Great - thanks!

Bump! Thanks a ton, OP! Thanks to everything I've been learning from FW in the past year +, I am very excited to say that some of the deals and information I've gotten through this site have enabled/inspired me to actually starting SAVING money in 2007 instead of just spending! It's a big step for me!

it seems like some people have had to do address verification while others were approved online...is that correct? i wonder what the basis is for deciding who needs address verification

Tried to log on to iGO. A page appeared asking for a "Current Telephone Teller PIN". Thier office is closed today. Sent an email.

Your current telephone teller pin should be the last 4 digits of your social security number, unless you went on their telephone banking and changed it (in that case, put in your newly selected telephone pin #)....

It will only ask that question once (unless you change your telephone teller pin #) it's just a security verification
of your telephone pin #....hope that helps.

Thanks for the response. No luck with the last 4 of social security number online or on the phone. I did not change phone pin & have not used it. I hope that they drop thier shields or I could be locked out until Tuesday.

This seemed to be a Hot Topic, then suddenly went cold. I was just looking into iGobanking. Is everyone continuing to have positive experiences? Thanks!

I too would like an update. Sounds like it could be a useful hub account.

I had thought about converting to IGO 5.30% savings, I have a savings link account with Countrywide Bank, that is 5.25% with over $10,000,it's not worth it for such a small amount of gain,I love Countrywide's website-it's very well done and the their customer service is top notch-I have nothing but good things to say about Countrywide Bank...and Countrywides rate for $50,000+ is 5.40% on their online savings account.I am happy with 5.25%-I have about $12,000 in there now.

Plus from what Ive read on here some people have been having some issues(nothing serious)just long delays with Pin numbers and stuff with IGO,maybe cause it's such a new account. I'm gonna stay where I am at,maybe when they iron some of kinks out of IGO I will join.

It takes about 2 weeks + to get this account fully functional, also the
transfers have taken about 1 week to post. They do send emils though.

Though my IGOBanking account has only been open since 01/09, so far I am reasonably pleased. Phone CS answers on 2nd ring & no phone mail-box hell ( i.e. push 1,2,3,4 then pre-verify identity crap, etc. )

As LOOPHOLE points out, to get IGO's internal ACH functional ; a few hoops to go through. Nothing experienced FWF'rs haven't seen B4 ( i.e. verify mini-deposits ).

This online account will accept snail-mailed paper check deposits. as well as fee free ACH push/pull .. Count on full three (3) business days for crediting either direction with any method ( and 1-2 days lost interest w/ACH ). ( note : NEVER initiate ACH on WEDS. or THURS. or you loose weekend interest too !!! )

Once account is opened, and you know your account-number, just call them to verify their routing number then you can mail deposit or do push from external account.

As I have shown in another thread, mailing paper checks to IGO is comparable to ACH in arrival time, due to their ( cashedge? ) delays. And if check is written on interest bearing account, you could double-dip interest for a couple days.

The next-day tranfers are limited to $2000 and are enabled after you have " experience " according to IGO. According to IGO apparently I still don't have enough experience to do next day transfers. That's OK, this is just depository for BT $$$. When CC min. payments are due, I just bill-pay from CC site to this account.

They do not offer bill-pay or check-writing, yet. As others have posted; IGO has no limit ( w/i reason I suppose ) on number of linked accounts.

Anyone encounter a gotcha w/IGO ; pls let us know....

have a profitable day. Jeff K.

The Next Day transfers should be come functional after you first transfer in has completed...within about 3 days after that, my next day button began to work...however, you must have at least $750 or more in the IGO account for the button to work...
Next Day Transfers are limited to $2,000 max per day..and $5,000 total in a "rolling" 30 day period.....For much larger amounts, you must use the 3 day transfer....

Nice part is that when the money arrives into IGO, whether on a 3 day transfer or 1 day transfer, it's already available...no extra holds are placed on it....

I have $70k+ on deposit (soon to be $99k), have done 5 ACH's ... still next-day option is not available yet for me. But, like I said... for me, no big deal as my ACH's to/from IGO are well over their next-day limits ....

alert mods

cool, smallbizman....well, just a general note to all who open IGO Savings, if the next day button doesn't become available for you after you have a balance greater then $750 in you account (within a few days) you can call IGO and they will manually activate it for you (a supervisor can do it)...it's a little bug in the system that you should be aware of (they are working to correct it)....

This question is directed to someone with some experience with this bank.

How long does it take for inbound deposits to become available?

I have a weird situation here.

The initial deposit was on requested january 18th, according to the website it was received on january 22. According to a supervisor, it was received on january 23. To date, the funds of the initial deposit are still unavailable.

On january 23rd, after relinking the external account, another deposit was initiated. Three days later on January 26th (a friday) I receive an email from IGO stating that the deposit was been deducted from the external account, and that they will take another day or two to reach the destination account. Ok, great.

Today I check the account, the initial funding deposit is still unavilable. The 2nd deposit appears to be available.

Talking with customer service and a supervisor I'm told that tonight that second deposit will have a 5 day hold on it, and by tomorrow, the initial funding deposit will be available (8 business days later!!!)

The supervisor says that due to a glitch in the system the 2nd deposit never had the 5 day hold placed on it. I was hoping this bank would have its act together better than ELOAN!

What's going on here???

Thanks

For one thing weekends do not count as business days, So everything looks exactly right on your account, 3 business days to get in and tomorrow will be 5 days of hold

Scott, I know weekends are not 'business days'.

I'm more puzzled by this additional 5 business days hold once they get the money. I can't find any reference of that on the site, other than a 5 bus day hold pertaining to wire transfers which this is not. This is a ACH transfer.

Also, I'm more puzzled by this glitch that suddenly came up with the 2nd transfer. Reread my post above please.

Edit, 8 business days for funds to be available is quite excessive for an online bank.

Not really, I recently opened a savings link at Countrywide and was exactly the same, 3 business days for the money to get there by ACH, Then 5 more business days before it showed as available. It did earn interest during the hold. But I do agree it's seems strange to have a hold on an ACH transfers. ING has the same 5 day hold so I think it is becoming the standard

alert mods

Unless they have made a change in their system, all transfers in that i did with IGO Savings had no hold when they arrived. They showed as available...But i haven't done any transfers in to them lately, so it's possible they changed it....try doing another transfer in during the week right now, and see what happens....

I won't be able to check it, because i am closing this account shortly...not because i was unhappy with it...it was fine...i am just "streamlining" my bank accounts to the bare minimum.....and since i get a high yield in my BOA Affinity Savings...i decided not to have any online bank accounts right now.....
