ADVANTA BUSINESS CARD arrived - 12.5k limit AMEX Preferred Rewards Card arrived - no preset limit (10k rewards points will be mine!) Chase Business sent me a letter stating that I had submitted 2 applications and that one was not even going to be reviewed. Didn't specify which one, so I'm just waiting until I get a card in the mail to see which one was approved to be able to tell one was denied
Also, I called National City again and here's what happened. The Elite card I signed up for was discontinued on 3/1 (the day after my AOR) so they think that their system did a dump of all of the applicants that applied for that card on 2/28 (real nice to know...how organized!) but they were nice enough to approve me over the phone for their new card (can't recall the name) that has the exact same features/benefits/rewards as the Elite card did. 12k limit.
I'll update the OP with all of this information later tonight or tomorrow.

Post updated.
FYI - I plan on calling ADVANTA tomorrow to see if they will do BT to checking as others have posted that they have been able to successfully get them to do.

What was the chronology of your CLI's, CC apps and savings account apps? What would you recommend? Should they be all done the same day or does it even matter?

On 2/28, I started with all of the new applications, and then immediately did the online credit increase requests for the existing cards.
From the OP:
Bank Accounts opened: ELOAN 5.25% Savings (2/27/07) Citi Checking (20,000 Thank You Points) (2/28/07) iGO 5.30% Savings (3/4/07) AMTRUST 5.36% Savings (3/5/07)

Mission accomplished. Advanta told me this morning that the $12,000 of 15 months 0% BT money should be in my bank account by ACH within 3 business days. 3% fee w/$50 cap makes this very nice!

Also noticed that a couple of inquiries I had expected would fall off by now were still there:
FAC 03/02/2005 TransUnion FDC 03/02/2005 TransUnion FIRST AMERICAN CREDCO 03/02/2005 Experian KROLL FACTUAL DATA/060 03/02/2005 Experian
Since it's been over 2 years, I thought they'd be gone by now...
These inquiries almost certainly have to do with my mortgage application because we purchased our home in June 2005.
They won't be factored into your FICO score calculations. Inquiries over 1yr aren't counted, inquiries over 6 month have minimal effect.
Also, FYI, Experian keeps inquiries for 25 months, not 24 like everyone else. TU, I've noticed, doesn't drop them right on the 24 month mark either, they miss it by a few days. Either way, you shouldn't be concerned about those 4.
I noticed the TU ones fell off today.

Also, yesterday I received a welcome packet from CitiBanking for the checking account I opened with the 20,000 TY points bonus. The welcome packet clearly states that I will receive the 20,000 TY points after complying with the guidelines. ($1500 deposit AND 6 months of direct deposit OR billpay for 2 bills/month)

Probably soft...not sure how to tell for sure. I've listed in the OP all of the inquiries from my credit report starting 2/28 - present.

Regarding the Chase United Mileage Plus personal card, I received a letter yesterday stating that my application had been denied. It had a reference number and a phone number, so I called them this morning, and they said it was denied by the computer, but they approved me immediately over the phone for a $5,000 limit and said I will have the card in 7-10 days.
Regarding the PNC Bank Business card, When I spoke to them this morning after receiving my card yesterday, they said that they will be sending checks in the mail that I can use for BT, and that as long as I use those checks, I can write a check to myself and it will still be considered a BT and not a Cash Advance and therefore be applicable for the 12months 0% no fee BT.

Yesterday was a big day for the mailbox. I received 5 cards.
BOA WorldPoints Platinum Plus Discover Miles Card Citi Professional Card AT&T Universal Card PNC Personal Card
BOA was a stickler about not waving the BT fee, or even lowering it much. They stuck to their 3% no cap, except when I told them I was interested in a $20,000 BT, and they offered to knock it down to $500 instead of the $600 it would have been. I told them no thanks.
Still waiting on the Discover Miles Card BT checks. When those arrive, I'll put them to good use.
Same with the PNC card - waiting on the BT checks to arrive.

Chase allowed me to re-allocate the credit limit from my Priority Club Visa over to the new Sony Card today. I moved over $23,000 to give the Sony card a $30,000 limit and that leaves the Priority Club card at $2,000.

Re: Credit Score trending
I can't check TrueCredit until late tonight because I didn't get a chance to check it until late last night, so I have to wait 24 hours. Anyways, when I called today to cancel my Citi Credit Monitoring trial service, they offered me a free triple credit report and score, and since my trial doesn't actually end for 2 weeks, I accepted. The credit scores were quite different from what has been showing on TrueCredit...is this normal for it to be that big of a discrepancy between the scores at different monitoring services in such a short amount of time? I'm curious to see what TrueCredit shows later tonight (it'll be at least 10PM Central before I can do it) and if there is any change there too.
CREDIT SCORES DATE TU EXP EQ 3/3 750 754 724 (PrivacyMatters) 3/4 750 752 724 (PrivacyMatters) 3/5 750 752 724 (PrivacyMatters) 3/6 752 752 721 (PrivacyMatters) 3/7 752 752 721 (PrivacyMatters) 3/8 752 752 721 (canceled privacymatters.com monitoring after pulling today) 3/8 752 752 707 (now with TrueCredit triple score monitoring, pulled again today-no idea why the big change in EQ score) 3/9 752 741 707 (TrueCredit) 3/10 752 741 707 (TrueCredit) 3/11 752 741 707 (TrueCredit) 3/12 714 727 738 (Citi Credit Monitoring)
Unbelieevable said: <snip> (now with TrueCredit triple score monitor, pulled again today-no idea why the big change in EQ score) <snip> (Citi Credit Monitoring offered me a triple pull before canceling their trial, so this is a different service...very odd how different it is)These are "FAKO" credit scores and have little relation to real FICO scores, and it's not surprising at all that one company's FAKO score is so different than another companies FAKO score. FAKO scores are not much more than a barely educated guess as to what your credit score is based on what's in your credit report.

