I mean, really, 5.00% return on BT money is really fantastic. 8.00% is even more fanstastic. Thanks for the details of your AOR, it's been a great read.
As far as "investing" your BT funds please remember, it is not YOUR money. Be very careful or you could get in over your head very quickly. |

I'll add my thanks for the good info. I did my a scaled down version of your AOR. I am not going to post my own thread since my AOR was deritave of yours plus I don't know my previous (or current) FICO scores.
I am similar age and income as you, however I don't have a HELOC, only a first mortgage. So, for me, the money is going into E-loan savings. Also, I have a business with EIN which didn't help me get instant approvals on business cards. But I generate a lot of charge volume with the business so I tried to get a few cards with 0% purchases as well as 0% BT.
By the way, the Starwood card doesn't have any 0% offers but I got it because I've been wanting it.
I'm not trying to hijack your thread. Just thought you might be interested in comparing the approvals. If you want me to remove this post let me know.
Edit: Details moved to separate thread. |

When my wife applied for the Sony Card she got 5k instant but when we got the paperwork it was for 16k so don't be surprised if that one ends up higher. I've seen a couple others here report the same thing. |

Sony called me this morning to confirm my application (security measures). Said card and paperwork was in the mail. Tried to transfer me over to the BT department but I got disconnected, so I suppose I'll give them a call as soon as I get my card in the mail. Hoping for higher CL like previous poster... |

Day 6 Don't remember if I covered this or not. But late in the day last Friday (after my morning AOR) I thought I'd go ahead and try for a couple of BofA cards (I already have one BofA card, so I thought I'd easily get more). Sure enough, I go to Online Banking this morning and I have a new credit card account sitting there! (I've updated my OP) Better yet: Approved for $26,000! That's more like it.
So here's a question for you experts: My old card has a balance of $8,700. I would like to reallocate most if not all of my $33,000 CL on that old card to the new card, making it close to a CL of $59,000. Then I'd BT as much as possible at that point. This card has a 6 month 0% deal (no BT fee). Should I try to pay off the old card first? (Using a BT from another new card) Could I just move the existing balance over to the new BofA card and then reallocate? I guess the question is, what should I do now?
Edit: Oh what the hay... I'm going to go ahead and use the online BT form and see if I can BT my old card into the new one. What's the worst that could happen? It doesn't go through... Edit 2: Well... that didn't work. Oh well.
I'm in kind of a hurry with this particular card because it's only a 6 month deal.
Went ahead and tried using the "Request a CL Increase" link from the website on the new card. Asked for an increase to $40,000 just to see if I can get lucky. No instant approval, said they'd review, so I doubt it'll go through...
And... I'm just remembering that the Citi and some other BT deals will allow me a 12 month 0% BT that only starts after the BT is completed. So I'm thinking that maybe maybe maybe I'll just pay off the 6 month BofA at the end with these Citi deals, effectively making it an 18 month BT deal... |

Any recommendations on the best BAC CC's to sign up for right now as part of an AOR ? Something with a 12-month 0% BT and a capped BT fee would be ideal...I'm checking out their website now...I currently have a LLBean Card that has like $30k CL on it, but I haven't used it in so long I don't even know where the new card is...the one I've got here has an expired date on it...but I checked on the phone and the account is still open...I probably have the new one around here somewhere in an unopened envelope ! |

Sounds like the BAC US Air card has 6-month 0% BT's with ZERO fee (BT/Convenience Checks, etc)...does that sound right ?
Edit: $90 annual fee there...be sure to cancel....
OK, sorry to interrupt your thread, but thought you might have some insight into the best BAC cards for AOR since you just did it.... |

Sorry, don't know what "BAC" means. If you refer back to my original post, the cards listed are all what I consider to be the best cards for me. I came up with that list by reading others' AOR threads and asking for advice in this thread. |

