good to know, thanks...I just got my card today. Made a quick google video purchase, do we have to wait for the statement to close for the TY points to show up? Guess I'm wondering how you know you got the extra 5k points?

Sorry, I should clarify. What I meant was I managed to sign up under the bonus 5k points offer. I still havent received any points yet though.

My 15,000 Thank You points were posted to my account today!

Ya gotta love signup bonuses. I'm probably up to $2k or so in the last year with cash and GC's, at only short-term cost to my credit score.

Did the statement with your first purchase close already?

Yes. Actually, I purchased something and then paid it off immediately (as soon as it was posted online) so that I could get the balance transfer money a few days later (didn't want a purchase on there before the balance transfer as most CC companies apply payments to the lowest APR items on your bill first). The statement closed two days ago and the points were available as of yesterday....and my wife spent the points a few minutes later!

I was told this Citi Professional is a business card. But it does not have a business name like any other card I applied. Just a bit confused.

Does anyone know this Citi Professional will show up on your credit report?

This is *not* a business card according to Citi. It also is under my personal Citi card login and not the business one.

As an aside my statement closes on the 23rd and I am angsting for those pts

I spoke to a CSR when re-allocated my Citi Dividend credit limet to my Citi Professional. Was told it IS a business card.

It is a business card eventhough it is put under personal log in.

look at from where your welcome letter is sent - chances are it is from Jacksonville, FL, instead of from S Dakota or Nevada.

Also you cannot consolidate it with other personal cards.

I had this last year for the 10K bonus back then. When I tried to close it via consolidation I was told it could not be done because it is a business card.

You dont even go thru the same phone menu when you call the no. at the back of the Professional card.

So this means it doesn't show on personal credit report?

If you use your SSN to apply, it WILL SHOW on your personal report, business or not business.

Many have applied true business cards using SSN as Tax ID - those cards also show up on your report.

People have reported mixed success reallocating from personal CLs to the Professional because of its ambiguous classifcation. Since I'm about to do a BT with the Professional, I reallocated from 2 personal cards to this card last night. The CSR didn't heistate, took down my acct #s, and told me a supervisor would have to approve it (takes 72 hours he said). This jives with my earlier successful reallocation between Citi biz cards so I can wait. I'll report back if I remember, but I'd keep trying with different CSRs if you want that reallocation....

I am currently not a CITI customer (no account with citi) and I neither don't have any cc from citi. Does anyone know will I get the 15,000 thankyou points if I apply this card? Thanks!

alert mods

Yes, after 1st purchase.

Citi consolidated CL's from 2 of my other personal cards with the new Pro card that I just got, so I'm not sure why they would have a problem with it for anyone. I also think the Pro card is a personal card.

I'm still a little confused about the ThankYou Network. Am I suppose to register on the ThankYou Network website on my own or does my account I made on the Citi cards website carry over?

I registered.

It doesn't matter. They automatically create one for you if you don't register beforehand. If you do, just add the CC number to your TY account, and all your points will go into the account you created.

Also... Re: GTFan Citi consolidated CL's from 2 of my other personal cards with the new Pro card that I just got, so I'm not sure why they would have a problem with it for anyone. I also think the Pro card is a personal card.
I've tried a few times reallocating CL's from 3 other lines to the Professional card. I've been successful only once, the other times being told either the Professional's considered a business card so they don't allow reallocation with personal cards, or that it'll take 24 hours, after which nothing will happen.

It seems hit or miss for most people. The other thing that I suspect is they'll allow reallocation when you first have/activate the card, but it gets harder later on? I don't know. It's annoyed me to no end because I have a no fee BT to do on this card when I get the CL I want moved over.

GTFan said:I've seen others post that Citi's limit is 4. I had 4 cards with them (all the Dividends and Diamonds) and they closed my Diamond Rewards AMEX to give me the Pro card for this deal. They didn't call, just sent a letter telling me. No big deal because I wasn't using it anyway and just got it last year, but I agree that they should call you first to ask. Can't argue with 15k free points though.

I got nabbed on the 3+ card thing (had a Diamond Rewards, added a Cit AMEX, Citi Professional, and tried for the other Citi Business card after getting impatient with the Professional lagging). The only thing I could think of that would cause Citibank to think I have four cards is my wife's Diamond Rewards is somehow linked to me (which would be odd because she had it pre-marriage and didn't add me).
