Check the website careefully for some decent holiday offers for reduced TY points on GCs...4500 TY points for a $50 GC from Lands End and LL Bean, for example. Also, 2500 TY points for $25 GCs. Happy Holidays! |

Resurrecting old thread because some people discussed a topic that's irking me. So like a lot of people, I got the offer to convert my card over to the World Mastercard. I just pulled my credit report from Experian and, as some worried, Citi is reporting a $0 credit limit because I have $0 utilization Has anyone else seen this? Did you convert to another card? |

For those that converted, had a balance and pulled a credit report, did the credit report only report a limit, a balance or both balance and limit (where balance = limit)? |

Please, I need verification. Does the citi world mastercard definitely affect your credit score? |

FYI: If you converted to the world card, make sure this is the card you use when you're traveling abroad. I was using this card in Canada and realized that I was charged a 0% currency conversion fee and given one of the best conversion rates. |

Foreign transaction fees appear as "Finance Charges" in your future billing statements with the Citi World MC...if it didn't, you got lucky. |

I'm a little confused - so why would someone want the Dividend World Mastercard if it will only make your credit score go down due to appearing to be at your max-credit all the time? Is there something (else) I'm missing? TIA. |

Alrighty, after spending 20-minute on the phone with an oversea CSR who insisted on selling me low-interest transfer and credit-monitoring reports instead of answering my concerns with the credit limit with the world mastercard, I was put through to his account manager. The manager told me plainly that Citi don't report credit limit and highest balance for world cards. While he said he doesn't know if that'd affect my credit score, he said the only way to have those information reported is by converting to other cards. I pulled my Equifax report and indeed both categories showed $0. I did some research and it appears that if I keep this card w/o using it, it shouldn't have a negative impact on my credit score. Of course, if I am wrong, feel free to correct me. Thanks. |

I just received my world mastercard. After reading about the possible negative impact on my future credit score (which citi should find a way to fix!), I called up the number on the back of my old card, and the representative had no difficulty reverting my account back to platinum select. No managers, no questions. |

In my experience with Citi's Platinum Am Ex, they do a poor job reporting no pre-set spending limit (NPSL) account information to credit reporting agencies compared to other credit issuers with similar NPSL products, such as bank of america. As a result, it seems like Citi's NPSL reporting method may penalize your credit score more than other issuers NPSL reporting methods. Specifically - Citi reports only the high balance of statement closing in the "high credit" (or "high balance") field. Other issuers such as BoA report the highest momentary balance (such as one that occurs just for one day, in between statement closings.) So it is necessary to "max out" a Citi card's reported balance to get the reported "high credit" increased. This is not necessary with other issuers (BoA) - you can charge a large balance, and pay it off before the statement closes, and they will report the highest "high balance" but a low current balance. Also, Citi NPSL card is specified as a generic "credit card" or "revolving" account type. Whereas Bank of America NPSL cards were with some credit reporting agencies specified uniquely, as: "flexible spending credit card" (instead of "credit card") or "flexible spending" account type (instead of "revolving" account type.) As for credit limits, I know that a Bank of America (Visa Signature) NPSL credit card reported credit limit of "N/A"; where I can't remember if Citi's NPSL card appeared also like this or if it appeared as "$0". (Unfortunately PM123 detailed account info is down so I can't check this out in my reports at the moment.) |

Not having read this thread, I actually called to have them switch my card from Dividend Platinum Select to Dividend World Mastercard last year. Now when I pull my credit report, my high balance is reported but my credit limit is reported as "NA". I'm going to call them and have them convert me back to a Dividend Platinum Select. |

I'm going to call them and have them convert me back to a Dividend Platinum Select. I recently noticed the same thing on my credit reports. Have people had success converting back to Platinum Select? Anyway, I just received a targeted offer on my Citi Dividend World Mastercard for 2% Cash Back on all purchases for 3 months, starting 2 days after I accept the offer. |

Anyway, I just received a targeted offer on my Citi Dividend World Mastercard for 2% Cash Back on all purchases for 3 months, starting 2 days after I accept the offer. Converting back was easy. If you kept your Dividend Platinum Select card, you can even get the same CC# back and start using those cards immediately (called a "deconversion", they'll still mail you a new card with the same CC#). Of course, take advantage of the targeted offer you got before converting back (your dividend balance carries over to your Dividend Platinum Select once you convert, so no worries about losing it). What was your spending habit with your Citi card to be able to get that targeted offer? (e.g. didn't use it at all?) I never did receive any targeted offer when I had the Dividend World Mastercard. |

We use it only on gas and groceries, as they are the only regular 2% categories that we spend much in (our utility company only accept Visa). We've had it for ~4 years, and this is the first such offer we've received. I guess they want us to use it for other purchases, too. Of course, we always pay in full each month. |

I have a world and am contemplating converting this back to a platinum (basically, if I decide a few fico points are worth all this hassle). One thing I noticed is that some people have been saying that the Dividend Platinum Select will expire in the near future and will be forced to convert to another card. Is this still the case? (I cant find a non-college student card on the website) |

For those who kept the dividend card, take a look at the qualifying purchases and the accumulation of cash rewards. Mine seems to have slowed down to a crawl. They must have changed the terms. I switched to the Chase Freedom card. |

You can downgrade to regular Diamond Preferred Card that has a limit. I feel the no limit on card really hurts the FICO score.
