For what it's worth, a couple weeks ago, I was able to call up the phone number on my old BofA BofA card, and reallocate credit card to my ex-MBNA BofA card. And then a week later, I was able to reallocate between the ex-MBNA BofA card, and a ex-MBNA FIA card.

So they seem fairly linked, despite having different web portals.

Day 7:
Just got off the phone with the Chase BT department CSR.
He was addressing both Chase personal account applications, the Chase Visa and the Chase Sony. Both accounts were approved for $11,000 each. I BT'd $9,600 each ($19,200) into my E-Trade brokerage account which I'll then use to pay down the HELOC. He asked for acct. number and mailing address so they are mailing checks, which he said would take 14-21 days to post.
12 months, 0% interest (ending on the payment due date after Jan. 11), $75 maximum BT fee for each.
I've updated the original post and added "BT Notes" to explain my conversation with this CSR.
Total new credit approved (at 0%) so far: $40,700.

On the Chase Sony card are you going to make a small purchase before the BT posts to snag the statement credit?

alert mods

Chase Sony is 0% for purchases as well, no need to time the purchase on this one.

Ah, many thanks. I'll update my notes. This is my first time doing this and I have found planning what to do with these cards when I get them more challenging than getting the cards in the first place.

Day 8:
Discover Card CSR called me up this morning to verify my account info and my intended BT. Confirmed my HELOC account number and address. Told me I was approved for $12,000. I asked her to transfer $9,600 to the HELOC. So that and yesterdays Chases takes care of paying down the HELOC to zero. On with the BT into Emigrant...

Just got the letter from First National Bank of Omaha. DENIED. The following reasons were listed:
Excessive inquiries within the last 6 months
Balance to limit ration on open revolving accounts in the last 6 months
Number of revolving accounts with balance utilization

Just got first card in the mail: Advanta Platinum Business Card. Approved for $12,500. I haven't had time to look into it just yet.

Chase Sony and Chase Platinum Visa cards and user agreements also came in the mail.

So that's that...

I've done a combined refi/AOR targeting many of the same cards as you, and had less than 25% as instant approvals. Did you initiate any contact to learn the results of your "Under Consideration, give us more time" accounts, or just wait for them to call or mail you somthing?

Thanks again for your excellent summary and frequent updates.

alert mods

I'm just waiting for mailed responses. I'm in no real hurry, and I hate dealing with CSRs over the phone.

Quick summary is that as of today, one week later, all my existing credit card balances and my HELOC are all in the process of being BT'd to approved 0% cards. As of today, I am pleased with my AOR. After today, anything else that comes in will be gravy, and any availble BT money will go to my Emigrant savings account.

Thanks to all of you AOR'ers before me who have been patient enough to really help out us noobs. Now I need to figure out exactly how much I'm "saving" this year by not paying interest on my debts...

Day 8
Just got a thin envelope from GE Bank too. Denied. Too many inquiries. Oh well...
PNC Bank sent me my card. Didn't have time to look at the details, but the CL approved is $10,000.
OP updated.

Thanks for the updates!

Great work getting all that 0% money etc. This is how to really make credit cards pay off. I am hoping to do my first organized Orama but this time I am focusing mostly on getting new business credit cards and increasing my business card lines. Right now biggest issue is inquires. Waiting for a few to drop off etc.

OP applied for:
Financial Rewards Platinum Plus -- 0% for 6 months -- No BT fees

Is this one of the few or only BOA BT offers with no BT fee? I see that a lot of them are 3%/no max.

alert mods

Yeah, I was surprised to find that BOA offer. I think the no fee BTs are pretty rare with them.

alert mods

Is it just me..or are the incentives for CC apps getting less and less? I recall reading a few posts where they were getting $1k+ just in incentives alone!!

Day 9:
Sunday. Doing my taxes today.

Day 10:\\
Got a postcard from Citibank on Saturday to call them. Just got off the phone from Citibank (Personal) and they were verifying my information. This one was for the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card. The CSR asked me if I wanted to switch over to a different card which offered triple points but otherwise the same terms. I went ahead and took the deal. I don't really know what means, but she said the balance transfer terms are exactly the same, so I don't really care about anything else.

I asked the CSR to reconfirm the BT deal and my assumptions are correct: The 12 month 0% BT deal starts after the first BT is made. So essentially, I can wait until my 6 month 0% deals start to dry up in August and then use the Citibank BTs to pay off and keep the 0% rolling until August 2008 or so.

Another thing: Coincidentally, the wifey has a BofA Visa and a BofA (formerly MBNA) Visa and got some BT offers in the mail on Saturday. Her CL on one is $13,900 and $27,500 on the other. I suppose I should have her call BofA and reallocate the $13,900 into the $27,500 as much as possible and then take the 0% for 6 months BT deal (max. fee = $75) and get all little bit more money, huh? Seems like we could gross another $900-1000.

Quick Process-Related Question for you experts:
So, I think I may have screwed up. I got approved for the Chase Visa and Chase Sony at the same time and then approved BTs from both cards into my HELOC.
I suppose I should have tried to consolodate the CL from one of those cards into the other and then just made ONE BT, right? Ooooops!

alert mods

Only a minor boo boo, Call or email Chase Sony and request the BT fee be waived. Since the BT is in process, I'd wait until after it posts as a request so complicated seems to confuse the average CSR. I'd call both, but Sony Card first as many here including myself have had success getting the fee waived. If at first you don't succeed, call back again. Good luck.

alert mods

rasher, you are correct, the normal approach to reduce transaction fees (and max out 0%) is to consolidate into one giant line and do one giant BT. This also has the added possibility of diverting regular high rate credit lines to a 0% offer if you have multiple cards.

alert mods

Rasher's I wanted to thank you because the 2 cards I applied for this afternoon and format I used from my App-O-Rama thread I took from yours.

So Thank for you for $42.5K in 0% money offers I got from the links you posted with the cards you applied for.

You could do it now, or wait until you (with permission of course) do a whole AOR for/with her. Search "tag team AOR" for my outline.
