I think it's just an estimated guess. Hard to tell because of interest rates (can assume 5.05%, but there's a 6% offer right now and a few others) and differing minimum payments (Discover is now 4%/mo). I'd like to see something about FICO scores after all the inquiries hit, and then another FICO after all of the Balance Transfers are through. Maybe I'll go back through my 1st AOR (sorry, too busy planning out aor v2) but my FICO (actual) went from 800 Experian to 650 and from 780 TU to 670. This was with ~80% overall utilization and +90% on most of my BT cards and 100K+. |

ok. In that case, can somebody tell me if I have to make a decent net income of $100-$200 after minmum payment, etc., How much total BT I should get? 50,000? 100,000? I have just 2 years of credit, have been reading about this app-o-rama and skipping because of my credit history. If I think that the the minimum BT is well over my limit, I will skip it for sometime again... Thanks |

kuppusamy said:Is "Expected Income from money invested from AOR: " is net (AOR interest - Minimum payment - Tax of AOR interest - etc.,) or just AOR interest? Definitely pre-tax since that varies. Min. payment should come out of the BT money itself; that doesn't reduce the income (only the principal on which the interest is computed). Otherwise, I suspect most people just make a rough estimate that may ignore that the BT rarely lasts a full 12 months (depending on statement dates), that the savings account principal declines by 1-2% per month, etc. |

I don't know how I missed this summary thread before-- what a great idea OP One suggestion would be to add statistics on any adverse actions after the AOR. Some may be apocryphal but I'm reading more and more posts about lenders getting touchy. I've seen reports of closed lines, CLDs, and acct reviews. In this environment I think it would be a good idea to monitor that. |

Bump. Some observations: Chase is getting tougher when it comes to line reallocation. Most recent request to reallocate between just two lines required an account review with "lending operations". Reallocating from 2+ accounts to one required "lending operations" before as well. It seems like the initial promo rate BT is phone (or welcome package check(s)) only - seemingly for "security reasons". GE Money has online BT option - but after the first statement closes. |

Bump. SecondCor521 got 26 approvals so far, with 4 pending. That's close to the claimed record of 29 in this thread. Out of 35 (!) total apps (plus one freebie): 6 Chase: 3 approved, 2 pending, 1 declined 6 Citi: 3 approved, 1 pending, 2 declined 4 BofA: 3 p + 1 bus ... impressive Wasted: 2nd CapOne Bus 2nd Nat City personal (though still pending, so I couuld be wrong) Advanta: $2,5000 (it used to be worthwhile; has *anyone* beat this recently?) Risky (and declined): Principal (Infibank) USUALLY Requires docs: IberiaBank (Pulaski) ... no docs required (see below) Regional only: M&T Bank Phone apps: Compass Wachovia (skipped; hence 35 apps plus the CU, though his post is numbered 1..37)
(I updated based on the post below. Also: his AOR is very well documented; definitely worth a look.) |

IberiaBank (Pulaski) ... usually requires docs; he didn't mention one way or another
Wachovia (skipped; hence 36 apps though his post is numbered 1..37) Comments: 2nd NatCity app is probably a declined as a second app per CSR. IberiaBank was an approval but I didn't provide any docs. Wachovia was indeed skipped. I had to do a phone app because I was not an existing customer, and by the time I got to them it was the middle of the night and they were closed. Minor nitpick: I only applied for 35 cards -- I skipped Wachovia, and #37 was a card I received without applying for it. See the QS in my thread. 2Cor521 |
