Yes, I've already done it...yesterday. I put all of my time and focus into researching and didn't have a chance to get a thread put up before moving forward, and I just wanted to get it done and then post the results for everyone to see and use for future reference.

I spent about 20 hours in the last several days putting this together, basically every moment of free time I had was devoted to checking out offers and compiling the spreadsheet I ultimately used yesterday morning when I began applying. I want to thank EVERYONE who has posted their AOR information, and hope that others can learn from mine just as I learned from other previous AOR threads. This was my first ever AOR, however, if things continue to go as well as they have thus far, another one will be in my future.

I had several reasons for doing this:
1. Rewards - Gift Cards, miles, statement credits, etc.
2. Needed to transfer some balances (see linked thread above for example)
3. Extra credit room/promos for BT to checking for placing in high yield savings accts (ELOAN, AMTrustDirect, iGO)

Credit Scores Before (FAKO):

Chase Freedom (20,000 Bonus points = $250 check after 1st purchase)/(Approved $25,000, card arrived 4/5/07)

As of 3/14/07, of the 19 cards applied for, I have been approved for 17 of them.

Card I was going to apply for but forgot, so I removed it from the above list (I skipped it in my original list because it was less attractive than others below it, and I just forgot to go back to it!):
Chase Business Cash Rewards (none)/12month 0%, 3% $75cap/No Annual Fee
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The whole application process took me approx 1.5 hours. I started at 7AM Central time and completed the process just before 8:30AM Central time. I had everything lined out in a spreadsheet, and I would suggest the same for anyone planning an AOR because it makes it really easy to keep track of. 8 Immediate Approvals, 1 more (HSBC) approved before EOD 2/28 for a total of 9 same-day approvals. As of 3/14/07, I now have 17 confirmed approvals and 16 cards in hand.

Limit Increase Requested on Current Cards:
HH AMEX: $24,000 req - Approved
Chase Continental - $20,000 req - Approved for $25,000
Chase Priority Club - $20,000 req - Approved for $25,000

Thus far, I have total new credit (new cards AND CLI) equal to approx 160k. (updated 3/14/07)

Bank Accounts opened:
ELOAN 5.25% Savings (2/27/07)
Citi Checking (20,000 Thank You Points) (2/28/07) - Received welcome packet 3/6/07 that clearly states offer for 20,000 pts!

FNBO Direct 6.0% Savings (until Sept 28th, 2007)

<font color=white style="background-color: #3E3E3E;">I'm happy to take requests for information, just ask.

I won't have credit scores for today because PrivacyMatters has been down all day. POS....

Also - no news on new approvals today. I called Discover and National City, but neither had an answer yet. I didn't bother to call any others after that.

You could probably cram in another personal Citi card or two if you wanted. If you're a big hilton fan, you could go with their Hilton card (15,000 points) or the PremierPass Elite (15,000 points, fee after a year).

I'm surprised about the crappy HSBC limit (I figured an existing card holder with a decent CL would have a better shot).

I don't predict good things from FNB Omaha. How did they get on everyone's AOR radar, anyway?

How aggressively do you intend to use 0% transfers, and where do you intend to put it?

Bet it all on black, baby!

alert mods

how do these credit card companies approve you for this many cards? I thought once you apply for one card, you can not apply for another credit card for at least 3 mos. am i missing something here?

App o Rama is bunch of applications made for monetary benefits in short span. is this accurate definition? How come these CC company inquiries don't overlap and how come they can not figure out that individual is mass-applying to all CC and other stuff for bonuses etc? let me know folks. thanks.

I'll be putting together an AOR on behalf of my old lady (she hates that term!), you post will be useful.

Thanks for the effort. Green for you.

My wife has had an HSBC card since 1996. When she did her AOR last in January she was initially declined for 'unsatisfactory performance on an existing account' which was peculiar since it's always been paid on time. Anyway, this demanded explanation so she called them and ended up approved for a new card without really getting the initial reason for being declined explained. Her new credit line? $1000 This while she had been approved for several other cards with lines ranging from 20-40k. But the nice thing was that $1000 put her over 300k of new credit and it was annoying to be so close. I may include HSBC if cardoffers is still paying a bonus.

I agree that FNBofO should be avoided. They closed her account to new transactions before the first statement printed, though she did get keep the 0% BT. My thought is that there are too many issuers willing to play, if FNBofO doesn't want to, just skip them. They won't be included in my AOR later this month.

I'm going to hold off on Citi and see how the approvals go on the pending cards right now...don't want to get too greedy (or raise too many flags).

On HSBC, I'm hoping that I will be able to transfer my CL from the Kawasaki deal over to the new card once the BT check clears that original debt up. Anyone have any experience with reallocation of HSBC lines?

I found the FNB Omaha card on other's App-O-Rama details, and figured since it was from an off bank it would be another good addition for an easy $50 GC. I don't plan to use it for BT unless I end up with a crazy high limit.

The BT funds not going to the Kawasaki debt will go to the ELOAN account to earn the 5.25% for as long as possible.

App o Rama is bunch of applications made for monetary benefits in short span. is this accurate definition? How come these CC company inquiries don't overlap and how come they can not figure out that individual is mass-applying to all CC and other stuff for bonuses etc? let me know folks. thanks.

There are several threads about how many cards one should apply for and/or should reasonably expect to be approved for. Check the pinned AOR thread...lots of good information in there.

How aggressively do you intend to use 0% transfers, and where do you intend to put it?

I had everything lined out in a spreadsheet, and I would suggest the same for anyone planning an AOR because it makes it really easy to keep track of.

I have not seen anyone layout the format for their spreadsheet. Can you share that? Figure it will help not having to reinvent the wheel.

Thanks!

I'd be happy to share the spreadsheet, but I'm not sure how to post an Excel spreadsheet here...there's no option for an attachment like there are on several other forums I frequent.

How complex was it? If it was all on one worksheet, you could just post your column names to show how it was organized, and maybe designate calculated fields (if there are any) with an *. Just a thought.

Wasn't that complex...just had the following fields across the top:

CARD NAME
ISSUER (Citi, Chase, etc)
REWARDS (Sign-up Bonuses, GCs, statement credits, etc)
BT Terms & % (ex: 12mo 0%, or 9mo 0%)
BT FEE (ex: 3% no cap, or 3% $50max)
ANN FEE
PURCH REQ (for rewards)
STATUS (approved 10k, deferred, approved waiting, etc)
WEB LINK

There were no calculated fields. I found it most helpful to have a complete, concise, editable sheet that had the links to the apps for the morning of the AOR. Just one place to refer back to when moving between apps - make STATUS notes for the previous application and then click the link for the next one.

Per the CC Issuer FAQ, I'm the only one who reported, and the answer for me (with GM cards) was NO.

YMMV.
