I am planning for a AOR in First or Second Quarter. In the mean time, I want to do a summary and statistics for several recent AORS. I will add the data in the quick summary so that everyone can add/delete to the following format. Please PM for any suggestions.

At the end, I want to have information on the maximum cards applied, Maximum Credit granted etc..

Bhupathi's First App-O-Rama

Thanks
Bhupathi

Sure I completely forgot about your idea....I will add the links to each of the scenario...

Thank you.

Hey bhupathi heck of a job! I think what would also be useful is the % utilization after (you already have before).

Great idea. I'm expecting $3600 profit over the next year.

Thanks alleni for posting...I added your AOR info in the quick summary.

The credit score dings seem less than I would have expected. Good thread, thx.

hi Stook21,

I had a score of 758 and when I utilized $35K of $40K line of credit it went down to 711.

Now I was consolidating from small cards to 2 discover cards. The paid off cards of BOFA,CHASE did not udpate to $0 but Discover reported so again my score dropped to 694....

From my research, then NEW queries the UTILIZATION % has more effect.

Here's another datapoint for you. Perhaps not exactly recent given it was 4 months ago, but gives you an idea on the credit score hit once everything is reporting

Some high stats from the Quick Summary Above (14 Scenarios)

Max Cards Applied: 54
Highest New Credit Approved: $445,000
Highest Bonus in return: $1193
Highest Income from BT: $7500 (Gross)

That $445,000 is incorrect. That number is how much available credit I had TOTAL after AOR. Actual new Credit is only $295k.

I am sorry Dbalkunjr.....That was a mistake....

Max Cards Applied: 54

I have added my data, though the final BT has not yet been done.

Just a quick question, guys ... I have some revolving balance because I had a 0% APR deal through Chase (I had signed up actually for the sign up bonuses) ... and I guess I did my own kinda A-O-R because I left about 8k or so in a savings @ 5% for that time period ... Now it's time to pay it off ... the question is - should I wait until I pay off the balance and THEN do a 'PROPER' A-O-R or does it not really matter?

OR, worse yet, should I have to wait quite a while before I start the A-O-R to cause the least damage to my FICO ...

FYI, my FICO is in the 760's last I checked *won't be there anymore because it was a while ago) and until this last year I never carried a cent of a balance ... I'm wondering if I hurt or helped my FICO with the carrying of this balance over the last year or so ...

Any help is appreciated, and please move this post if it's in the wrong place Thanks!

what's your total CL and the CL on the card which has the balance?

You know, being in this thread I should definitely be more aware of those numbers but I'm not lol ...

I know that I have at least 110k (being quite conservative) in credit lines ... my credit lines on those cards (I lumped two Chase balances together in my other post) alone is about 30k ... The outstanding balance is about $6500 at this point ...

UPDATE ... My credit lines via credit cards are about $120,000 ...

I have a car lease of $390 a month for 24 months (one year into it almost)

I have med school loan amount of about $90k ...

That should shed some light on the situation...

SO how are you guys making money off these cards? You take a cash advance and throw it in a CD or savings acct? Are there easy ways to find the best deals on what rate you can borrow the money on - ideally 0%? ... I've got money in HSBC and am getting 5.05% ... if there's a better rate out there with the right amount of money, I'll move it .. but for my $8k or so it's really not worth the move right now ...

It's called a BT to your checking account w/ a 0% offer that has a cap on the fee... (typically $75) and you put it in a mma, and pay min till it's due... you can get from most lenders BT checks to your self.. or to your bank account. Hope this helps... it's also under the FAQ i believe

Ok maybe I'm a little slow but I'm trying to just figure this out ...

Would I call my credit card company and ask them that I want to take money out against my line and "use it as a BT" when in fact I'm just putting it in my bank account? They will transfer my money into my checking? (Which I can then move to a CD or a savings ...)

Just want to clarify that ... and, if that's the case, then I guess there should be a companion thread that talks about which CC's give you 0% BT for a year or more and also have a cap on the fee ... Please help me out as this looks like an easy profit

definitely slow -- thus the red --

do a quick search -- there are several threads on the subject -- start with the original sis' aor thread (it's a sticky thread and at the top of fwf -- it will link you to ancillary threads about cards with 0%/low aprs, how to get the money without doing an actual bt to a credit card, etc.

thanks for the woderful thread

it appears that a general rule of thumb is that you can count on getting roughly 3x HHI as total credit.

I'm sure that there then are ways to go way beyond that, but I noticed this pattern when looking at these AOR examples.

Wow, it is a nice compilation. Thanks for that info. I am planning to do one in June. It will be a very useful guide for me.

My own belated entry:

OK, I formatted the post to use a similar style as I did for the Credit Card Issuer FAQ.

I also rearranged the fields a bit, e.g. to put before/after FICO together, and NEW CL FROM AOR right after APPROVED %.

I added a few fields; see the notes at the top of the Quick Summary. There's no guarantee my math is right on the "x times HHI" (I already found one typo). Also, I made a few changes to the Quick Summary after sorting; yet another potential source of typos.

One benefit of standardizing field names and much of the contents: sorting plus a bit of post-processing provides a quick way to see the full range for any field. (I've had trouble with extra long Quick Summaries, so I'm putting this here for now. Feedback welcome.) Many of the field contents could use even more editing to simplify comparison, but I've already spent waaay too many hours on this!

April 5: ok, I standardized a few more, added Pakaderm's info, and simplified the personal/bus format to follow Pakaderm's example.

All finished up. Let's hope a good number of my deferred applications come through. At the very least I've freed up a good amount of 0% low or no fee BTs on my existing major bank lines (Citi, Chase, BofA). Too bad Card Offers isn't paying up anymore.

Now that all of my BT balances have posted to each credit reporting agency, I've updated the QS with my stats.

Is "Expected Income from money invested from AOR: " is net (AOR interest - Minimum payment - Tax of AOR interest - etc.,) or just AOR interest?

Thanks

2nd Nat City personal (though still pending, so I couuld be wrong)

IberiaBank (Pulaski) ... usually requires docs; he didn't mention one way or another

Wachovia (skipped; hence 36 apps though his post is numbered 1..37)

Comments:

2nd NatCity app is probably a declined as a second app per CSR.

IberiaBank was an approval but I didn't provide any docs.

Wachovia was indeed skipped. I had to do a phone app because I was not an existing customer, and by the time I got to them it was the middle of the night and they were closed.

Minor nitpick: I only applied for 35 cards -- I skipped Wachovia, and #37 was a card I received without applying for it. See the QS in my thread.
