Same Sony Card offer as usual - receive a $100 statement credit with 8-12 weeks after your first purchase. But unlike the other current Sony Card promo which expires on 5/31/2007, this one ends on 8/31/2007.

Please Note: The first purchase MUST be an actual PURCHASE, not a balance transfer or a balance transfer check.

Linkified for your pleasure

do i have to be the first time customer to sony cc for getting the $100? i could not find any statement within the terms about this.

In the other threads, people were getting 2nd cards as well as the $100 credit.

The T&C seems to indicate the account must be opened by 8/31/07 implying a new account! But if they allow you to get a second account, then that would get you the $100 one would have to presume.

Thanks

Opened a second account *fingers crossed*

How long did you wait after canceling to reapply?

Any working links?

url in OP doesn't seem to like the redirect.

just copy and paste this directly:

macki123pi said: anyone got accepted right away?

It said it would take 30 days. Still nothing in the mail, but I do see it is posted as a new account when I log into Chase.

I guess I should wait for it to come in the mail...

Three weeks ago, I applied for the SonyCard and got a deferred decision notice.
Since so much time had passed, I figured I'd been denied, but yesterday I went online to check my Freedom Card balance, and was pleasantly surprised to find the SonyCard listed as an active account with a $4,000 CL!

Still haven't recieved the card, but at least I know it's on the way.
Thanks, OP! I wouldn't have applied for it if not for that $100 statement credit you made me aware of.

I applied at 5/17 and saw my new sony card account appeared online. Now I am waiting for the card to arrive, make purchase and wait to see the bonus will come or not.

hard pull if you already hold chase cards?

I also used the original link to submit my application. Like others on this thread, I received the "30 days" message.

I looked at the Sony Style website where a different link exists for the credit card. That one points to this version of the advertisement for the Sony Card. Go to the SonyStyle website. Click on either the link in the lower right-hand corner of the screen (for the credit card -- that link doesn't usually work for me) or click the "No payments, no interest for 12 months" link. That will take you to a different financing advertisement. Ignore it. Near the top of the page you will see "Back to: Home > Special Offers > No interest, no payments for 12 months". Click on the "Special Offers" link. On the far right side of the 'Special Offers' page is the link that always works for me to get to the "Instant" credit application for the Sony Card. Click on "See details" to start the process.

After clicking on the "Apply Now" link, I noticed that the title of that webpage is "Chase Instant Credit Application".

I also noted that the application itself is formatted differently from the application found by going through the OP's link. The one I've pointed toward has two checkboxes that say:

"Before completing the application, you should be able to answer "Yes" to the following statements by checking the boxes:

Yes, My credit history is clear of bankruptcy.
Yes, my credit history is currently clear of seriously delinquent accounts & charge off's."

After that, the email address is broken into components so you can't write out your email address as being "my.name.is.earl@sitcoms.rule.tv" (as an example).

The end of the application goes on to talk about PC/Mac system requirements (including the ability to print documents on your home PC -- or have 1MB of free space on your harddrive).

I really wish I'd used that page now -- ah well!

I hope that this helps some of you out..

I got mine in the mail today for Hubby. It did not say anything about the $100.00 credit.
Where are the written terms for getting the $100.00?
He got approved for $9500.00.
It also came with a single check.
I want to write the check to our GMAC account, but I must make a purchase first right?
The fee on $9000.00 is 3%, or not more than $75.00 correct?

I am not a math wiz, but I think the fee will be $270.00 so the $75.00 fee will apply.

Thanks OP!!

As you said, you will need to make a purchase before you will get the $100 credit. In the OP's link, you must hover over the vaguely-blue-colored "1<" icon next to the words "For a limited time, get a $100 card credit after your first purchase." That is the easiest way to see the answer to your question. Other than there or on the alternative application that I pointed to in my previous post, I do not believe that the $100 offer is actually documented in any "Terms and Conditions" for the card. You just have to make a purchase on the card and wait about 8-12 weeks (according to the advertisement).

As for the balance transfer of $9,000 -- Yes, the fee will be no more than $75 (from the Terms & Conditions listed in ProBanker's post above. )

I hope that helps!

Just a heads up. Picked a hard pull from both Equifax and then Transunion the next day from this.

Hubby does, no hard pull yet.

I am assuming a hard pull after the BT check is noticed by Chase, but not too sure about that either.

I made the initial purchase yesterday ,called CSR to confirm the 100.00 statement credit.

In 8 weeks it will show up.

Asked CSR if I could do a BT to my checking over the phone.

She said, no, not until after the account is opened longer than 90 days.

I thanked her. Wrote the check for 21K, then logged into Chase account.

Noticed that the "allocations" from other Chase account were not posting under "balance transfers available"

Called CSR again, they told me the account would go "under review" and gave me a number to call back.

I called this morning, and they said the total "balance transfer limit" was now up 23500K from 9500K.

I deposited the check in the bank this afternoon, waiting for funds to clear.

Triple checked with Chase tonight confirming the money is 0 percent until April 2008.

I think I called Chase Sony 7 times in 2 days, but, important to me to be 100% sure.

My first payment will be due July 15 but I will pay early, of course!

Since apr for purchases and bts are both 0%, does it really matter if you make a purchase before of after bt?

Yes, I even was double dipping with the Sony Card.

Chase inquired on his credit but no change in scores yet for all 3 CRA's.

Paid off the initial purchase, waiting for the BT check to clear the bank.

Will park some in GMAC to repay the payments, and the rest to leave untouched in FNBO.

Anyone received their $100 statement credit? My statement appeared today but no credit.. guess they will take their own sweet time to post the credit..

Will this work if you already have a Sony card? I did this deal last year but it was a $150 credit.

I received my card in the mail today. I had signed up for a Sony card last time for the $150 credit, too. When I signed under this link, it gave me the "we will contact you in 30 days".

Thanks sony! & chatanp...green for you

I got the 30 day thing as well...

I just logged into my chase account and the card is there. Ill just throw the credit line at my Chase freedom card after I get my $100 credit.

Anyone received their $100 statement credit? I purchased a CD from SonyStyle.com a couple months ago but no signs of $100

tommae said: Anyone received their $100 statement credit? I purchased a CD from SonyStyle.com a couple months ago but no signs of $100
Last time it took me almost 10 weeks after the 1st purchase to get the credit

12 weeks and no credit yet. I guess I'll be calling tomorrow.

Do I have to make a Sony purchase? The $100 will be statement credit or do I need to redeem it?

I did not make a sony purchase. I confirmed with a CSR I would get the $100 statement credit at 8 weeks.

I made the purchase on 5/30/07.

HTH!

Can you post the flyer you've received? I am wondering if the offer only good for those customers who received the flyer?
