I was persistent in calling, which is time consuming, I must admit. I don't know how much that helped expedite things, but I was about to go on vacation the following week, and I wanted to have as much as possible set up before I left.

If you want to know about specific lenders, tell me which, and I'll see if I have any notes I can share.

I'm wondering this myself?

I found some answers in the Mega Business Credit Card Thread.

"from what I read, biz scores are based on payment timeliness, and that's all!"

I'm hoping this is correct, and utilization doesn't really matter. Obviously an individual lender might get spooked with a particular balance, but perhaps the overall picture won't look as damaging.

I'll probably go check out my Experian Business score as well.

A couple of minor updates.

AMEX - Received my AMEX Starwood Biz card. $3k line, but I wasn't expecting much. I'll hit the crack CLI button in a month or so.

BofA - Still no evidence of my bt fee refund on the business refund. This is becoming a major headache. Tread carefully here, if you plan to add this card to your next AOR.

Updated OP.

I have both the In Chicago/NYC. First i just applied for them (got CL's of 3.2 and 2.6k), then did CLI on crack online and got a 10.2 and 24.9 CLS. Then I wrote a 9k and a 23k BT check to my girlfriend (careful you write this to someone you trust) and had her deposit it, then write me a check for me to deposit in my own checking. This seemed the easiest/best option for me to get the money as you cannot write the checks to yourself except at a cash advance rate (and not direct deposit to checking). I would strongly recommend to not specify the the BT's at application and do the CLI online first so you can get a much larger CL. You can request the checks (just call in to get them mailed to you) and they are still 0%, no fee for 6 months as long as you do not write it to yourself.

kkerty89-

to confirm MikeR397's account, i've seen several posts about AMEX in:xxx that echo his experience.

i'm probably not going to tempt the FR gods with an AMEX BT. it's not worth it to me. instead, i'm going to use the heck out of the SimplyCash biz card. nice CashBack program that auto-credits every month, and it's 0% for 12 months on purchases. i'll let the balance build. almost as good as a BT, and doesn't show on the personal report.

MikeR397 - hitting the AMEX crack AND launching a big BT seems to be a pretty strong AMEX FR trigger. I hope you come out OK.

thanks guys. I waded my way through a FR previously and dont really want to lose the 59K I have sitting on simplycash at 0% or the $1000 or so in blue cash rewards I'm due. I have no intent of hitting the pipe with a 15K line, but do want to reallocate everything unused and BT, just fearing ANOTHER FR because of it. I would really like a 75K line on personal credit, that would be great. ALSO, because of the no fee transfers, theoretically if you can get 6 transfer free checks, this can be treated like MBNA billpay in paying it off every month before close and starting over.

alert mods

Finally received credit from BofA for the erroneous BT fee on my business card. Note that "No fees for balance transfers" is gone from the promo page, but I kept a copy from the time of my application.

Also, I opened a BofA AAA money market savings account. Haven't had a B&M bank in years but decided it might be nice to have a local option for depositing $30K BT checks.

I am praying for luck to avoid an FR from AMEX, which I may need. (I do have two AU accounts over 3 years with them that have large limits from my dad, and we have used them both minimally so I should have a good history with AMEX, at least from an AU perspective). However, just an update on the AMEX check writing process, those that do it should be aware that the first check they write to a person (before AMEX has your signature on file, and if the check is large) will cause a phone call to verify before they honor the check. If you don't talk to them the day they call, they will deny your check and make you write another.

In my case, they called at 3:30pm, left a message demanding a call back by 4pm, which I didn't get the message till 7pm. So they cancelled the first check I wrote for 9k, which caused a $34 insufficient funds fee from a check my girlfriend wrote to me after it posted, and also a $10 return check fee (not to mention the check that was wrote to me for that amount didn't go through to my bank). I called them up, and told them to honor all my checks to her from now on, and they said fine and immediately approved the other 22k check I wrote to her. I've already rewrote the other 9k check to her for deposit and it went through fine the second time around now that they have my signature and request to honor it. As of now, the only real negative is the $44 in fees for the bounced check/girlfriends acct underage, but thier "anti fraud" policy certainly caused a headach. I'm praying to the credit card gods to avoid the FR and not doing any more CLI's with them (on 10.2k card) until well after I pay back the BT money in full.

I still don't have the physical card in my hands, but got approved for $25k line and when I applied on 6/19 the "no fee for BT" was still there. I'm planning to take out the whole $25k, and let it go over limit with their fee. It will be a whole clusterf#$k (as John Steward would say) but it should be fun. I'll see if I could possibly re-allocate personal lines into BofA business, to get over $50k Cl

hahaha, nice jon stewart reference!

didn't even try to reallocate BofA personal to biz - good call. let us know how that goes (along with the BT fee shenanigans.)

Got my Barclays / Juniper National Parks card today, along with a blank BT check. Since I know Juniper gets all pissy about high balances on other cards (happened to my wife), I might just go ahead and uncork a 90% BT on them. If they want to lower the CL, they won't have much room. A preemptive strike, if you will.

A nice lady from Chase Biz called me on Friday. She seemed to really want me to have more credit. After repeatedly assuring me there would be no hard pulls for a CLI request (since it had been less than 30 days from my app date), today I find a new hard pull on my EQ report. Nice job, Chase. I should have known better, as Chase is notorious for hard pulls for ALL CLI requests. Anyway, Ms. Nice Chase Lady gave me her direct line and she can expect a not-so-nice call next week.

On a lark, I applied for that sweet Bank Atlantic biz card with the 15 months at 0%. As expected, they pulled TU, which had incurred the least damage from my AOR. I figure the worst thing that can happen is that it gets denied and I try again in 6 months. It's currently deferred.

alert mods

Chase - The CLI that I did not initiate was rejected. Great, I get a hard pull with no results, and all because I listened to someone from Chase who called me. I'll try not to make that mistake again.

M&T Bank - My online BT request to my savings account showed up at USAA today. Nice to workaround to the "We don't BT to checking" line the CSRs were giving me.

That was the last BT I was watching to make sure it found its proper home. Now it's time to make minimum payments and collect interest. Oh, and I guess I have the Bank Atlantic app still pending.

alert mods

Called Juniper to check on my Bank Atlantic app this morning. Answered a few questions about my business, and voilą!, approved for 20K! Mad, mad props to kkerty89 for finding this very valuable card.

I'll update the OP and results.

Does anyone know if this check can be written to your spouse? The last name will be the same, but the first name is obviously different.

Chase update - Turns out they pulled EQ AND TU. But it gets better...I called for reconsideration on my CLI. Spoke to a credit analyst, answered a few questions about my business and my debt. After I explained the debt was really an "investment," she approved the CLI. $50K, a $13K increase!

Citi - Decided to try to reallocate CL from Diamond AMEX to my Citi Biz PP card. Requested yesterday, but it hasn't appeared yet.

BTW, bumpage WORKS. I only have 2 TU AND 2 EQ inquiries showing. I've been pulling 3 times a day with TrueCredit, CreditSecure, and PrivacyMatters. Took less than a month, and now I'll cancel PM and TC.

1)Reallocate from Personal to Biz with Citi? Prolly not going to work. What did the CSR tell you?
2)Nice with the Bumpage. That's definately my plan for my AOR 2.0 this fall - pay for about 2 months of each, bump before and after.

I did this successfully ~3-4 months ago.

Wow, I stand corrected. I've been shot down twice, and know it doesn't happen for many. Is it something particular to those two cards?
