I wonder how much more I can get out of BofA, I already had $51k CL on a card from MBNA before the merger... TIA! b. I doubt much. When I applied I originally got $8,500. Took a bunch of work to turn it into $100k. Then a month later I got a nice offer on a BoA card and got $11,500 line. I tried for an increase and got denied, They said they felt I had enough available credit. You would probably hear the same from BoA |

OK, the day before my CLI appeared on the FIA card, I got a call from B of A about the Financial Rewards card wanting to verify my income, rent, etc. But they just confirmed it with me over the phone, no documentation. They asked my why I wanted the increase, etc. Said that because I already had $29K with them they would only approve up to $20K then, and in a couple of months maybe they would reconsider going up to $50K. So i was pretty suprised to see the $50K on the FIA card the next day. Does it matter that it's issued by FIA? |

Hmm.. well even I have a website with google ads on it. I don't think I make more than $20 per year on it Does this qualify as a business and make me eligible to apply for business credit cards? I didn't know you can be approved for a business credit card for a business with annual revenues of $20!!! I recently completed an AOR and did not apply for any business cards. Maybe I should have. |

I think you just answered your own question. $20 a year = $18K in business credit lines. |

I haven't heard from RBS, AMEX on the Optima and Clear cards, CitiBusiness, Chase GM Business, Amazon.com Business.
Are you planning to ask for reconsideration on the denials?
Not really. Perhaps I could have some success there, but I just don't want to put that kind of effort in for this. The reasons given for denials were things like "You already have sufficient credit" and "Too many recent inquiries". This stuff isn't going to change next month. I need to put a stop to the hard inquiries and start the clock to get my score back up for the next round. And I really hope I can do the "rolling AOR" from now on. We'll see how that goes.
I think this is the biggest AOR I have seen so far. Lots of nice BT deals in there. I would use more than 50% though IMHO. Too much money on the table. I used 50% at first, then transfered more later, now I have 98% on some cards..
Not ruling this out, but again, I'm in it for the long haul and I'd like to be able to sustain thousands per year in interest income from arbitrage. I need to keep my score as high as possible. I could take the other $25K on that FIA card and make another $1300 over the next 12 months. But I have over $20K that's going to roll off in 6 months and I'd like something to roll that BT money into. And in another 6 months I'll have to move another $60K, etc. I want to see my 1/1 FICO and that will have a lot to do with it. I was expecting a 100-point hit, but since I have Score Watch, I know Experian has only dropped 10 points.
FYI, I'm also triple-pulling with True Credit to help those inquiries move faster.
I'd also like to thank DuPont, Coca-Cola, and Home Depot |

FirstNational, I Googled and couldn't find a FIA (BoA) Elite Rewards card with a $75 capped BT fee?
Closest thing I found is this
Would this be the right card? |

One thing I learned is that these offers are changing all the time, which is an argument for more apps , at least in the planning stage. Several of the offers I had planned to take advantage of had changed by the time I executed. Mostly for the worse. And cardoffers isn't updated as quickly as it should be. |

I'm wondering how much income plays into getting a large CL. I have great credit (over 800), but low income. FirstNational has an income of $230K?!?!? I don't think I'll ever get there (not because I'm uneducated, because I'm a biologist with a phd). Any ideas? |

Your 800 FICO means you will have no problem getting approved but CL's are determined by your income. To give you an example the credit analyst guy at MBNA told me a $300k+ income gets you a $50k CL |

I'm assuming it does play a part, and there is a payments/income, debt/income, or CL/income ratio involved. How much it matters is unknown, but I did receive at least one rejection reason (for a card or CLI) of "You already have sufficient credit for your income level."
However, it should matter less the higher the score is. I mean, if you somehow manage to make payments despite your income, why should they care? Also, bank account balances should matter, since you could use accumulated cash to make payments. I think some issuers would allow you to provide proof of this. Unfortunately (for this purpose) bank balances do not show up on credit reports. So it would probably require a call to the issuer. |

On the application for the offer I got from FIA it asked for what you had in savings and CD accounts. That was the first time I ever saw that on an application |

Thanks for the input guys. I am planning my own AOR right now. Hopefully do it some time after the new year. I think how much one has in the bank should stay OUT of the credit reports...just too much information out in public databases!

When I requested a hard pull CLI from Citi on their website, they wanted my bank account number and the bank's phone number to confirm funds. I could see where giving an account number with 0% BT money could be very beneficial to getting even larger credit lines. We have about $20K in that account right now from wife's 0% BT money and I'm hoping to put in another 80K or so. That would probably look like a good chunk of change to a creditor when requesting a CLI. |
