Received a call from citi to let me know they approved my drivers edge card with a $500 limit. It was only $500 because they said they could not give me more based on the amount of credit I already have with them. they then offered to reallocate from one of my other cards, I moved 10K from my premier pass which was no longer a 0% card to the drivers edge. I should get the card in about 10 days.

Received the decline letter from discover. they stated that i had too may new accounts with balances. The newest card i had with a balance was 8 months old.

I updated the summary with the card, current status, credit report pulled, I'll also start listing the bonus and any 0%'s BT info

I hate to be a gloomy gus, but this may be a good test to demonstrate if 9 months is too short of a time to space between AORs. Especially if you're still carrying a bunch of debt from the first one.

markkundinger said: I hate to be a gloomy gus, but this may be a good test to demonstrate if 9 months is too short of a time to space between AORs. Especially if you're still carrying a bunch of debt from the first one.

My overall utilization was around 40%, the cards with a balance were over 50% but I was nowhere near max. I got that down to a decent level. So far, it is just discover, which happends to be one of the new cards with a balance.

Forgot to mention, got my Equifax report trimmed so I can view it again. Apparently none of the inquiries could be done that was attempted on Equifax (which caused the file too large ). TU and Exp have been pulled by the card companies instead

Received mail from chase that they have my application for my 2nd bus card and that this is the 2nd application they received and because the previous one is currently inder review it is not necessary to review the second application.

Looks like if chase bus will at most give me one card..

I also just pulled my daily credit report and a new card is showing up from fia. I have not received a card from fia yet so I guess I am approved fro a card. I also noticed that BOFA reduced one of my other cards with a 65K credit limit down by 10K. MY guess is that they moved part of the credit line to this new fia card. I had applied for 2 fia cards. The GMAC equity rewards and the Fidelity visa signature card. My GUESS is that they gave me both but would not extend any more credit so they reallocated 5K to each. when I get the card, I will reallocate more of the 65K line to the one that has a 0% BT offer. The 65K 0% offer previously ended a few months ago and I was using it primarily for bill payment.

I also received my AMEX Gold bus card via ups last night.

Updated QS

Pulled my daily Credit report and see the second fia card showing with a $5000 cl. so BOFA ended up moving the CL from one of my cards. Once I get the Equity rewards card, I will reallocate more from the other bofa card and use the 0% 12 months with a max fee of $75.

Also was approved(checked online) for the AMEX bus simplicity card. do not know CL yet.

Thanks for sharing the details. My FICO still has yet to bounce back, but I am on time out for now, so that I can get it back over the 700 level.

Noob question here- how long does it take for your fico score to bounce back? Also, the OP mentioned that he cancelled several cards- I thought that is generally not advised for having negative effects on your credit rating?

tashayar said: Thanks for sharing the details. My FICO still has yet to bounce back, but I am on time out for now, so that I can get it back over the 700 level.

It took close to 7 months before mine bounced back, but the main item that did it was getting my overall utilization under 50% and having no cards over 90%.
The other item that has a big impact on my score is when there are cards that are less than 1 year old with a balance on it, no matter how small. On my first apporama my score shot up 50 points when I paid down off my cards that were less than 1 year old. I had accidently had one card with a $300 balance and less than one year, not paid down to 0 before the statement. The day it showed on my credit report my TU score went down about 50 points, no other info changed.

Got 2 cards in the mail today. PNC and AMEX in-nyc. I called PNC about a bt to ensure it was still 0% for 12 months with no BT fee and I mentioned to the rep that I would transfer a lot more but I was only given a $3000 line. He transferred me to the underwriting area who asked me how much I wanted to transfer. I said $15,000. They said that probably would be too much but offered me $7500, which I took and then did the BT. I won't be able to take advantage of their $50 statement credit as if I purchased $500 even in increments, because of how payments are applied, I would have had to pay finance charges over the year a lot more than the $50 credit I would have received.

I was also able to reallocate online more than $75,000 to my new AMEX card from my personal & business AMEX cards. This one also has no BT fee although the 0% is for 6 months. I need to set up a few accounts so I can utilize the maximum BT.

I did have to call AMEX on my starwood business card, they needed to verify some info on the phone with me, as soon as they did they told I was approved, but I do not know how much the CL is yet.

Updated QS.

