During the application process, I pulled up the terms and conditions page, and it said "Annual Fee: none"I am still a bit skeptical that that annual fee will be waived after the first year; not a big deal, just cancel the card and get the fee back.

After clicking through the link, who in their right mind would use this link and then choose to apply for the offer on the right for just 5000 points and a non-Elite PP version ? And also, who in their right mind would create the ad for these 2 offers, with the one on the right being inferior in every possible way ?

Good questions indeed, hopefully I won't kill it for anyone since I will be trying to call in for an Upgrade. The website is legit, so makes it that much more confusing. That's one heck of a typo if that's what it is... and I would still like to see the add where it came from, oh where art thou ProBanker?

Just keep a printout of the T&C since they are only delivered electronically. If after a year they try to assess the annual fee, that sent by fax should be a good enough argument to get out of it.

It just feels like that BofA situation on one of these thread where the T&C say Balance Tranfer Fee : Null, or something like that, and of course they hit everyone with 3%. They seem to get it refunded with some calls, but it aint smooth sailing.

I have never read of anyone being rejected for PP Elite but approved for PP regular.

The Terms and Conditions link for both applications are identical. That seems sorta weird.

EDIT : They are not identical. I just cant see.

They are both MC World cards. This isn't a Visa Sig vs. Plat. Plus card thing. I doubt that the credit worthiness is diff for either card - one just has crappier earning potential since it is normally free and the other isn't.

Hmm OK I guess that makes sense. So in this offer the fact that the annual fee is waived for the Elite card does render the regular card absolutely meaningless.

diazfranco said:For those concerned about Citi not reporting credit limits on this card, it would be a good idea to do this:

1. Apply for the Citi PremierPass and get 15,000 TY points
2. Apply for the Citi Diamond Reward AMEX and get 10,000 TY points
3. Since the second one does report CLs, transfer your available CL from PremierPass to Diamond Reward AMEX. Your first card will show $0 CL.
4. Take advantage of the no-fee BT offer that the second card offers

Is there a link for an app with 10,000 points?
The one I found was only 6,000 TY points.

So to summarize...

Maybe an annual fee (after the first year)
Maybe a balance transfer fee
Maybe hurt your credit

V nice post, OP.

I already have Premier Pass ( 15K TY points )... received last October ...
( funny story : called CSR after annual fee posted; I complained; CSR gave additional 5k TY points to stay at elite level; then 20 days later I called and down-graded from Elite ... pro-rated annual fee refunded ... got to keep all TY points ... hmmm ... )

Wife has Bus. Premier Pass.

... we've already collected 35K TY sign-up bonus points from these accounts, plus have FREE BT $$$ (~$23k) working

I went ahead and applied for this Premier-Pass-Elite offer for each of us.

... deferred approval ... we'll see.

... how can CITI make any $$ with all us FWF'ers .... gotta luv'em

have a profitable day

Jeff K.

stomie said:Can anyone confirm no fee for balance transfers? It is not in the terms and conditions.

For all those who are wondering about whether the a transfer fee applies to the BT offer; it's clearly stated that it does in the final bullet point below the APR info on the ad...

"Balance transfer fee applies with this offer."

But then, in the 'fine print', under the point marker with '††' it says that...

"The balance transfer fee is 3% of the amount of each balance you transfer ($5 minimum, $250 maximum), but waived with this offer"

Can't get any more clear than that.

very conflicting, but I beleive the consumer would win this argument for $.00 BT fee

Updated quick summary, after numerous pestering, upgrading is not possible. Beyond that, there is still no one that knows about this particular promotion.

Had to apply, just got the AMEX Card with 10k points, the Diamonds Preferred with 0% for life of balance and a credit limit increase. This is above their normal limits of Credit Apps for a single person but they seemed to like my new reported income so much they must have forgotten all about the limit on credit requests. At least I hope so...

On another note:
"Earn 2 points for every dollar you spend at supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations, commuter transportation, and parking merchants plus earn 1 point for every other dollar you spend.*"

I love that line, they are so sneaky. I can earn two points on some purchases listed, BUT on all the other purchase I earn 1 point for EVERY OTHER DOLLAR. LOLOLOLOLOLL

I don't get it, were you trying to make a joke?
"and one ThankYou Purchase Point for every dollar spent on all other purchases."
Straight from Terms and Conditions, the front ad is not as informative as usual.

If my wife and I each sign up for this card, can the TY points go into the same account?
