756. |
