I'm convinced hard inqs do pretty much nothing to your score. My balances are almost unchanged from last month, yet watch this (scores, followed by inqs)
Equifax Experian TransUnion
Last month: 704, 1 701, 8 700, 0
This month: 698, 3 688, 17 704, 3
Equifax went down 6 points, Transunion went up 4 points, and it took 9 inqs to bring Experian down 13 points. |

The effect is minimal, an average of 2-4 point per inquiry (and not necessarily linear). "Almost unchanged" balances are not unchanged. Even a decrease of a couple bucks, a balance on one less account, or a small increase in credit limit could push you over/below a threshold that will affect your score, potentially explaining the increase in your TU score. Bottom line, its impossible to identify how much effect any single item has on your score, because you history is constantly changing and aging - no two days are exactly the same. |

Thats true Glitch99, nothing else would explain why the TU score went up even though I added three inqs. |

Ouch. I just used the phone numbers as per this thread. 3 Citi denied, 1 still being processed 2 Chase approved, 1 still being processed 1 US Bank still being processed 2 BofA still being processed. CapitalOne and Discover were insta-denied, as I mentioned previously. |

Dear FWF geniuses, Chase is still offering me BT offers on my Amazon card, which is now $19.5k... 0% /w $75 max fee and I have to pay it off before July 1st (so... 10 months), or 3.99% /w $75 max fee until paid. Should I try for either? |

Well, as it stands now, it looks like the only truly profitable thing thats out there. I don't want Chase to wisen up and pull the BT offers. Its through the online BT form thingy. |

Should I try for either?Wait until everything shakes out. You can reallocate from yoru new chase cards to the Amazon (or from the Amazon to one of your new 12-month offers...) for an even larger BT? |

I did BTs on the forms for the new Chase cards, and those have been processed already. BTW, CoffeeEater, redding all my posts in my own AOR thread makes you look like a total douchebag. Go act like a /b/tard elsewhere. |

Some guy from BoA just called (didn't sound like he was having a great day), and they decided after reviewing my application that I would be denied the NEA card. He didn't bring up the other application, so I let him go, and called the BOA number in the above thread. I got a lady and she let the Platinum application go through for $5k, and then immediately offered me one of their Am3x products and got that at $2.5k. All in all, today has not been a bad day. The 3rd Chase application is still being reviewed, and I haven't checked up on the Citi Associated card or the US Bank Irish card again yet. So, assuming that this is all I get, I have $4.5k and $4.5k due to Chase, $4.5k due to BoA, $3k? due to HSBC, which if I keep it invested at 3.5% (not factoring in monthly payments) thats $578, plus $50 due to CardSelections, plus $50 statement credit on the BoA Platinum (which does include making a BT), minus $120 (BoA Platinum), $75 and $75 (Chase), minus $75 (HSBC): that leaves me about $627. So I guess for my first AOR, if this is as far as I get, this isn't bad. |

Got a pile of letters from Chase today, two for the BTs, one for being denied my Chase Business card, and two for having credit lines increased (this apparently is because of the CL move from Sony to Amazon). Now all I'm waiting for is the Associated card and the US Bank card. |

I don't think I've ever seen a user get to "Senior Member" status through just one thread, let alone his/her own thread. I think that deserves some kind of reward. Congrats on the strangest A0R path as well. I'll give you green for that even though I don't get the chance to read your hour-by-hour updates. |

I'm paying almost $200 up front on each Chase card now, as if they report now they're both over 90% utilization. I'm paying the BT fee + 2%, which should be enough to bring them down to sane levels. |

Diablo, quick OT question for you: I'm new to using CS and CO for their cash rebates. I signed up for both this morning, but don't see any rebates for any cards on CS.com, even after logging in! I noticed in the OP you went for 2 (pers) Chase Plats each with a $25 CS rebate...wondering whether the deal is just gone or if I'm doing something wrong...TIA! |

You can't see CS cash rewards unless you're logged in, and only some issuers have an advertising program. You should be able to go to http://cardselection.com/issuers/chase and see in the upper right corner "Welcome, Username", and all the cards should have cash reward symbols above the apply button. If you don't see these, you're not logged in. Double check to make sure you aren't accidentally eating cookies somewhere through maybe an over-zealous ad blocker or you simply have them turned off. |
