Same deal as last time, you get $250 for opening each card. Annual fee for the Gold card is waived for the first year. There is no annual fee for the Platinum Cash card. You'll see the $250 credit details at the bottom of the app when you apply for the cards - you just have to make one purchase (any amount) from now until 4/30/07 to get it.

Note fine print - You may be permitted to have more than one American Express® Business Card account; however, you are eligible to receive only one promotional $250 statement credit per unique business. Participation and offers are subject to change without notice.

So it looks like you can have it for one card or the other, but not the $500 for both that we got last time.

Update: This link is dead now, call them via number below if still interested...

Previous offer posted here

Mad props to IamWildBill for this update:
Well, I was having the same problems that everyone is having about getting approved. I then did some research and came across a phone number to call to apply for the same offer. The lady took my application over the phone, was well aware of the $250 statement credit, and never once asked about anything other than if I received the offer through a magazine or mailing. The number is 866-690-4852. She then told me that the proper number to check the status of a card through this offer is 800-297-4400.

PDF which clearly shows the $250 Statement Credit with first purchase AND the 5000 bonus pts.
AMEX $250 GOLD Statement Credit + 5000 bonus Points

Deal is still alive as of 15:30 EST 12/19, but it won't be for long.
edit: Appears to still be alive at 2 a.m. PST 12/22.
update: applied for Gold Reward on 12/23, status showed up 12/24, approved on 12/27 or earlier.
edit: alive 12/24
edit: finally dead as of 1/9. This one lasted a lot longer than last time, they must've had too much holiday punch .

Looks like you can earn an additional 5,000 bonus points with your first purchase on the business gold rewards card.

Gold offer Terms and Conditions.

App status link

Question: If you received the $250 (or multiples of) during the late March-early April applications, would this be considered a new promotion, or would the fact that a bonus for the previous offer was already received disqualify current cardholders?

READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU APPLY - YOU WANT TO APPLY FOR THE NO-FEE/1ST YEAR FEE-WAIVED CARDS which are: Platinum Business PREMIUM CASH REBATE card and the GOLD REWARDS CARD. The other Platinum card has a $300 yearly fee while the Delta card has $125 annual fee - I suggest you stay clear of them.

Looks like you might be able to call 1-866-690-4852 and apply over the phone. Mentioning the Inc. magazine offer for a $250 credit might be in order if the rep does not know about the offer for the card you are applying for (Business Gold or Platinum Cash Rebate).

Yes, subject to their approval. Just put down a different business name.

do they check these business names?

Looks like you can earn an additional 5,000 bonus points with your first purchase on the business gold rewards card.

You're automatically enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program, so you can earn points toward travel and shopping rewards.[3] With one point for virtually every dollar you spend, plus the extra points you can earn when you reach certain milestones, you could earn up to 100,000 points in your first year:

5,000 bonus points with your first purchase
5,000 bonus points for reaching $20,000 in spending
20,000 bonus points for reaching $50,000 in spending
10,000 bonus points for your first one-year Card renewal
60,000 points if you spend an average of just $5,000 a month

Am I reading this correctly?

Yep same offer as last time....bonus 5,000 points in addition to $250 after first qualifying purchase. Wife and I ordered another 4 cards (2 gold, 2 plat. cash rebate) using 4 different business names. Easy $1k yet again....AMEX is a great credit card bank to boot....cheers OP!

According to the previous thread, no. A SSN will do if one doesnt have a federal tax ID. Read the older thread for more info.

With the fee waived (for business gold) for the first year, this is an awesome deal ($250 + 5,000 points). I am going to apply tomorrow, and report back with any findings.

For those signing up for the cash card, I don' think you get the $250 statement credit do you?

Only platinum charge card or gold charge card. ??? When you click on the cash card, the $250 credit logo goes away.

Looking at the bottom of each application confirms you get a $250 cash credit for any one of the cards you apply for. I heartily recommend that you make screen shots when applying for cards that have this offer.

Going whole hog on multiple cards using multiple business names could well earn you an unpleasant financial review. --So be moderate. Oh, and thanks OP (green, of course).--You may want to edit thread title to list all four cards offered (adding Delta and Platinum).

Comment: The terms state: "You are eligible to receive only one promotional $250 statement credit per unique business. Participation and offers are subject to change without notice." If you got the similar offer on a card or cards last year for your business, will you be eligible this year, on the same business name (for one $250 credit)? Seems this should pertain to applications made on this offer, but if anyone finds out otherwise, please post. Thanks.

Also, seems wise to act fairly soon, as last year's offer "faded" away, with the Web site suddenly becoming unreliable for a week or two, and then the offer disappearing.

All the best.

-----------------------------

For the Business Platinum Card ($300) it actually lists "BVG" (ERRONEOUSLY, as no longer listed as a feature on this business card on the AMEX site) as a feature of this card.

Using the original link, select any card and click on "Learn More", then the "compare cards" tab, then scroll down to the Security section:

$500,000 Travel Accident Insurance

Premium Global Assist, 24-hour emergency referrals when traveling
...

Best Value Guarantee

Yeah, I noticed that too. The image goes away for the Cash card and the Delta card, but the fine print remains. Hmm...

The key line in the fine print is this:

This promotional offer pertains to a specific American Express® Business Card product, please reference the OPEN Savings® Summary on your monthly billing statement or online at open.AmericanExpress.com to determine Card eligibility.

Only the Gold and Platinum charge cards display the icon on the application page. The Platinum card does not waive the fee for the first year, so the Gold card is the safe bet.

Do you actually have to have a business to get these business cards? Or is it sufficient to use your SSN for tax ID and your name as the business name? Thanks

alert mods

You may be permitted to have more than one American Express® Business Card account; however, you are eligible to receive only one promotional $250 statement credit per unique business.I'm also wondering whether this sentence doesn't make us ineligible for this offer, if we took advantage of the March/April $250 promo.

I thought we dont have to provide TIN, but it says the following AFTER I COMPLETED 1ST PAGE OF APPLICATION WITHOUT TIN

"
By providing your Tax Identification Number (TIN), you can improve your chances of getting a 60-second decision. If you leave this field blank, you WILL be asked to provide your TIN at a later date in order to comply with Federal law. "

I really dont have a business , so i dont have a TIN.

Any ideas please, like what should i put.
Becasue as it says, if i leave it blank, they WILL ask me later,,,,,,is that right?

anyone faced similar thing last time? if yes, whats ur suggestion.

TIN = SSN for sole proprietor

GTFan said:There is no annual fee for the Platinum Cash card.

I read "I understand that the annual fee is $300 for the Basic Card and $150 for each Additional Card." at the bottom of my Platinum application.

EDIT: Caution there is a $300 annual fee for platinum, and the rewards is free, but the $300 ANNUAL FEE IS NOT WAIDED THE FIRST YEAR. Do yourself a favor and get the gold.
