wow i received the card today but was totally expecting a loss deal because I signed up through the later link provided. After I completed and submitted the form I received a message stating that my app was not processed (or something along those lines). Also received the same ame x letter for the $130 credit. Will this be credited towards my new card? |

Wife and I each received 2 letters regarding the $130 credit. Unfortunately, the accounts have since been closed, so I'm not sure if we'll actually get the $130 or not. -cp |

I got this email from them. You recently contacted us regarding your account. I have found that with your Business Gold Card, there will be a bonus of 5,000 and 20,000 Membership Rewards points 6-8 weeks after the qualifying first purchase is made. These points can be redeemed for a domestic airline ticket. It does not have an offer of a $250.00 statement credit and these two offers would not be combined. I hope this information has been helpful. Sincerely, /N. King Email Servicing Team American Express Interactive Services What the h..?

For those who are big spenders, this could be a good card (those with substantial business expenses) to continue usig. If you spend $80,000, the rebate is $1600 which is 2% of the spending. I know of no other cards out there that can exceed 2% in cash on general spending.I have a couple of 2% Fidelity 529 cards, but they no longer issue these (and it has a cap on points that can be earned). I also have a General Motors card that gives 5%, but only towards your next General Motors car (and they no longer issue this card) they are also giving you interest free purchases until February of 2008, which somewhat compensates for the .5% rebate on the first $20,000 of spending. At $40,000 your rebate is 1.5%, which is the same as a Fidelity 1.5% card. Many small businesses will spend this much in a year, eppecially when there are several employees and selling something solid rather than mere services (think construction). |

I've had this AMEX GOLD REWARDS card approaching a year and love getting the giftcards for my points, I don't really want to cancel but refuse to pay annual fees for cc. I called to find out my exact expiration date or when renewal fee is applied, and rep said to call back when I plan to cancel and see if I can get "loyalty credits". Has anyone attempted to cancel and then been persuaded to keep the card because of fee waivers or loyalty credits that make it worth the fee? |

Can someone post the original 250 PDF, pleeeease? AMEX is saying they cannot find the original 250 promo code. I just called too. Looks like we are not getting the 250 on the original offer They said they will refer the case to marketing who originally offerred the promo and "see what they can do about it"... |

Got this from AMEX: Thank you for your e-mail about your Membership Rewards account. Please excuse the delay in responding to your e-mail. We have experienced higher than normal volumes in inquiries to our Servicing Center. Below is the offer in from the Website. Please note that there are 2 separate Bonus ID's. One for 5,000 points and the additional one for 20,000 points. They will be issued separately. To be eligible to earn bonus points you must be enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program at the time of purchase and charge your purchases to an eligible, enrolled American Express® Card. Apply for the Business Gold Rewards Card and make a purchase by 12/31/07. Upon the Basic Cardmember's first purchase, a one time bonus of 25,000 points can be earned toward the Basic Business Gold Rewards Cardmember's Membership Rewards® account and may appear as separate credits of 5,000 and 20,000 bonus points. The maximum 25,000 bonus points are available to first-time Basic Business Gold Rewards Cardmembers only; they are not available if you transfer an existing account. Welcome bonus points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account 6 to 8 weeks after your first purchase appears on your monthly billing statement. The bonus 25,000 Membership Rewards points may be redeemed for one domestic round-trip airline ticket. Cardmembers transferring points to participating domestic airlines will be charged a fee of $.0005 per point, up to $75. This charge is to offset the excise taxes American Express currently pays to the government on such transactions. Bonus IDs: 9238 and 6416. |

Was there a min purchase requirement or does anyone have the exact wording? I've been getting ignored after having been promised a decision in "ten days" about 40 days ago. even my last email to them was ignored. I would like to recite the offer to them since they claim they dont remember.

Check your accounts. $250 credit mysteriously showed up on one of my cards recently. AMEX must have done something. I hadn't previously complained about a missing $250, didn't know I was owed anything. The note next to the credit says something about a promo credit after first time purchase even though first purchase was like 6-8 months ago. Thought I had already gotten everything I was going to get from this card but its the gift that keeps on giving. Had the 25,000 rewards points, the $130 thingy, now another $250 By the way, if you try to cancel, they always give you something. $40 to stay, multiple times, then enough rewards points to cover the cost of the annual fee. This is great because the card has roadside assistance so it can replace a AAA membership, and all free if you play it right. |
