Same here. BofA's web form clearly says no hard pull, but it did a hard pull after all. Stinking liars. |

Great Coincidentally I requested CLIs on all of my accounts with BofA this morning. Hopefully they didn't hard pull each one...
On the plus side, results are, I got $22k in new credit lines across 4 accounts. |

Tried this on two of my BoA accounts.
One had a credit limit of 36,000 and I got it up to 43,000 instantly. I got the 20% increase leaving the field blank. I have had the card since 2000 though.
Other card only had 600 left on it after a reallocation 6 months ago but it did go up to 800, just didn't want to push my luck as I was happy with the other line increase.
Thanks! |

Did an online request this morning. Was at $33,600 and instantly approved for $40,400; I did not specify a requested amount. We'll see if we get a hard pull. |

Is it legitimate to dispute if you get a hard pull? |

How often do you guys hit the cli button for boa? Do they keep track and deny you if you request too often? |

I did it every three months until I hit a brick wall. The last two times I got a phone call from a CSR (I did the CLI online) asking me questions. It spooked (they quoted every income amount I had stated previously) me and they also said I had plenty of credit and denied me.
So until I can honestly list a higher, VERIFIABLE income, I'm not touching it. (My BoA/FIA credit lines are 60% of my stated income, for the curious). |

In factoring our decision for a credit line increase on a personal account, your account performance and credit status will be reviewed. This request will not result in an inquiry to your credit report unless you are notified that it is required, and the decision will not have any impact on your credit history.
To request an increased line of credit, complete the form and click the "Request Credit Line Increase" button. By clicking the "Request Credit Line Increase" button, you authorize Bank of America to review your credit and employment histories and any other information in order to process this application, service your account and manage our relationship with you.
* = required
First paragraph say's no pull but looks like the second paragraph says a pull is required. Very confusing. I went ahead and did this morning and got a call back from an analysts a couple hours later. Just updated my TrueCredit and no pull as of yet. Will check again tomorrow |

Just updated my report again and still no pull. So looks like no hard was done. Maybe it helped with premier relationship? When I hit the button it said I would receive an answer in a day and then a senior credit analyst called me within 2 hours. She knew what I had in my BoA accounts and also still had the docs that I submitted when I was denied an increase right after I got the card 6 months ago. So it looks like my new bank relationship with BoA really helped get my increase this time |

Scott, things may have changed now with BoA, but back in the MBNA days, this meant:
a) you may get an instant increase b) if not, then we may do a SOFT pull with your consent
So far, my experience with BoA has beeen
a) you PROBABLY WILL NOT get an instant increase, but it is POSSIBLE b) if not, then we may do a SOFT pull WITHOUT your consent c) if this is a business CC, ignore (b) and we will do a HARD pull WITHOUT your consent: that's why we make you call for a business CC CL increase rather than let you do it online with the above paragraphs (we may even pull from 2 agencies too)
As usual, YMMV, but that is what I am experiencing. The last two inquiries to increase my business line were worth it though. I extended my 0% w/ no fee longer and doubled my CL. So BT I went. |

Thanks for that info Cyclone, Just went back to my report and checked soft pulls and see BoA did do a soft pull. So very nice, Got increase, No hard and then closed that BoA and reallocated CL to my FIA. Everything falling into place for another AoR. This one will not be "accidental" |

No hard pull for me either. By the way, which report lets you know about soft pulls? |

On TrueCredit you can click on "Found Inaccuracy" and then get a more detailed report on Transunion and Experian. These reports will show soft's. I think you can do the same with AMEX credit secure |

I stated in another thread entitled "maximum BofA credit lines" that I recently overdid the online BofA Credit line increases. I had two cards, one at 35K the other 30K. I asked for 42K on higher (aprox 90K HHI) and received letters about the credit department looking into my accounts. They wanted to close or reduce the lines. My other option was to send in proof of 100K liquid assets. I reduced the lines to a total of 35K. Lesson: beware of being greedy here. |
