here is the small print:
The miminum balance to open a Dirct Plus Checking Account and earn the $100 bunus is $50. Bonus will not be considered part of the minimum opening deposit. To be eligle for the Bonus you are also required to establish direct deposit OR sign up for free online bill pay. Bonus is limited to one new checking account per household, may not be combined with other offer. Bonus credited at account opening and is for NEW consumer checking accounts only opened with funds not currently on deposit. Offer expires 3/31/07

$5 per month fee if Direct Deposit is not setup for the Account Per the "Change in Terms" Pamphlet mailed with my welcome kit.

Effective April 9, 2007

Direct Checking Plus: You will be charged $5 for each monthly statement cycle in which there is no direct deposit into your Account.

their site says that checking requires a monthly direct deposit of salary or social security...otherwise, $4 service charge...

When I look at the terms it says there's no fee "with monthly direct deposit of your salary, Social Security or other recurring deposit." Maybe it depends on the state? No mention of fees for closing the account or of how long you'd have to keep it open.

Hard pull?

Sounds like a good deal if we can find out from anyone if there is a hard pull and how long we have to keep funds in the account... I could pay a few bills for a couple months and not have the maintenance fees, but if its too long it may not be worth it.
I looked at the site and beginning app and I couldn't see any answers to those questions...

In MA, the terms are no monthly fee with salary DD, Social Security, or "other recurring deposit." To me, that means $1 Paypal. No?

Note that they let you make the initial deposit from CC up to $1k. I hope it goes through as a purchase or the cash advance fee will take a big bite out of my $100 bonus.

According to this thread - Banks that perform a hard pull, LaSalle does not.

mine showed up as a purchase, doesn't it depend on the CC you use?
