Please read the posting information before you post rates on page 1. It says:
Posted offerings should generally be OPEN NATIONWIDE TO ALL PERSONS - NO GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS. Other minimal restrictions should be made with a notation

Actually, I'm not sure that there are geographic restrictions. I came across the deal because I live nearby, but didn't ask if there were restrictions on who could apply.

I also saw "Must have AmericanDream SavingsAccount" in several entries; not a geographic restriction, but highly restrictive nonetheless.

The AmericanDream SavingsAccount is available to all. With no fees and minimums for the account, this is certainly one of the easier restrictions to meet to qualify for a high rate cd.

If you're referring to Amtrust 9m. @ 5.75%, I did a walk-in, but only because I live in the area. I didn't ask if they were strictly for walk-in.

I will call the branch on Monday and update this thread. Since some object to my posting the rate, I will remove the info if geographic restrictions apply.

I talked to branch csr this am:

* Walk-in only.
* Soft credit pull.

You can try your luck with other branches on rate match - ymmv of course. Apologies for mis-posting; will delete entry on 1st page.

good idea to read the rules of this thread,
>Only FDIC Insured Banks in the USA as well as NCUA Insured Credit Unions with NO or MINIMAL restrictive membership requirements will be listed in the main rates section. Non federally insured Credit Unions will be listed in a separate section.

I did read the rules before I posted this. Anyone can join Patelco CU for $20, but this month they are offering free membership. I thought the main rate section was those posted on the first page of this thread. Where is the seperate section for non federally insured credit unions or did I need to post a new thread in the finance forum?

Thanks,
Dupontcobb

Thanks, DupontcobbNo new thread needed. Here's a commonly overlooked general credit union thread.

No new thread needed. Here's a commonly overlooked general credit union thread.

A lot of great credit union rates that don't meet the criteria for inclusion on the cd thread have been posted on the credit union thread. However, for non federally insured Credit Unions that are open to all, rates should go under the "Non NCUA Insured Credit Union CDS" section near the bottom of the quick summary on this thread.

PenFed is now advertising 5.25% apy on a 36 month share certificate on the main page of their website.

EDIT: ...but now the rates section is updated with a rate of 6.25% apy for certificates with terms of 3,4,5, & 7 years.

EDIT: And it is See the rate tables.
