Did another MetLife 12 month 2.25%. It's not on our CD list but about the best rate you will find for a nationally available 12 month CD. Very easy to open and great CSR. From talking to them it seems they are about to stop this promo and wanted to give a heads up

Regarding Discover Bank's $25 1-year CD Bonus:

As you sign up, when you get to the "where to you hear about us" question, check "newspaper ad." I have noticed that if you check "exisiting customer, the offer code disappears. If you check "internet" it appends an "I" to the code.

I spoke to a CSR; she told me the bonus is good for any new CD account. It sounded like she was reading from the "CSR handbook" so it must be true

We'll see what happens in 90 days...

I received the offer too, but it's not nationally available, and the $2.5K maximum isn't so great.
