I read "I understand that the annual fee is $300 for the Basic Card and $150 for each Additional Card." at the bottom of my Platinum application.
The business platinum card has the $300 annual fee, while the platinum cash rebate has none. |

So, really we can only get one of these cards for a 250 dollar bonus?
Hey, poster above, who did 4 cards for him and his wife, how do you plan to avoid that annual fee they are gonna hit you with? |

Smooth said:Looking at the bottom of each application confirms you get a $250 cash credit for any one of the cards you apply for. I heartily recommend that you make screen shots when applying for cards that have this offer. Definitely — or in my case, ripped PDF's of every single page in the transaction (including the terms).
I expect to get this. AMEX has been bombarding me with offers, and this will nicely cover my two naughty DVD boxsets from DDD totaling $258. Good deal, and GREEN for you OP.

This promotional offer pertains to a specific American Express® Business Card product, please reference the OPEN Savings® Summary on your monthly billing statement or online at open.AmericanExpress.com to determine Card eligibility.
Only the Gold and Platinum charge cards display the icon on the application page. The Platinum card does not waive the fee for the first year, so the Gold card is the safe bet.
This is true, however:
To redeem this offer, the Cardmember must activate and make the first purchase on the Platinum Delta Skymiles Business Credit Card between December 15, 2006 and April 30, 2007. The $250 statement credit will appear on your monthly billing statement following your first single eligible purchase. The maximum discount available is $250.00. This promotional offer pertains to a specific American Express® Business Card product, please reference the OPEN Savings® Summary on your monthly billing statement or online at open.AmericanExpress.com to determine Card eligibility. You may be permitted to have more than one American Express® Business Card account; however, you are eligible to receive only one promotional $250 statement credit per unique business. Participation and offers are subject to change without notice. |

Ouch. No instant approval on the cash rebate card. Approval on the gold card last month was instant. Really hoping I don't get an "additional information" call in which I have to explain my new "consulting" business. |

You could explain that you consult people on how to make money from credit card application deals & rewards points, etc...maybe I better tell my wife that she applied for this card in case she gets a call !! |

Is a $250 credit more valuable than the AMEX 20,000 points offer? I'm planning to apply for either one but can't figure out which offer would yield the most. |

I sure hope it lasts until the first week of January, at least. Need it for my app-o-rama!

Thanks,
No word on that in the fine print, honestly. But even so, whatever you'd normally spend on another card for $250, if this were a requirement, could just be spent on this one. You would've bought it anyway... that's my philosophy on requirements like that. |

What are you all listing as your business name and are you leaving the TIN # blank if you don't have one or are you listing your SS# instead? |

In the past people have had success using their full name as the business name and their SS# as the TIN#.
In fact, many small businesses ARE named after the owner (Joe Bloe Enterprises, John Smith Contractor, etc.). |

I had applied for a business gold card over a year ago that I cancelled about 2 months ago just before the one year anniversary. I also was able to get in on the business premium cash rebate deal earlier in the year but that card is still open. Which card will be best to apply for this time? Since the cash rebate card has no annual fee it would save the hassle of cancelling later but then they could refuse it saying I already have this card. Is it safer to go with business gold card? |

Option 1) 20,000 points = $200 Option 2) 5,000 points + $250 = $300
What do you want ??? $200 or $300 ??? |
