Received my citi drivers edge card today rewards of 6% for gas, supermarkets drugstores for 1 year. plus it has a 0% 12 month no fee BT offer. the good thing about citi cards is that the 12 months begins after you make your first BT as long as it is within 1 year. I plan on using this card for the 6% rewards on gas etc.. as well as their .01 cnet per mile driving bonus. in month 11 I will put in for the BT.
Received an email from juniper declined due to too much available credit with them. I have $0 balance but 2 cards with a total of $45K Credit line. I tried to get them to open the account by moving part of the credit lines from these 2 accounts, but they refused. they said I need to close the account first, then wait at least 3 days and then I can reapply for the card. I declined that offer as with all the inquiries this AOR did they would not give me a card and I would lose this line. I will try one more time on Monday, I am also sending them an email to see if I have any luck.
Has someone had any success in getting Juniper/Barclays to open a card they declined with a rallocation. they do reallocation for open accounts, but unlike citi, chase, bofa they will not open an account by moving CL.

Wow, wish this occured to me. I ended up using it for a $16k BT instead of % back, never realized I could have done both like you did. Very nice. |

CAN"T FIGURE HOW I GOT THIS ONE:
I was looking at a FW thread on the $75 interest checking promo and went to the HSBC website. On a lark I clicked on the credit card section. HSBC has a prescreening process where they do a soft pull on esperian and tell you what cards they think you can get with them.
hsbc prescreen link.
I had done this about 2 weeks before my recent AOR and the response I got back was that I wouodn't qualify for anything except a secure card. Also, on my last AOR in June I applied for the HSBC GM flex card and Only got a $600 CL. A card I cancelled right after I got my cardoffers bonus.
I decided to try it again and this time I got all there cards as probable approvals. I still was hesistant as i was not interested in a small cl when they charge a BT fee. BUT I decided to go ahead but NOT put in a BT request with the app. I then got an approved message and then went through a identity verification process online. After completing the verification I was told I would get an email from their service department with details. At this point I did not know the CL I would get. HSBC also has a check app status online feature, so I decided to look and much to my SHOCK, I was approved for $18,750. Once I get the card in the mail I will call a do my BT. I do not know if they allow BT to checking accounts, if not I will send it through one of my cards that has no cash advance fees.

Update QSAm I missing it or does it say somewhere that it is only a soft pull?
EDIT: Is that the reference to "pre-qualification purposes and no other" ? |

Today I received the last of my AMEX cards. Starwoods. 10000 points with first purchase. $3000 cl. I Also have had the 25000 points posted as well as my 10000 thank you points.
I was given a definitive answer from juniper, I must first either reduce or close my existing juniper cards , they will not open the account and reallocate the CL. Since I had no use for the existing juniper cards as the 0% Bt time is up. I called and reduced my cl and then have the app for the i fly america card relooked at. It is currently pending.

Have you started your BTs yet? I'm especially interested to see what you do with the AMEX IN:NYC (and if you can avoid the dreaded FR.) |

In January wifey got a 37.5k credit line from AMEX In NYC and so far no FR (knock wood). Drew 33,750 initially followed by a payment of 3800 before the first statement printed. 90% was the plan but I got spooked by getting shut off by FNBofO days after their BT posted. Frankly though, I think borrowing more than you intend to utilize and making a large payment before the first statement just might be a good thing for people to think about doing. Issuers seem to think the world of substantial payments over the minimum due, and it doesn't cost anything since it's their money. Anyway, this is going to be SOP for our AORs in the future. |

Interesting. What does utilization look like across all her AMEX lines? Thanks to AMEX crack, I've got 100K of AMEX credit but I'm nervous as hell about actually using it. |

You know, AMEX 'crack' showed up shortly after her AOR and I decided to forego the opportunity until after we had paid the AMEX Cash Rebates card bill. Afterwards 'she' requested that it go from 6300 to 7500. So 'true greed' has prevented 'her' from requesting anywhere near the 24,900 people here are requesting across the board. To answer your question, she has 37.5k with In:NYC with 28.45K in 0%, 3k on *wood biz card with 0% utilized, and as of today 2.5k of 7.5k on her 'Cash Rebates' card. 'Cash Rebates' card is = to the AMEX Blue Cash which is our 'everyday' card. |

I have begun doing several BT's including the AMEX. I did the bt for more than $67,000 with the in-nyc card. Also have done my 0% bt's with RBS, BOfa, PNC and chase. I still have citi and HSBC to do. |

received my hsbc card today. called to activate and the rep askied me while activating the card if I wanted to do a Bt, I checked to ensure there wa still a max fee of $75 and 0% since I did not put a BT with the APP. BT of $18,400 She also said I can request the funds to be deposited to my checking account. Which I did, funds whould be in my account in 3-5 days.
Still waiting word on my juniper card. My second chase business card is doubtful as i seems you can not apply for more than 1 business card within 30 days. Although the letter they sent me didn't say declined, it implied it was being treated as a duplicate. If I don;t get anything in one week, i'll assume it wont be coming in. Also decided not to pursue the 2nd advata card based on their cryptic message. I still have 5 month on my 0% bt with my existing card and it dosne't look like they were going to give me the second card without giving up the first.

