I also used the original link to submit my application. Like others on this thread, I received the "30 days" message.
I looked at the Sony Style website where a different link exists for the credit card. That one points to this version of the advertisement for the Sony Card. Go to the SonyStyle website. Click on either the link in the lower right-hand corner of the screen (for the credit card -- that link doesn't usually work for me) or click the "No payments, no interest for 12 months" link. That will take you to a different financing advertisement. Ignore it. Near the top of the page you will see "Back to: Home > Special Offers > No interest, no payments for 12 months". Click on the "Special Offers" link. On the far right side of the 'Special Offers' page is the link that always works for me to get to the "Instant" credit application for the Sony Card. Click on "See details" to start the process.
After clicking on the "Apply Now" link, I noticed that the title of that webpage is "Chase Instant Credit Application".
I also noted that the application itself is formatted differently from the application found by going through the OP's link. The one I've pointed toward has two checkboxes that say:
"Before completing the application, you should be able to answer "Yes" to the following statements by checking the boxes:
Yes, My credit history is clear of bankruptcy. Yes, my credit history is currently clear of seriously delinquent accounts & charge off's."
After that, the email address is broken into components so you can't write out your email address as being "my.name.is.earl@sitcoms.rule.tv" (as an example).
The end of the application goes on to talk about PC/Mac system requirements (including the ability to print documents on your home PC -- or have 1MB of free space on your harddrive).
I really wish I'd used that page now -- ah well!
I hope that this helps some of you out.. |

I got mine in the mail today for Hubby. It did not say anything about the $100.00 credit. Where are the written terms for getting the $100.00? He got approved for $9500.00. It also came with a single check. I want to write the check to our GMAC account, but I must make a purchase first right? The fee on $9000.00 is 3%, or not more than $75.00 correct?
I am not a math wiz, but I think the fee will be $270.00 so the $75.00 fee will apply.
Thanks OP!! |

As you said, you will need to make a purchase before you will get the $100 credit. In the OP's link, you must hover over the vaguely-blue-colored "1<" icon next to the words "For a limited time, get a $100 card credit after your first purchase." That is the easiest way to see the answer to your question. Other than there or on the alternative application that I pointed to in my previous post, I do not believe that the $100 offer is actually documented in any "Terms and Conditions" for the card. You just have to make a purchase on the card and wait about 8-12 weeks (according to the advertisement).
As for the balance transfer of $9,000 -- Yes, the fee will be no more than $75 (from the Terms & Conditions listed in ProBanker's post above. )
I hope that helps! |

Hubby does, no hard pull yet.
I am assuming a hard pull after the BT check is noticed by Chase, but not too sure about that either.
I made the initial purchase yesterday ,called CSR to confirm the 100.00 statement credit.
In 8 weeks it will show up.
Asked CSR if I could do a BT to my checking over the phone.
She said, no, not until after the account is opened longer than 90 days.
I thanked her. Wrote the check for 21K, then logged into Chase account.
Noticed that the "allocations" from other Chase account were not posting under "balance transfers available"
Called CSR again, they told me the account would go "under review" and gave me a number to call back.
I called this morning, and they said the total "balance transfer limit" was now up 23500K from 9500K.
I deposited the check in the bank this afternoon, waiting for funds to clear.
Triple checked with Chase tonight confirming the money is 0 percent until April 2008.
I think I called Chase Sony 7 times in 2 days, but, important to me to be 100% sure.
My first payment will be due July 15 but I will pay early, of course! |

Since apr for purchases and bts are both 0%, does it really matter if you make a purchase before of after bt? |

Chase inquired on his credit but no change in scores yet for all 3 CRA's.
Paid off the initial purchase, waiting for the BT check to clear the bank.
Will park some in GMAC to repay the payments, and the rest to leave untouched in FNBO. |

Will this work if you already have a Sony card? I did this deal last year but it was a $150 credit. |