Today I received the United Mileage Plus BUSINESS Card, which I wasn't aware yet that I had been approved for...$2,500 limit. Also received the HSBC card with the $600 limit that I may not even bother to activate unless they want to give me a higher limit because there's no reward bonus or benefit with that card and that limit.
I have thus far completed the following balance transfers:
National City - $10,700 (to Kawasaki Card - will be used to pay off $10,700 balance) PNC Personal - $10,000 (to Kawasaki Card - will be refunded to me via check because of overpayment) SonyCard - $25,000 (used BT check included in envelope with my card) Discover Miles Card - $5,000 (used BT check sent via mail to me) ADVANTA - $12,000 (BT to checking over the phone, simple) ----------------------------- TOTALS - $62,700
This BT money will be split up between my Savings accounts setup per the OP. I will probably do more transfers, but I am waiting for the rewards purchases to process on several cards first (such as the CITI cards in particular) so I can pay off the purchase before doing the BT.

I have just removed the following card from the list of cards applied to:
...because I don't think I actually applied for it. I think I skipped over it on my list because there were some below it that were more attractive to me, and I never made it back to it. I just went through all of the papers I printed out from that morning and that's the ONLY card on the list that I have nothing printed out for, which tells me I never applied for it.
I believe I would leave it on the OP list just for the benefit of those considering an upcoming AOR. Just add a one line explanation that you forgot to apply. The terms for that card look good so it may help someone later if they can get large enough CL. Thanks for your work. It is very interesting.
Debating on whether or not to give it a whirl since I just did my AOR 2 weeks ago.
I already had 2 chase cards before the AOR, and was approved for 3 more (Chase Sony, Chase United Personal, and Chase United Business) so I'm not sure if they'll let me have another one this soon. I'll think about it tonight and may do it in the morning.
Anyone have any idea if it's even worth a shot? Since the 3 new cards are essentially branded cards and business cards, maybe it will be OK?

At this point you have nothing to lose as far as an inquiry is concerned. Chase is going to do soft pulls anyway so I don't believe it will increase the risk of adverse action. Using the same reasoning about 2 weeks post AOR I requested an increase from 6700 to 20000 on the VW card that was obtained in the January AOR. I was surprised that not only did they say yes, they sprang for 25k. They did do a hard pull.
Then again there's the thought that promos come and promos go, but there are always promos to take advantage of.

I went for it, no instant decision, and when I called I was GRILLED about why I was applying for so much credit in such a short period of time. At any rate, they agreed to re-allocate some credit to create this new account and I should receive it in the next 7-10 days.

So when you say you were grilled, what was your final answer? What did you tell them to get them to give you the credit?

How did I respond? I answered all of her first few questions truthfully (many of them were for verification purposes) and then she asked why I had been applying for so much credit with Chase recently and with other financial institutions, and I told her that I had a good year. The she asked about the Sony Card BT check from the other day, and I told her it was for my eBay business, to fund local purchases with local vendors for the items I sell on eBay. Then it was questions about why I had so many accounts with Chase, and I explained that I like the variety of rewards on the different cards, and that I was interested in the freedom program now. She finally said she could reallocate the line from an existing card and I would have my new card in 7-10 days.

Before January, I had no chase cards at all, but I had both my first and second mortgage on my house with them. I applied for three of their credits in my January AOR, and got approved for all three. As a matter of fact, when I called in about the last one, they asked me if I'd be interested in their Chase Freedom card, to which I asked if it would cost me an inquiry. The CSR said no, so I said ok, which I sadly regret now! So, all in all, I went from 0 to 4 Chase cards from one AOR. (YMMV, depending on if you have mortgages with them. )

Just tried to refresh my credit report on TrueCredit.com, and this is what it told me:
Credit Bureau(s) Cannot Validate Info We are unable to obtain your credit report information.
What happened: Invalid or unknown record.
Explanation: One example of the cause of this error is when the address entered is not recognized by the credit bureau because it has "unusual" formatting—perhaps the city doesn't match with the state, or the street address doesn't match with the city.
Anyone else ever had this problem? It's been working fine for days, and now this. Seems a little strange.

I called FNB Omaha, and was informed that they denied me. I'll be getting a letter in the mail supposedly that will explain why.
Also called BOA AMEX about that one - talk about strange. Apparently they said they received 2 applications for the other BOA card, and none for the BOA AMEX. I know for a fact that I applied for 2 different cards because I have the printouts from that morning, but I'm just going to leave it as-is since I'm satisfied with the results of the AOR as they stand.

Ditto! Although I'm still waiting for the 2nd cycle so that the negative goes away and my points actually become available for use. (see thread about that card if you have no idea what I'm talking about)
1) What is the advantage of AOR besides getting free perks and huge credit line?
2) If I have BT offer. Can I reuest let's say 20k of balance transfer to my bank checkcard VISA account? Will it be treated as CASH advance? If not then I get free 20k money in my bank account earning 5%.
thanks in advance.

1. Sign-up Bonuses and large/additional credit lines to be used for BT are the main advantages and probably why about 90% of FWFers do an AOR. Another advantage is the opportunity to most likely raise your credit score in the long term (after a likely sizable drop for a while).
2. BT transfers to checking or debit cards are YMMV with almost all cc companies. Advanta allowed me to easily transfer BT funds to my checking account over the phone. Chase sent a BT check with my card, and I used it to write myself a check. Just be sure to confirm that the terms of the check coincide with the BT terms (with Chase, the terms were printed on the back of the sheet that the check was attached to). I have seen in other FWF threads that others have had good luck with BT to debit cards through credit unions, and the money goes straight to their checking account, but again, YMMV.