Got 3 checks in the mail from pnc for no BT fee. When I first got pnc card they only gave me 3500 cl , but when i called to do a BT on the phone and told the rep i would have done more they brought my limit up to 7500, I had asked them for 15000 but they told me the max i can get is 7500.
I had done a Bt for all but $100 on my cl. I decided to click on the request credit increase button on their website, they allow up to 5000 increase on the form. I selected 5000, and was notified that I would find out in 3 days. Checked today and got the additioanl 5000. am using one of the checks to to deposit 5000 in my acocunt. also clicked on the credit increase form again to see if I can get an additional 5000 again.

So wait, your original CL with PNC was $3500, you bumped it up up another $4000 via a CSR, and then yet another $5000 via internet?
Holy crap. |

Fianlly, got juniper to give me their i fly america card 0% 12 mo $50 max fee. I didn't get any new credit but had other credit reallocated. It was a VERY painful process. FIrst I was told they would not move the line to open the account. that I needed to apply for a new card. Then I was told to reduce the other lines and reapply. Which I did, and still got a denial letter for sufficient credit with juniper. Finally, after sending a STRONGLY worded email outlining the misinformation the reps and their email department gave me. They provided me the direct number to the credit deapartment. (which is actually what I had asked for after the initial denial).
The credit department was very nice, went through some credit history with me on my other accounts with them and saw the reduction in CL that I made , they then proceeded to give me the amount of credit that I had previously reduced to put on this new I fly america card.
1-866-408-4064, They are available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday. I checked online about 15 minutes later and the card shows. I can't do any BT's yet as they do not allow them until the card is received and activated.
Up until that point, if I didn't get a good answer I would have closed my cards (FICO be dammed) based on all the runaround and misinformation they had previously givin me. As I made more than 5 calls and had 4 emails back and forth with them until they finally got me to the right place to help.

Received my juniper card and did an online transfer 0%BT. Also had AMEX call for the infamous finanical review where they had suspended all my accounts. the reason they told me was because of the large amount of credit that I currently had in use. Over $80,000 in balance transfers at 0%.
I faxed the info AMEX asked for Approval to pull my tax return for last year. I did. a couple days later the freeze was removed i guess they were ok with my tax return.
I had 2 more cards that had neither an approval nor denial, advanta and my second chase card. advanta would not give a second card as they only allow one card. chase considered my second app done the same day as a duplicate and ignored it.
Final results 13 approved, 6 denials, 2 no action. Biggest surprise: HSBC not the gm cards, based on prior experiance expected a low line but got the best from them. close second PNC 2 bump up on credit lines after initial approval.
surprised: 4 AMEX applications all approved. Only 1 inquiry
Most disappointing. Juniper, gave me a major runaround, next time if i apply for a nother card with them and am told i have enough credit with them. I will insist on speaking to the credit department directy, and not listen to them to reduce the line and reaply.
In not a single case did I submit the BT with the app. I always waited for the approval before submitting the bt. I did not want to pay 3% $75 max fee for a small CL.
Receieved $74550 in new credit, more improtantly was able to get aditinal cards with issuers that my 0% expired and then reallocate funds and use for BT $191,500. already did most of the BT's, am holding off on the citi one as its 12 months after first bt, and I am going to take advatage of the 6% rebate on gas, supermarkets etc.. awaiting bonus for my 10,000 starwoods cards, as well as see if I actually get my card offer bonuses.
MY score hasn't taken a major hit yet as a lot of the BT's have not cycled through yet.
The next month or 2 will determine if I get any negative action for all the balances that I will be carrying with very high utilization. I decided to go all out this and take the risk as new cards will get harder and harder and will strategically close some newer cards.

$191,000 in BT? Hokey smokes, that's pretty impressive. How much of that is going to be personal, and what's your total personal lines now? I think there's a pretty darn good chance of adverse action, which could be interesting
If you're lucky, whatever FR you had from AMEX will make you "immune" for a while from them. I kind of expect bad things from Chase (they've been tough lately), and PNC seems a little bit skittish. |
