The new Chase Freedom $250 offer interests me.....

Debating on whether or not to give it a whirl since I just did my AOR 2 weeks ago.

I already had 2 chase cards before the AOR, and was approved for 3 more (Chase Sony, Chase United Personal, and Chase United Business) so I'm not sure if they'll let me have another one this soon. I'll think about it tonight and may do it in the morning.

Anyone have any idea if it's even worth a shot? Since the 3 new cards are essentially branded cards and business cards, maybe it will be OK?

At this point you have nothing to lose as far as an inquiry is concerned. Chase is going to do soft pulls anyway so I don't believe it will increase the risk of adverse action. Using the same reasoning about 2 weeks post AOR I requested an increase from 6700 to 20000 on the VW card that was obtained in the January AOR. I was surprised that not only did they say yes, they sprang for 25k. They did do a hard pull.

Then again there's the thought that promos come and promos go, but there are always promos to take advantage of.

I went for it, no instant decision, and when I called I was GRILLED about why I was applying for so much credit in such a short period of time. At any rate, they agreed to re-allocate some credit to create this new account and I should receive it in the next 7-10 days.

So when you say you were grilled, what was your final answer? What did you tell them to get them to give you the credit?

I agree, bad form to not mention how you responded to being grilled old man.

How did I respond? I answered all of her first few questions truthfully (many of them were for verification purposes) and then she asked why I had been applying for so much credit with Chase recently and with other financial institutions, and I told her that I had a good year. The she asked about the Sony Card BT check from the other day, and I told her it was for my eBay business, to fund local purchases with local vendors for the items I sell on eBay. Then it was questions about why I had so many accounts with Chase, and I explained that I like the variety of rewards on the different cards, and that I was interested in the freedom program now. She finally said she could reallocate the line from an existing card and I would have my new card in 7-10 days.

Before January, I had no chase cards at all, but I had both my first and second mortgage on my house with them. I applied for three of their credits in my January AOR, and got approved for all three. As a matter of fact, when I called in about the last one, they asked me if I'd be interested in their Chase Freedom card, to which I asked if it would cost me an inquiry. The CSR said no, so I said ok, which I sadly regret now! So, all in all, I went from 0 to 4 Chase cards from one AOR. (YMMV, depending on if you have mortgages with them. )

FYI - Chase hard-pulled TransUnion when I applied for the card. Transunion Score on TrueCredit dropped from 752 down to 749.

Did you get any confirmation from her on the $250 signing bonus perchance?

I didn't ask...didn't want to cause any more trouble/suspicion!

Just tried to refresh my credit report on TrueCredit.com, and this is what it told me:

Credit Bureau(s) Cannot Validate Info
We are unable to obtain your credit report information.

What happened:
Invalid or unknown record.

Explanation:
One example of the cause of this error is when the address entered is not recognized by the credit bureau because it has "unusual" formatting—perhaps the city doesn't match with the state, or the street address doesn't match with the city.

Anyone else ever had this problem? It's been working fine for days, and now this. Seems a little strange.

alert mods

I have had this problem when I was doing daily pulls. You only solution is to call TrueCredit and they can then help you. I do not think it is anything to do with your AOR.

Thanks. I called them and it was a problem with cookies. They had me delete the TrueCredit.com cookies off my computer and now it works fine again.

I called FNB Omaha, and was informed that they denied me. I'll be getting a letter in the mail supposedly that will explain why.

Also called BOA AMEX about that one - talk about strange. Apparently they said they received 2 applications for the other BOA card, and none for the BOA AMEX. I know for a fact that I applied for 2 different cards because I have the printouts from that morning, but I'm just going to leave it as-is since I'm satisfied with the results of the AOR as they stand.

The Discover Miles Card BT I did showed up in Experian today and lowered my Experian FAKO score quite a bit.

I noticed you signed up for the AMX Business Gold Rewards card. When you received it, did it mention anywhere having the 25k bonus points, or just 5k points? I received my card and there is no mention of the 20k Bzz bonus points.

Thanks,
-Pak

I applied for that card and it also had no mention of the bonus. I made one charge and within days received 20,000 points. Then after the first billing period closed and a statement was generated I received the 5,000 additional points.

Ditto! Although I'm still waiting for the 2nd cycle so that the negative goes away and my points actually become available for use. (see thread about that card if you have no idea what I'm talking about)

Nice post. Green 4 u.

2 Questions.

1) What is the advantage of AOR besides getting free perks and huge credit line?

2) If I have BT offer. Can I reuest let's say 20k of balance transfer to my bank checkcard VISA account?
Will it be treated as CASH advance? If not then I get free 20k money in my bank account earning 5%.

thanks in advance.

1. Sign-up Bonuses and large/additional credit lines to be used for BT are the main advantages and probably why about 90% of FWFers do an AOR. Another advantage is the opportunity to most likely raise your credit score in the long term (after a likely sizable drop for a while).

2. BT transfers to checking or debit cards are YMMV with almost all cc companies. Advanta allowed me to easily transfer BT funds to my checking account over the phone. Chase sent a BT check with my card, and I used it to write myself a check. Just be sure to confirm that the terms of the check coincide with the BT terms (with Chase, the terms were printed on the back of the sheet that the check was attached to). I have seen in other FWF threads that others have had good luck with BT to debit cards through credit unions, and the money goes straight to their checking account, but again, YMMV.
