I looked for this in other threads but didn't find it, so here goes:
I'd been having some trouble making my payments through the Bank of America website, where I use their Billpay service, and apparently the hangup in their system involves not checking your mail. I spoke to a customer service representative tonight, and she said it's a common problem they are aware of, but people might just get frustrated, or miss their payment, so I figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to pass it along.
All you have to do is go in and read the new messages, sign yourself out, and sign back in and the problem should be resolved!
WOW, IT WORKS!! I was already giving up hope on getting the MBNA BillPay to ever work again, and now all my MBNA credit cards are once again available to pay bills. Yipee!! THANK YOU THANK YOU for the great tip!! Thumbs down to the BoA web team, however.
Doesn't work for me. A CSR mentioned something to me today about reentering my email address of record, which also didn't work.
Going on my second month without bill pay. Thank god I read on FW the ability to at least request to have my regularly scheduled billpays cancelled. I think its fair to say BofA suffers from gross incompetence in their people responsible for online operations. On so many levels this is unacceptable for one of the biggest banks in the world...if simply for the fact that I can not pay my credit card bill online, not to mention losing the MBNA bill pay ability and the maddening error message that keeps telling me all will be well in 2 business days.
