Can we hit a cool million in this thread alone?
So far, I've calculated CLIs totaling $638,600 as a result of your post, OP. (For posters who didn't state their initial CL, I assumed $10k.)
Am.Ex will probably wake up with a bad hangover Monday morning and wonder what the hell happened over the weekend... but the FW damage has already been done.
Anyone else care to chime in? |

Can someone tell me what the excitement is about? I mean, unless you don't have enough of a limit to handle your monthly expenses or you can pull on it for free balance transfers to stick into the market or some other asset asccount, why request an increase? I mean, it’s not like its increasing your net worth or anything--its just some imaginary number. Do you get warm fuzzies by having AMEX validate you? I'm not trying to be an ass--just trying to understand why it’s such a victory to get a CL raised from 15K->25K when you only spend 5K/month. |

Not to rain on everybodys parade. But, What do you think the chances on AMEX seeing all this activity and starting financial reviews? I did one increase so far, but I choose to only do a moderate one. |

well they could just reduce your lines, but the fact is this helps your debt ratio. My heloc is killing my score so this should raise the %% of debt to total limits a bit and raise my score up some more. |

Bring on the FR. Nothing I told them is false. And now would be a good time to ask for this info, since I'm already gathering it for the IRS / EDD / FTB. |

I have a Starwood AMEX w/50K line. Asked to go to 60 and they request IRS 1040 for past two years. Not sure if I will do it. Generally I spend an average of 40-50 a month paid in full every month on the card. The Starwood rooms are worth it for me.

AMEX has actually not increased my credit line for 2 quarters now. Usually, it was an automatic increase almost every quarter. They must have finally realized that I really don't need it. |

Has anyone gotten an instant raise on a business card? |

yes; it will ask your business income as well.
fwiw i put in same household 149K and business was 124K. I got approved to 24,900 on Delta skymiles platinum and an AMEX blue for business.
It works on everything but the charge products and that business line of credit thing i used to have (175/year fee, but very high limit like 75K). wasn't competitive since payback was 1/33 instead of the normal 1/48 imo. but there was no cash advance fee or check fee or anything. |

You think this will work on an AMEX card I just got a few days ago with a $6400 limit? |

I will wait. My AMEX won't report until April 1st if I do it now anyways. |

Yes, I did it over the automated phone system for a AMEX Starwood card I just got a week or so ago and CL went from 5k to 25k. |

Personal validation, status in the troop, and it's a flippin chick magnet!
OK, wifey just got an In:NYC AMEX with a 0%/no BT fee and we can reallocate, but that's really minor compared to the above.
But then again, I decided to wait until Tuesday for AMEX. Thought I'd wait and see if everyone here gets FRed and also a payment will be credited Monday night. However, I did go to the BofA website and got 11,800 in approved increases, told they'd get back to me on the 4th request. They just last week gave up a new card with 25k limit. That was the account that didn't get an instant increase. I might have done better had I actually requested a specific number, every single increase was increased 20% rounded up to the next $100. |

But I thought AMEX does not report to the bureaus unless you go delinquent. |