BAC = Bank of America (BAC is their stock symbol, so that's what I know them as...I think it comes from Bank of America Corp).
It just seems most of the BAC cards have an un-capped 3% fee on BT's unlike the other companies that often have a max fee of $50 or $75 or whatever....did you find a good BAC card with an uncapped fee ?
Edit:
OK, I see the answer in your post...read it the other day before it was updated I guess... ===== Bank of America: Financial Rewards Platinum Plus -- 0% for 6 months -- 3% max. $75 -- Cardoffers: NONE -- Application Status: Applied -- Approved for $26,000 =====
Thanks !
On BAC CC website for the Financial Rewards Visa Platinum Plus, under terms & conditions, I see this...doesn't seem to mention the 3%, max $75 for Balance Transfers....hmmmm
Transaction fee for Balance Transfers and Cash Advance Checks: None of each such cash advance (minimum $0 ).
See 4 below for explanation. Transaction fee for Bank and ATM Cash Advances: 3% of each such cash advance (minimum $10 ).

I have a pdf printout of the Terms and Condition for my BofA (BAC) Platinum Rewards Visa that specifically states that there is NO balance transfer fee with the offer. |

NO Balance Transfer fee seems to match the terms & conditions I quoted above from the BAC website (Financial Rewards Platinum Plus ), but in your post on page one of this thread where you list all the CC's you applied for it says
Bank of America: Financial Rewards Platinum Plus -- 0% for 6 months -- 3% max. $75 -- Cardoffers: NONE -- Application Status: Applied -- Approved for $26,000
So I assume this means the "3$ max. $75" you put there was incorrect ?
Thanks. |

Interesting... I didn't pick it up this morning, but it's there now: My BofA online banking used to show one Visa Signature Card with a credit limit of $33,000 and a balance of around $8,000. This morning, I show two Visa cards. One is the old Signature and the new Platinum Rewards. Platinum Rewards shows a CL of $26,000. Visa Signature now shows a CL of $10,000. This is troubling, I guess, because utilization on the revised Signature Card is now about 80%. I do hope this doesn't affect pending CC apps. (Probably won't show up on the CRs soon enough?) I suppose after I get a successful BT out of the existing Signature Visa, then I'll call BofA to reallocate more of that CL into the new Platinum Rewards.
Um, yeah. Well, I was signed into Wells Fargo this morning and when I logged off, a 0% BT CC offer popped up and I went ahead and applied. What can they do, turn me down? This offer is 0% for 6 months with no BT fee. We'll see. |

My wife applied for a Walgreens Financial Rewards Platinum Plus Visa from FIA with no BT fee and 0% for 6 months. It does have a thread here which is how I found it.
edit: Also, I found the State Farm 'Good Neighbor Visa' with a 9 month fee free BT offer on this site.. I hadn't seen that one mentioned here and it seems to be issued by State Farm rather than co-branded. That credit card list site seems to have just about every available card in the US linked. I hadn't seen it linked on FWF either. |

The State Farm one looks pretty good, but it has a uncapped 3% fee on BT convenience checks....
How about this one for BAC ? Star Wars card...12 months 0% BT's with a max of $75 on BT checks...

I guess I just became a Star Wars fan...Now to pick from Yoda or Darth Vader.....
Great list of CC's, thanks !! |

If the old balance is a "high" interest rate (relative to whatever else you have) then pay if off. If not, transfer all but $9,775 or so of the CL (which leaves the $8,700 at 89%). |

The State Farm Good Neighbor Visa BT fee is capped at zero.. That's the ongoing fee too, not promotional. BTW it also has a very attractive design that's sure to amuse and delight. My wife almost didn't apply for it because I know I will spend hours just staring at those nice people.
Now as far as attractive designs, the Wizard of Oz Visa is the best design I've seen this year. Too bad about the 18% BT rate even with no fee.
WTH??? That Star Wars Visa (fixed link)has an uncapped 3% BT rate when I look at the application page, but is capped in the T&C.. My wife passed on all but one BofA card because of that note on other card's apps, but the T&C page rules. I will keep that in mind when my app-o-rama comes around this spring.
I need to search and find out if BofA and FIA Card Services operate as different divisions. |
