pkomma said:Truecrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) is an extremely powerful, free, encryption tool. Easy to use, and can encrypt usb keys, and chunks of your file system. Just make a small encrypted space (you can even create hidden encrypted spaces) and put files in there. As long as somebody doesn't have a keystroke logger to record the password to get in (use a strong password that is different from common ones) you can put lists of other passwords in there.

Thanks for typing this for me. Those neg votes must be from annoyed NSA cipher analysts.

fallenangel99 said:I use Any Password Link. There is a freeware version and it's really simple to use. You can also protect the password file such that when you want to look up a password, it will prompt you for the master password.
I'll second this. I have used Any Password for a few years and find it very reliable.

I've used this program for years: http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/pins.html

Bit old, but freeware and good encryption. Plus you can stick the entire program on a USB key with problem (no installation program, just copy the program directory and the password file).

I also strongly recommend Roboform. I've used several password managers in the past (including KeePass) and RF is simply the BEST at what it does!

Autologin (for IE or Firefox) is its best feature. RF's second best feature is its ability to generate and store strong passwords for you. This combination makes it an invaluable tool for AOR'ing.

I have it on Excel...the file is at least three years old & gets bigger LOL.

But I do have backup copies with password (not that Excel has the best password encryption, etc but whatever) & also on my USB keychain.

I just installed KeePass the other day - and I don't see where this option is? Is this one of the plug-ins?

With KeePass Opened. Tools->Options->Setup...Then set the Global auto-type hot key combination. I use "CTRL" ALT" "A", very easy to hit with one hand. For the more advance settings refer to the help section, it will list everything you need. Help->Help Contents->Feature Descriptions->Auto Type.

Browser of choice: Opera with its "wand" feature -- either click the icon or hit CNTL Enter to automatically fill in login and password and enter the site. Also fantastic form-fill for personal info.

For Internet Explorer, ALPass available at http://www.altools.net. Used RoboForm free for years (still have older version with 30 logins on two computers), but have found it unwieldy at times.

Roboform works great for me--it's worth the money.

I keep my passwords on my PDA using Ilium eWallet (for PocketPC). That way I have all my info at home and at work. Passwords, account numbers, membership IDs, etc. are nicely categorized. Data are synchronized with the Desktop every time the PDA is plugged in for passive backup. Both the PDA and Desktop eWallet require a PIN to access. Now if only I can find a place to store my eWallet PIN, maybe a tattoo?

Another vote for KeePass. The PC software is very powerful and there is a PPC port available. If you set up your password DB to be in your PPC docs folder, it will sync with activesync and you'll have access to all your passwords on the go.

always keep that ( not the whole password ) in excel spreadsheet ...

i have most in my memory and different levels of passwords (some for email, forums, and others for banks, financials). I also keep a simple text document with logins and partial passwords. Every one of my passwords starts or ends with something I remember but do not write down (always has capitals and numbers).

Ex written password: mypassword01 - Real password: PrE09mypassword01

Is there a way in Roboform to print out all of your User IDs/Passwords?

I've been using the Ilium wallet for password mgmt. I can synch it with my Pocket PC and works great for a one time amt of 30$.

Another vote for Roboform. I have it installed on 3 computers and a usb drive. I use goodsync to keep them all up to date!

i actually use a program on my blackberry to store passwords and usernames. to enter the program you have to enter a password. I think its called keystore and it can also generate passwords for you.

To have added secucuity, I don't spell my pw's out, just put in a letter or number to jog my memory.
