FWF Finance Guru's please advise, I have 2 citi cards already and had applied for another about 4 months ago, and was rejected because they said I had too many Citi cards. What should I do if i want to get another citi card (I'm wanting to get the drivers edge). should i just apply and see what happens, or should I cancle my other cards (zero balance and not much use now that i've gotten the bonus points and paid off the 0%BTs) and then would I need to wait a while to apply or would what? Just curious as to what the experts have to say. TIA! |

I had 4 Citi cards, last one obtained in Oct '07, applied for Prof. Card about a month ago and got it, so I currently have a total of 5. There's a couple cards I don't ever use, so I'm thinking about canceling them as it seems banks are closing inactive cards rather aggressively nowadays |

Citi is telling me the promotion I signed up for was only for 11,000 bonus points. I had signed up for the 12,500 though. How do I prove to them what I signed up for because speaking to someone didn't work? Unless I just get someone else on the phone? |

I'm not sure, same thing happened to me. I would be curious to know if anyone has any insight. I had just written it off as a loss. |

You should always print out a copy of the terms of the promotion when you apply. This type of thing seems to happen a lot. Maybe you will get lucky and somebody will have a copy for you. Otherwise try persistence and ask for supervisors...threatening to cancel your citi cards might help. Ultimately unless you have some sort of proof that they are not fulfilling their obligations, you might be out of luck. |

I have a printed a copy of the page showing 15,000 points. If anyone is interested in getting it, PM me. Edit: Sorry. I am referring to the Citi platinum American Express Card. pras |
