Anyone find out if you can do CLI online yet?

I actually went looking for this a week or two ago.

I remember the thread someone posted here with the URL to the online CLI request form for BofA. I came back with some inane comment like "who cares? can't you just do that from the standard screen?" before finding out that the customers in Washington and Idaho have links that most BofA customers don't.

Well the links are gone for me now too, so I started looking for that handy dandy URL. No luck. Guess that's God's way of telling me I don't need a CLI.

Thread is called "BOA online credit line increase, no hard pull". The post by jinwings is archived.

The CLI button is back at BofA, both for my one "real" BofA card, and my former MBNA card.

When looking at your card's account details, on the left side of the window, it shows your available credit, any temporary authorizations, and then there's a hyperlink to "Request a Credit Line Increase". You are then whisked to a page where you are asked for profession, income, and housing payment.

There is the interesting disclaimer at the top "This request will not result in an inquiry to your credit report unless you are notified that is is required, and the decision will not have any impact on your credit history".

So... maybe it's a soft pull, and maybe hard? I clicked the request just to see what happen. Got a message that I should get a response within around a week. There was not an instant hard pull from clicking the button.

Immediatly below that, this is what appears on my CLI screen:

"To request an increased line of credit, complete the form and click the "Request Credit Line Increase" button. By clicking the "Request Credit Line Increase" button, you authorize Bank of America to review your credit and employment histories and any other information in order to process this application, service your account and manage our relationship with you."

To me, this means yes, we will pull your credit report.

Ha. They bumped one of my cards from $9K to $20K (the amount I requested). I thought I was reaching. The card had $8,000 at 0% too. Maybe it's time to reallocate from my $13K card to create my first $25K+ credit line. And then CLI the other card.

OK after reading this thread i logged on to checkout my jets card, my account is like 6mo old and maybe a few days, I got a instant increase to 6k, since my browser crashed after i hit next, i tried it again since the increase wasnt reflected right away I didnt think it went through i tried to put in 10k, but it said somthing like they will look over it and either it ill be grnated and u can see in account manger thing or you should get a letter. Ayways i got 6k to use now for a BT which is much better then the original 2k. As soon as i figure out how to get my mbna card reg im longover due for a CLI! woo

No hard pull. Just checked my credit reports. Although, given the big increase, I would have been happy even if I got one.

I went in and asked for a CLI. I wanted an increase from $14,000 to $25,000. I got the "you have to wait one business day for our decision. If yes, you will know by tomorrow (by checking online), if no, then I have to wait 5-7 business days for a reason".

Will report back tomorrow with findings.

Well, the good , bad and ugly.

Good: BofA increased my CL from $14,000 to $25,000!

Bad: BofA reduced my MBNA CL from $14,400 to $5,400...

Ugly: The new combined credit is now $30,400 so I effectively gained an additonal $2,000 in credit.

Ouch. I requested a CLI on my $13K card and got bumped to $15K (asked for $25K) but didn't take a hit on my other card. I managed to score an extra $13K in credit for the price of two clicks and no pulls. Not bad at all. Waiting for the payment to go through on one card so I can reallocate to create a $30K+ line.

This ended up being a good informative thread. I have hooked it up to the master thread.

Does anyone have any idea how long you should wait before requesting another CLI from BOA? I just did one w/the newly-reappeared online button (asked for a fairly modest $2500 bump and received it immediately w/no hard pull) and am now wondering if I should have requested more. lol.

Started at 7K, used the link and asked for 15k. Gave me the wait a day message, logged in a few hours later and was met by a 15k limit - FYI for all

What service do you use? Do you get FAKOS or FICOS? How much does it cost?

I am going to get a service, but am not sure which to use.

Has anyone left the CLI Requested Box blank? The form says:

We will determine the highest credit line for which you qualify based on your credit standing and the information you provide. If you have a particular amount in mind, please enter that amount below.

Perhaps many are selling yourselves short.

Just did both an mbna & a boa online same time, leaving cli amount blank; got instant 20% on each-- 21 to 25.2 & 10 to 12 respectively...both just under 6mo old & totally unused.

Hmm - I am utilized at $13,700 on my $14,200 CL mbna card and $7,500 on my $7,500 bofa card - so there would be no chance of re-allocating if I pulled CLI button. However, I don't want to pull it at such high util - it's going to go down in a few days as my statement closing date nears. Then again - maybe I should be greedy. It's been more than a year since my last mbna CLI and my bofa is 6mo+ old now.