Got 3 cards in the mail today. My fia (BOFA) GMAC equity award account which I expected as it showed on my credit report. The card when I signed up was supposed to be for 0% 12 months. However, On the packet I receive it states that the 0% expires in december' 07.

I also received a chase business card. $8,000 CL, and a Citibank Bus card. 10,000.

I also got a decline from state farm bank. Reason excessive inquries in 6 months. When I started i had 0 inquiries on TU. I applied for this card in the middle of my app spree so there must have been 4 or 5 already on there.

Updating QS

Have a new inquiry from FNB on Equifax, its the first one that hit Equifax so they wont see all the other inquiries.

Called chase to try to reallocate some CL from a couple of my other chase cards to increase the new line. Chase said they can not reallocate to a card until after its 6 months old. I will call again and try this weekend. They also enclosed a BT check that i can use with a $75 max fee.

2 declines in the mail today for the same reason too much outstanding debt. Not utilization, but total $ amount outstanding. Also already received 20,000 or my 25,000 AMEX bonus points.

Received my BOFA card, my fidelity card got a 10,000 CL, my other bof a was a 5,000 cl. It ended up that bofa increased my overall cl by 5000. They took 10,000 from my existing line to my fidelity card. I also got a letter from bofa stating they moved the line and if I want to allocate my card differently to call them. I will do so this weekend and move most of my cl to the bofa GMAC card to take advatage of the 0% 9 months with a $75 max fee and then if they still allow it have most of the funds credited to my savings account. The bofa GMAC card was a new line of 5000.

APPROVED.

Received an RBS card in the mail today. Got a $12,000 Cl. I activated the card and did a BT on the phone for $10K. 0% 10 months with a max fee of $60.

Called yesterday to try reallocation again and this time the rep had no problem at all in reallocating part of my credit line from my 2 personal cards. Moved a total of 12,500 in CL to this card for a total of 20,500 cl. he said it could take 3 days, but it showed up today, Will be using the BT check for 20K with a 0% 12 months and a $75 max fee and depositing the check to my account. The rep told me that I can write the check to anyone including myself and it would be treated at the 0% rate.

Is there a good thread regarding the use of credit report pulls to cause bumpage of past inquireries? Esp. regarding which service to use.

largeeyes said: Is there a good thread regarding the use of credit report pulls to cause bumpage of past inquireries? Esp. regarding which service to use.

TrueCredit is great....that's what I've been using. I need to find an additional service myself that allows daily pulls because I think I'd like to pull 2x/day for a while and see if I can speed up the bumpage process since I have about 20 inquiries showing on EQ right now.

Not sure if there's a thread about all of the different services available to consumers for daily pulls....

Do you think Chase might be slowly rolling out a new policy that new cards can't have credit lines reallocated to them? It was reported in another AOR thread that a Citi rep said the same things (but, like you, they were able to call back and reallocate).

If Citi and Chase make it a blanket policy to disallow credit line reallocations on news cards, it will seriously diminish 0% BT profits.

don't know about threads on daily pulls. I use TrueCredit. AMEX also has daily pulls but don't count on their score though as its on a slightly different scale, but it will do daily pulls for bumpage

I had several problems reallocating with citi, before AOR its hit or miss with them as they supposadly enter the information in a system which is reviewed by another department and then its either processed or rejeceted. But I had to keep checking my CLs to see if it went through. When they didn't go through and i called, I was told that it was declined, but couldn;t get an answer why.
For my AOR citi offered to reallocate from a card that I had tried to move CL from several times before. They did reallocate.

Received my citi drivers edge card today rewards of 6% for gas, supermarkets drugstores for 1 year. plus it has a 0% 12 month no fee BT offer. the good thing about citi cards is that the 12 months begins after you make your first BT as long as it is within 1 year. I plan on using this card for the 6% rewards on gas etc.. as well as their .01 cnet per mile driving bonus. in month 11 I will put in for the BT.

Received an email from juniper declined due to too much available credit with them. I have $0 balance but 2 cards with a total of $45K Credit line. I tried to get them to open the account by moving part of the credit lines from these 2 accounts, but they refused. they said I need to close the account first, then wait at least 3 days and then I can reapply for the card. I declined that offer as with all the inquiries this AOR did they would not give me a card and I would lose this line. I will try one more time on Monday, I am also sending them an email to see if I have any luck.

