In preperation for an AOR, which credit card issuers have no problems BT'ing to debit cards,ACH'ing to checking accounts, or mailing BT checks either online or via CSR. I know Citi and BOA have no problems doing these. Any others?

yeah I know about that thread, but its geared for getting BT's from issuers that are difficult. I'm interested in issuers that will BT easily to debit card, ACH to bank account, or mail a check with just a call to a CSR or online website.

Searched using term "debit bt" and got the following:

With that said - I recently did an AORBT and of the majors (chase, citi, boa, fia, discover and advanta) not one BT'd to my debit - I either got a call from a CSR or a notice saying the account number was invalid. I used HSBC, Citi and BoA debit cards to mix but not match (no BoA-BoA requests).

Anyway, that thread I linked looks good.

Just did one from Chase to my checking account. This was on an existing 3-year old card though. CSR took bank info 5 days ago and it is in my bank now.

Ditto with Chase, but the account was around a month old when I did it. The brand new account wasn't available for ACH transfer just yet. They also said they waived my fee but it showed up on the account today. Better call them...

Bank of America is quite easy

Did any of you use your Debit card numbers for the transaction, or did you use your routing and account numbers?

There is a VERY big difference. CC issuers that do not offer BTs to banks via routing and account numbers will (according to FW lore) allow you to enter your 16 digit debit card number, which then supposedly directs the funds to your checking account. I tried this with every BT in my last AORBT spree (11 BTs from 8 different issuers) , and found not one CC issuer that it worked with.

This is a funny thing, because I have the exact opposite experience. I did 4 Citi BT's and 1 Discover and 1 Chase using my debit card number from Wells Fargo and all of them went through in less than a week totalling around $25,000.

I thought about starting a thread similar to this, but thought it would get flamed with "do your research by reading other threads".

It sounds you are in a similar situation as me. I am interested in doing sort of a mini-AOR. I want to apply for a smaller number of cards and I only want to apply for ones that are either:

1)Very easy to acquire the 0% balance transfer into a check or transfer into savings account
2)The very best sign-up bonuses.

It would be convenient to have a list that had the following info. I have listed the Citi PremierPass card, because this is the only one I have first hand experience with.

Card: Citi PremierPass
Sign-up bonus: 15,000 thank you points (=$150 gift card)
0% balance transfer: Yes, 0% for 12 months
balance transfer fee: $0, waived with offer
Acquiring the BT: easy, log onto citicard.com and request the BT in the form of a check to yourself

Hmm, are you guys saying you have had limited success with Discover & AMEX?

I did a Discover BT to my Wachovia CheckCard on Jan. 9, still nothing, but I got an email yesterday from Discover saying the BT has been posted on my account. I also initiated a AMEX BT to GMAC CheckCard on the 15th. I'll post here and in the other thread on their status, but it looks grim if what you all say is true.

I'm not seeing that this is a waived BT fee or that the AF is waived. The 15k points you mention is for the elite level of this card.

I saw a webpage someplace where someone did one from Citi, and showed a bunch of screen shots. Very informative really.

You can BT to a citi CC with no problem. There's an option there for a credit balance refund. Bad part is that it takes a few weeks for the check to show up.

But if you happen to have NO-FEE BT (APR doesn't matter) on that Citi card, you can request a "balance transfer check" (NOT a credit balance refund) in the amount of just the credit balance made out to you and receive it a week later. Citibank will become your best friend when it comes time to cash out the BT funds from your AOR.

I'll be sure to get one of their cards, probably the one mentioned above despite the fact that it's details don't seem to jive with what is described. I need to really get busy and get ready for this over the weekend.

Has anyone applied for the citi premierpass lately? I'd like to make sure that the elite is annual fee free for the first year as I don't see mention of it.
