so I can transfer up to 2k per day, and it will arrive the very same day? I use HSBC Direct, which has a generous interest rate, no fees, but it takes 3 business days to complete a transfer. I could certainly benefit from only one business day for transfers. |

It would arrive the next day (not same day as you place transfer) but also bear in mind that the maximum for 1 day transfers is $5,000 in a 30 day "rolling period"....so obviously, it has more restrictions then the standard 3 day transfer...
Think of the next day transfer ability as one that you would use sparingly...mostly when you need to move just a thousand or two real quick to another bank to pay bills or for immediate cash withdrawal access at your local linked bank, or whatever.... |

For those of us with our own ACH hub already, is there any advantage to this account over UFB Direct which has excellent customer service and a history of high rates?
I'm always leery of newcomers. |

It is the new Online Banking Division of Flushing Savings Bank....which is a 12 branch community bank located in New York City (most of it's branches are in Queens) and has been around for about 80 years or so.....Bankrate monitor gives thems 4 stars out of a possible 5 (high rating)....
IGO is their Online Division, therefore, even if you live in their area, you would not be using branch services...it's like having AMBOY Direct or AMtrust or ING, etc...this is an Online Banking account that you link to your regular bank....They will eventually be offering Checking Accounts as well..... |

LOL. Anyhow, the crucial matter for iGO is really on its online features (e.g., security) and transfer efficiency. |

that's where they get the name from as they happen to be in Flushing, Queens as well as other sections of that boro...i believe they also have a few offices in Manhattan, as well....
They seem to be highly security oriented....you have to wait until you receive a temp pin # in the mail to log into the account, and i even had to mail in a "proof of address" when opening....their online site seems very reliable, have never seen it "down"....transfers are actually through "cashedge" and unless you are using the very limited next day transfers, it's a standard 3 day transfer over into them or out of them.... |

I keep running into problems and restrictions I don't like in the IGO account. You cannot use next-day transfer unless you have $750 in the account. There are daily and rolling limits on amounts that can be transferred. Normal transfers take three days. This is why I opted out of HSBC.
With both Amboy and ED I don't have any of these problems and transfers take one day, even for $1.00 and ED pays interest immediately and Amboy the next day. No restrictions on amounts. IGO also has a minimum transfer of $10.00 and a $10.00 fee if you close the account within 90 days. So, when I tried to transfer $1.00 out they wouldn't let me. |

The CSR claimed that I need to deposit $2,000 in order to have the $100,000 daily limit option, confusing and doubtful.
I would not risk my $2,000 just to test the limit. The CSR also claimed that the 3-day delay is just to be on the safe side.
I prefer Amboy at this point. |

How long did it take for your initial deposit to be posted? They took it out of my BoA account on 1/5/07.
Also, I have to re-verify my BoA checking account because it didn't put the information in there even though I funded my account.
Thanks! |