Has someone had any success in getting Juniper/Barclays to open a card they declined with a rallocation. they do reallocation for open accounts, but unlike citi, chase, bofa they will not open an account by moving CL.

Wow, wish this occured to me. I ended up using it for a $16k BT instead of % back, never realized I could have done both like you did. Very nice.

CAN"T FIGURE HOW I GOT THIS ONE:

I was looking at a FW thread on the $75 interest checking promo and went to the HSBC website. On a lark I clicked on the credit card section. HSBC has a prescreening process where they do a soft pull on esperian and tell you what cards they think you can get with them.

hsbc prescreen link.

I had done this about 2 weeks before my recent AOR and the response I got back was that I wouodn't qualify for anything except a secure card. Also, on my last AOR in June I applied for the HSBC GM flex card and Only got a $600 CL. A card I cancelled right after I got my cardoffers bonus.

I decided to try it again and this time I got all there cards as probable approvals. I still was hesistant as i was not interested in a small cl when they charge a BT fee. BUT I decided to go ahead but NOT put in a BT request with the app. I then got an approved message and then went through a identity verification process online. After completing the verification I was told I would get an email from their service department with details. At this point I did not know the CL I would get. HSBC also has a check app status online feature, so I decided to look and much to my SHOCK, I was approved for $18,750. Once I get the card in the mail I will call a do my BT. I do not know if they allow BT to checking accounts, if not I will send it through one of my cards that has no cash advance fees.

I got declined. I just applied for another HSBC card the other day though. Oh well.

Am I missing it or does it say somewhere that it is only a soft pull?

EDIT: Is that the reference to "pre-qualification purposes and no other" ?

Today I received the last of my AMEX cards. Starwoods. 10000 points with first purchase. $3000 cl.
I Also have had the 25000 points posted as well as my 10000 thank you points.

I was given a definitive answer from juniper, I must first either reduce or close my existing juniper cards , they will not open the account and reallocate the CL. Since I had no use for the existing juniper cards as the 0% Bt time is up. I called and reduced my cl and then have the app for the i fly america card relooked at. It is currently pending.

Have you started your BTs yet? I'm especially interested to see what you do with the AMEX IN:NYC (and if you can avoid the dreaded FR.)

In January wifey got a 37.5k credit line from AMEX In NYC and so far no FR (knock wood). Drew 33,750 initially followed by a payment of 3800 before the first statement printed. 90% was the plan but I got spooked by getting shut off by FNBofO days after their BT posted. Frankly though, I think borrowing more than you intend to utilize and making a large payment before the first statement just might be a good thing for people to think about doing. Issuers seem to think the world of substantial payments over the minimum due, and it doesn't cost anything since it's their money. Anyway, this is going to be SOP for our AORs in the future.

Interesting. What does utilization look like across all her AMEX lines? Thanks to AMEX crack, I've got 100K of AMEX credit but I'm nervous as hell about actually using it.

You know, AMEX 'crack' showed up shortly after her AOR and I decided to forego the opportunity until after we had paid the AMEX Cash Rebates card bill. Afterwards 'she' requested that it go from 6300 to 7500. So 'true greed' has prevented 'her' from requesting anywhere near the 24,900 people here are requesting across the board. To answer your question, she has 37.5k with In:NYC with 28.45K in 0%, 3k on *wood biz card with 0% utilized, and as of today 2.5k of 7.5k on her 'Cash Rebates' card. 'Cash Rebates' card is = to the AMEX Blue Cash which is our 'everyday' card.

I have begun doing several BT's including the AMEX. I did the bt for more than $67,000 with the in-nyc card. Also have done my 0% bt's with RBS, BOfa, PNC and chase. I still have citi and HSBC to do.

received my hsbc card today. called to activate and the rep askied me while activating the card if I wanted to do a Bt, I checked to ensure there wa still a max fee of $75 and 0% since I did not put a BT with the APP. BT of $18,400 She also said I can request the funds to be deposited to my checking account. Which I did, funds whould be in my account in 3-5 days.

Still waiting word on my juniper card. My second chase business card is doubtful as i seems you can not apply for more than 1 business card within 30 days. Although the letter they sent me didn't say declined, it implied it was being treated as a duplicate. If I don;t get anything in one week, i'll assume it wont be coming in. Also decided not to pursue the 2nd advata card based on their cryptic message. I still have 5 month on my 0% bt with my existing card and it dosne't look like they were going to give me the second card without giving up the first.

