I got signed up/preapproved for a BofA credit card that I didn't even ask for and they opened the account without my asking. Now I'm not sure if I should just cancel the account or keep the card as I'm not sure how this would affect my credit score.
BofA told me that if I choose to close the account they would add "customer never requested account" so that my score would not be affected. I try to keep fewer credit cards and only have about 2 or 3 total.
Should I look into how good the card itself really is and see if I should keep the card and use it?
TIA. Edit by Moderator: Thank you for your participation. Please note that there is also discussion about this topic Here.
How about tipping off the underpaid BofA clerks to make a quick buck on deals here on FW? Maybe that way they won't sign up people for their cards, to get a bonus (and it seems it happens quite frequently, a similar story is posted on FW quite so often).

I can't belive BofA is still pulling off this kind of crap on their customers. It's been so long and obvious that they need to crack it down.
I try to use the ATM only for check deposits as much as possible

Really? Such shenanigans were apparently common years ago, but I thought that they had been sanctioned by all of the banks. I guess not. As the saying goes, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"
