The card has fees: $85.00 for World cardmembers; $65.00 for Platinum cardmembers.

No you don't. The minimum deposit is $25, but you don't need to deposit anything to open it.

chase takes a while to get their cards to folks. the lsat time i applied for a card. it took a month. dont see how the purchase can be made in time

Most of my Chase cards show up about a week or two after I apply. None has ever taken a month.

Chase always pulled Experian for me. I'm in MA too. Chase cards have a arrived at varried time ... 10 days flat to over 40 days! BoA is always late anyway. This is actually a very good deal, But i already got the card recently w/ 20K points. This offer is way better than the others. Green for you OP.

great! does anybody have the code or offer letter? has anyone received their statement credit yet? is it good on any flight or does it have to be full fair coach?
I'm told my 5%/1% chase card can be converted to this card, but the frontline CSRs aren't sure about what would bonuses apply if that conversion were done--just that the "intro rate" would NOT be available for a "product trade", as they call it (even though in the past, I HAVE received an intro rate.)
I'm guessing it'd be tough getting either the bonus miles or the flight credit without the blessings of a manager...has anyone attempted this, and if so what were you able to get?

I signed up for the card 3/15. Waited until yesterday to make a phone call to check the status of my application. It was still pending, so I called back today and got a nice CSR. He checked and saw that I was approved 3/27 and told me that I would receive the card in 7-10 days. I kindly told him that I needed to make my first purchase by 4/3 to get the freebies; he put me on hold for a minute and changed the shipment of my card to overnight. Hope I get it soon to make it in.

I already have a gift account so I just registered for this offer today using my one pass, then instead of going to the apply link in the offer page I went to this https://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/products/chase/default.aspx?SID=663F712DFDFF452AB5CA53AF61BE553E&MSCCode=Z0098009 page which allows me to get an instant approval. luckily I was instantly approved and was eligible for the 5% off discount on airline ticket..I was planning to make a trip to Houston this month so I made a ticket purchase immediately so that I would be still eligible for the 150$ gift account certificate. I confirmed with a continental agent that as long as i have registered with this offer and had a instant approval and made a purchase by 3rd april..I would be getting the bonus 150$..so keeping my fingers crossed for the 150$