Got 3 checks in the mail from pnc for no BT fee. When I first got pnc card they only gave me 3500 cl , but when i called to do a BT on the phone and told the rep i would have done more they brought my limit up to 7500, I had asked them for 15000 but they told me the max i can get is 7500.

I had done a Bt for all but $100 on my cl. I decided to click on the request credit increase button on their website, they allow up to 5000 increase on the form. I selected 5000, and was notified that I would find out in 3 days. Checked today and got the additioanl 5000. am using one of the checks to to deposit 5000 in my acocunt. also clicked on the credit increase form again to see if I can get an additional 5000 again.

So wait, your original CL with PNC was $3500, you bumped it up up another $4000 via a CSR, and then yet another $5000 via internet?

Holy crap.

Fianlly, got juniper to give me their i fly america card 0% 12 mo $50 max fee. I didn't get any new credit but had other credit reallocated. It was a VERY painful process. FIrst I was told they would not move the line to open the account. that I needed to apply for a new card. Then I was told to reduce the other lines and reapply. Which I did, and still got a denial letter for sufficient credit with juniper. Finally, after sending a STRONGLY worded email outlining the misinformation the reps and their email department gave me. They provided me the direct number to the credit deapartment. (which is actually what I had asked for after the initial denial).

The credit department was very nice, went through some credit history with me on my other accounts with them and saw the reduction in CL that I made , they then proceeded to give me the amount of credit that I had previously reduced to put on this new I fly america card.

1-866-408-4064, They are available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday.

I checked online about 15 minutes later and the card shows. I can't do any BT's yet as they do not allow them until the card is received and activated.

Up until that point, if I didn't get a good answer I would have closed my cards (FICO be dammed) based on all the runaround and misinformation they had previously givin me. As I made more than 5 calls and had 4 emails back and forth with them until they finally got me to the right place to help.

Updated Qs

Received my juniper card and did an online transfer 0%BT. Also had AMEX call for the infamous finanical review where they had suspended all my accounts. the reason they told me was because of the large amount of credit that I currently had in use. Over $80,000 in balance transfers at 0%.

I faxed the info AMEX asked for Approval to pull my tax return for last year. I did. a couple days later the freeze was removed i guess they were ok with my tax return.

I had 2 more cards that had neither an approval nor denial, advanta and my second chase card. advanta would not give a second card as they only allow one card. chase considered my second app done the same day as a duplicate and ignored it.

Final results 13 approved, 6 denials, 2 no action.
Biggest surprise: HSBC not the gm cards, based on prior experiance expected a low line but got the best from them. close second PNC 2 bump up on credit lines after initial approval.

surprised: 4 AMEX applications all approved. Only 1 inquiry

Most disappointing. Juniper, gave me a major runaround, next time if i apply for a nother card with them and am told i have enough credit with them. I will insist on speaking to the credit department directy, and not listen to them to reduce the line and reaply.

In not a single case did I submit the BT with the app. I always waited for the approval before submitting the bt. I did not want to pay 3% $75 max fee for a small CL.

Receieved $74550 in new credit, more improtantly was able to get aditinal cards with issuers that my 0% expired and then reallocate funds and use for BT $191,500. already did most of the BT's, am holding off on the citi one as its 12 months after first bt, and I am going to take advatage of the 6% rebate on gas, supermarkets etc..
awaiting bonus for my 10,000 starwoods cards, as well as see if I actually get my card offer bonuses.

MY score hasn't taken a major hit yet as a lot of the BT's have not cycled through yet.

The next month or 2 will determine if I get any negative action for all the balances that I will be carrying with very high utilization. I decided to go all out this and take the risk as new cards will get harder and harder and will strategically close some newer cards.

Updated QS

$191,000 in BT? Hokey smokes, that's pretty impressive. How much of that is going to be personal, and what's your total personal lines now? I think there's a pretty darn good chance of adverse action, which could be interesting

If you're lucky, whatever FR you had from AMEX will make you "immune" for a while from them. I kind of expect bad things from Chase (they've been tough lately), and PNC seems a little bit skittish.
